(Terry of KY)First time watching and loved your video. So many different colored sheep makes it fun to see what color the babies will be.💝💝🐑 and goats.
You can name the last ewe, Friday! Although I think I am two months late. We are about to have Shetland lambs for the first time and I just found your helpful videos! Thank you!!!
About naming - perhaps you can go to famous people born on the day the lamb was born - then look for one with the letter you are on. Like Federic Chopin was born March 1 = F

Would love to have a piece of property with a fair amount v off grass land and rubbish with a handful of goats and lambs to keep the property under control. Biggest concern would be the predators in this area. Coyotes are horrible doing with wild hogs. Both would be threats to any goats not protected by some means. What do you use to protect your herd from the predators in NC. Any particular predators give you trouble in NC??
Same… the coyotes are relentless. Luckily not many wild hogs here, but they are everywhere in my state. I still need to get my livestock guardian dogs 😩
I have 3 dogs that patrol the property, plus hot electric fences, and neighbors that hunt or shoot target practice almost daily. Between these we have not had any predators attack our larger animals, although we do lose a bird occasionally, mostly to owls or hawks.
Sorry to hear about Floyd. Yes yes yes to milking Cordelia!!! Wouldn’t you love to be the only UA-camr with a side by side goat milking/sheep milking comparison to show how different they are! 😉 I’m team tame Cordelia lol Such a pretty flock, I hope the little nameless ewe keeps those colors as she natures. Fingers crossed for some red and white/brown and white lambs.
Thanks. I am tempted to try. I am thinking of picking a lamb and working with her from birth to tame her for milking, I think that would be easier but a long commitment. We have had some other very pretty lambs born since I shot this video that I think you will really like!
@@YouCanFarm ahh I must have missed those! Gotta go watch em on my lunch break. Oh I understand lol it helps when they are good motivated, but still it would take some work, I agree. And honestly I’ve noticed sheep don’t like to be anywhere “alone” it helps to milk 2 at a time, or at least have 2 on the stand at the same time. And boyyyy do those udders work completely different than a doe’s. I actually had to grab some of the udder just to get milk into the teats when I worked at the sheep dairy here in Alabama. Of course they machine milk, but stripping the teats was even difficult at first! It’s a whole other world from milking cows and goats in my opinion.
I did show a goat birth last year (ua-cam.com/video/jbdoz6rgeSs/v-deo.html) but UA-cam frowns on showing too much of stuff like that, so I don't show as much because I don't want to get a community strike.
The only “regular” restaurant I know with lamb on the menu is Tazikis. If you go to a “nice” restaurant you can find lamb on the menu, but it’s far and few between, even in the southeast with many sheep farmers
It's definitely not as widely eaten by Americans as other cultures. I have absolutely no problem selling it though, it is in high demand amongst my foodie customers.
Hello, Thank you for the video as I love animals. But please could people stop to anthropomorphise the name of new born animals : sheeps have no "son" nor "daughter" as those two name are specific for human specie persons. There is a name for those new born : lamb !! Male lamb or female lamb. "Son and daughter" is ridiculous and even not healthy.

I know, she's a good mom!
Thank you so much for your post mam. I just love these little buggas.....You explain about them all so well🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Ooh, good one!
Fredo!😂 Love that name! Reminds me of Fredo Corleone from The Godfather. Lambs are totally the opposite of mafiosos which is why it’s so cute!
Yes, that's exactly where I got the name from! He's my adorable little gangster.
So lovely queen... 🙂
