I disagree. SHE IS LYING AND SHE KNOWS IT. If she thought she was being honest, she wouldn't be smirking or taunting her "abuser". If she truly thought she was a victim, she would behave like one. She absolutely knows she's being dishonest.

I completely agree 110%!!! True victim’s are being mocked and being exploited by AH, she is obviously lying, she has the words like she got them from actual victims but her actions and reactions are not in line with her words!!! She’s the obvious aggressor in this relationship & it’s as if she was truly trying to push him to self-destruct! In my opinion she pushed & pushed him to his breaking point, but rather than overdose or harm himself he walked away & she couldn’t get to him….so she concocted the train wreck probably believed he would give her everything she demanded to keep his life private and avoid mass embarrassment! She’s a psycho!!

B/C what they on one hand have VERY LITTLE IMPULSE CONTROL, if they become ENRAGED!!!!! HOWEVER...they are incredibly calculating & can be smart, & incredibly deceitful & manipulative. I realized how manipulative and calculating Amber was ... when she willfully chose to release potentially damaging information about Depp to the Public ...
1- On the day after Johnny Depp's mother's funeral ... a person he had a very close relationship with - was the day Heard 'chose' to file for divorce
2- A few days later - by no coincidence - ON THE SAME DAY AS THE MEMORIAL DAY OPENING OF DEPP'S $170 MILLION BIG BUDGET MOVIE -"THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS" - Heard INTENTIONALLY filed for a restraining order against Depp ... along with accusations of abuse and accompanying PHOTOS of "her bruises".
Needless to Say with all the negative press against Depp .... the Box Office numbers for this 'family" film were rather dismal ... in no small part because the press was obsessed with Heard's allegations of abuse against Depp.
A lot of people were dependent on the income generated by that movie - but all Heard cared about was being as destructive and damaging as possible to Depp when carefully choosing the timing for those allegations of abuse.

YES! YES! YES is the answer. I saved my brother from a woman like her. He eventually divorced her. She had BPD. She wanted to fight all day long and constantly looked for a flaw in the relationship which fueled all of their fights. They always feel like they are getting blamed as they do nothing but blame their partners. People with BPD use their spouses as a punching bag. Relationship with a BPD has a lot of sweet and deep moments that cause you to not be able to leave the relationship so you continue to get abused until you finally see the pattern. These people are impossible to treat. My brother's ex-wife had 6 therapists that did nothing but ghost her after 3-4 sessions. They don't change. They are so hard so deal with. So much anger and resentment for NO REASON. Run away!!

I'm thinking with age and maturity this flaw goes away and people become more grounded. So maybe that's why they say in a marriage you gotta get past the first couple years when you get to know each other and as you mature you settle into a great relationship and those faults fade away. And there are many many variations and overlapping of these disorders. I believe in her case there was a mixture of lies and the truth. One thing that people with BPD will do is really ramp up a display of emotion to get people to believe them because they learned as children that that was the only way to get attended to in a family dynamic that doesn't recognize your needs, for a variety of reasons. Nah, she’s lying. The difference between delusions (truly believing you were abused) and lying (deciding to accuse someone falsely of abuse) is the manipulation - you have to have some idea of reality in order to know what aids the image you wish to construct and which facts compromise that image. I can’t speak to Amber Heard’s inner world or thought process, but the reason I feel she knows she is lying is: she uses words which fit her narrative, the main example being saying ‘pledging’ to erase the meaning of ‘donating’. This, to me indicates she knows she didn’t donate, but that it benefits her image to insist she did. If you didn’t know you didn’t donate, wouldn’t you just use that word when insisting you did?
It takes someone very aware of the true course of events to actively twist words like this.

Many of my clients with BPD have this ‘I love you/ I hate you’ dichotomy. Relationships are very volatile with others and there are strong feelings of abandonment. BPD can usually arise from extensive trauma in one’s life. Treatment usually consists of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) which helps people learn distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. This diagnosis has become very stigmatized and many have a hard time coming to terms with the diagnosis, but if one is willing to work with the DBT modality, there can me a lot of success in behavioural changes

    Thank you Dr Drew!
This is a true story about a borderline personality disordered client that I was involved in the treatment of, at a hospital I worked at, that was trained in dialectical behavior therapy, also known as the Marsha Linehan protocol.
In treating borderline personality disordered patients, the best practice is to use two therapists, both of them considered equal as co-therapists, and to have a psychiatrist involved in the treatment to manage medication.
Because borderline personality disorder goes along with suicidal gestures, we had a protocol that we would hospitalize anyone who made any indication of being suicidal who was in our borderline program.
You need to take what they say seriously even if it's just a way for them to get attention.
Our borderline group is typically an outpatient group. Which means they come in for therapy every day for a couple of hours in a group setting, and then they additionally receive some one to one counseling, and they also meet with a psychiatrist once a week or less frequently for medication management.
It's a very expensive form of treatment. But it pays very well for the insurance reimbursements.
Being one of the only hospitals in Northern California in the early 2000s that was authorized to deliver dialectical behavior therapy, we had an inordinate amount of referrals to our hospital.
One day about 4 o'clock in the afternoon one of the patients who was in our borderline personality group showed up at the hospital claiming that she was suicidal.
She demanded to be hospitalized immediately. I hadn't even gotten her to the evaluation room yet. She had a large suitcase, a very large handbag, and another large shoulder bag.
I asked her if she was on her way to the airport or something, and why she had all this luggage with her.
She said, "Because you're going to admit me now! And if you don't, I'm going to call (name)." Then she named the Director of the hospital who was one of the therapists who was primarily responsible for her treatment.
I repeated my question, and asked her what she had in all of those bags. Because we usually don't let people come into the hospital without going through their belongings.
We have no idea what they're bringing in. It could be alcohol, drugs, weapons, and she had enough stuff for a week in Cancun!
She started naming the things that were in her suitcase: clothing, make/ up, snacks, hair dryer, curling iron, etc.
I looked in and it looked like she had emptied her closet and her bathroom into the luggage!
One of the questions that you can ask somebody who is allegedly suicidal is, "What would you do if I didn't admit you and sent you out of here right now."
I was expecting her to say that she would continue on her way to the airport.
But, she said, "I'll get you fired! This is all my stuff! You need to admit me now or I'm going to get you fired!"
She obviously was not suicidal if she was planning on spending a week at the hospital and she had packed for it!
So I told her that I would immediately call my boss, and she agreed that I should.
She demanded that I tell him that she was there, and that she was suicidal.
I went into another room and explained to my boss what was going on.
He said to go ahead and admit her on a 5150, but transfer her to a hospital that was as far away as we could possibly find for her, which was about 150 miles away.
She had to be transported by ambulance, of course.
The ambulance company refused to take her luggage (which someone I know might have had something to do with).
She was thrilled that I was putting her on a 5150.
She thought that she was going to be admitted to our hospital.
I am not lying when she said that I needed to go faster because she didn't want to miss dinner, which was usually served at 4:30 to 5 o'clock.
We had excellent food in our hospital and she didn't wanna miss the dinner meal!
    Clearly, she was not suicidal!
How can you be suicidal if you're mad because you might miss dinner at a psychiatric hospital?
When I told her there was a slight delay in getting her admitted, she had no idea that I had an ambulance on the way to pick her up, and transport her 150 miles away.
When the ambulance came, they strapped her in the gurney, and they took her out of the hospital, screaming and yelling and threatening to get me fired.
Half the people in the hospital knew what was going on.
I know some of you people are having a very hard time understanding that AH is mentally disordered.
Or, that AH cannot possibly have zero remorse for what she's doing.
Yet, if she has the diagnosis that Dr. Curry suggests that she has, folks, you may as well start writing out your Christmas list to Santa Claus, putting your lost teeth under your pillow, and waiting for the Easter bunny too!
Because that'll happen faster than AH admits remorse!
From the beginning I have been suggesting that AH has narcissistic personality disorder, which is more of a combination of histrionic personality disorder with features of borderline personality disorder.
In other words, it's way, way worse.
Narcissistic personality disorder is like borderline personality disorder only crueler, and more sadistic.
    I'm encouraging you...
Please don't focus on AH's mental illness. It is her mental illness, she is responsible for it.
The best thing that JD can do, is to 100% enforce the judgement against her, make her pay, hold her accountable by teaching her through consequences.
Consequences are a highly underrated form of teaching.
The second that you don't give BPD's what they demand, they have no remorse whatsoever for trying to destroy you.
You can call her all the terrible names you want -
    Ms Aquaturd,
    Ms Merturd,
    poop emoji's,
    etc.
Its not going to change her at all.
A person in that situation needs at least a year of therapy, and it's hard work, for the therapists, the psychiatrist, the social workers, and the family / support system to stick with it because a person with borderline personality disorder will fight all those people at the same time and never once admit to anything they do or have done as wrong.
It's called crazy making. And believe me, they can be so good at it you will really wonder if you are the one that's crazy.
That's why a single therapist should not treat someone with borderline personality disorder, and it should be done with a co-therapist at the very least.
I learned some really valuable lessons working in the hospital about how to diagnose and treat serious mental illness. I learned things that you can't learn anywhere except in a hospital setting because we have labs, medical professionals, referrals to neurologists and other medical specialtys to rule out every other possible cause of what's happening.
I learned about AH through this court battle. Never heard of her before two months ago.
It took me less than 30 seconds to feel what I felt when I was in that room working with people with borderline personality disorder.
Its a feeling that makes me want to vomit, and run like hell in the other direction as fast as I can.
Doing psychiatric assessment, I had exactly 15 minutes to do my assessments, and not one minute more. Believe me, by the time I worked at that hospital for a year, 15 minutes was enough time. They usually took me less than five minutes, and I spent the other 10 minutes satisfy my curiosity. I've already made up my mind but I had a four-page assessment to fill out, and 15 minutes seemed like hours..
I have treated dozens and dozens of people with schizophrenia. I will treat a dozen schizophrenics before I treat one more person with borderline personality disorder.
    Give it up people!
She doesn't even know how ill she is.
Put your energy into something positive.
Go rake somebody's lawn for free!
    Go feed a homeless person.
Go wash the windows on some neighbors house who can't wash their own windows.
Go offer to wash someone's car, walk their dog, fix their fence, buy them some groceries, volunteer your time and make the world a better place!
I promise you this, you cannot make this world a better place by doing anything that focuses on AH because even after six years of JD fighting her he barely made it out with his reputation.
JD is a very intelligent, creative man.
Thanks to "God" that he's out from underneath that spiders web
Again, go do something to make the world a better place today!
Don't waste your time and energy trying to change someone who has no remorse, and worse, no apparent capacity for remorse.
Because only the rare people like him who are capable of standing up against the crowd, and on faith shining a light into a dark place, can help us all understand that being declared not guilty is not good enough!
Because not guilty is not the same as innocent!
    Stand against evil.
    Stand.
    Keep standing.
But don't think that by standing there, it's gonna go away.
Know when to run, and know when to fight.
But as long as you continue to focus on the problem, you are not focused on the solution.
The solution is to go out and do something to make this world a better place, and do it now!

When I saw her on the witness stand testifying in some video that randomly came up on my feed. I saw her talk about being raped with a vodka bottle and there was no emotion in her eyes.
Her face twisted towards the jury, then back to her own attorney, then back to the jurors, and her face kept twisting into different emotions but the emotions only lasted a split second. None of the emotions lasted. She kept switching from anger, to rage, to sadness, all in under one second.
And yet she was describing being raped with the vodka bottle? Are you kidding me? That only happens with people who dissociate. But if you dissociate, it shows on your face because there's no emotion. And she wasn't dissociated.
Because every single time somebody said "objection," she looked at the judge, or back at the jury, and waited.
And then launched right back into her story as if nothing had happened. When you're dissociated you're not even able to determine what's around you. You can't look people in the eye when you're dissociated. Or maybe you go into a rage when you're dissociated? It's hard to say, but they call it the thousand mile stare. When you've seen it enough times, you know not to ask anymore questions.
You don't want somebody to go into a dissociated state. It's not like Hollywood. If they start to dissociate, you're fucking up as a therapist. You need to shut the fuck up and stop talking. You need to get them back. You can't re-traumatize them by digging into their shit.
It's not right. We will do this early in our therapy because we're curious, and we think we have some sort of solution that we learned in some stupid fucking graduate class. But those textbooks are not real people. They're stories that you read. You throw all that shit out after you've been working in a psychiatric hospital for a month or two, or else you'll end up being 5150.'d.
She never got raped with a bottle. She was lying.
I'm not saying the people with borderline personality disorder have not had trauma. Indeed, sometimes they have. But not always.
Nevertheless, they have something called the perceptual reality of trauma. And they can also develop what's called an "entitlement mentality."
Entitlement mentality is the Sahara desert, dry as a bone, and it will suck up all the water of an Ocean, yet leave no trace of evidence of ever having been touched by any moisture.
And that's when I knew, that poor son of a bitch, it's all a lie.
But I did think that he must have abused her in some fashion or another. I know if I was married to someone like that I sure would have.
      That's a good question.
Good for you for asking. I just knew it made me wanna throw up.
I really love Dr. Drew. I have spoken to him on the radio several times. He's a genuinely good guy. But he has compassion for people like that. You have to have compassion for people like that to be in the same room with them. But even he says, you never go into a room with someone with borderline personality disorder alone. Never. Never. Never. Never never never never never.

@@stevebutler812 thanks so much for answering with so much detail. Especially your explanation of the dissociation mechanism helps to understand that she wasn't just being retraumatized.
I think people instinctively picked up on those clues and knew she's not trustworthy without being able to explain why: what she was telling was horrifying and didn't match with her mannerisms. She looked direct in the jury's eyes, couldn't cry a tear though trying hard. Also because nearly everyone has been "fortunate" enough to have met some Ambers in their life.
I have vague recollections from high school and college of some girls who had traits that strongly remind me of her. I don't know if borderline but for sure attention-seeking, lacking empathy, egotistical... beyond jealous and nearly turning to stalkers and fierce enemies if they perceived you might become a threat to their supremacy in any way.
I wouldn't want to offend anyone but I've observed this is quite exclusively an issue with us females. After this I developed an instinct to detect this type and run for miles if I ever met one.
What I'm often wondering about is why some people try to explain, justify and excuse her behaviour as if they were her therapists. Of course things are not white or black, but the amount of suffering she's caused to Johnny Deep and his family isn't excused by any trauma she may have experienced in her childhood.

All right Maria, now you've gotten under my skin and I couldn't even sleep last night because I couldn't stop thinking about your question.
Here is where I'm going to do some thing that I am reluctant to do publicly but I'm going to do it anyway.
Dr. Drew is wrong about a couple of things that he said in this interview and he may have misstated his intentions.
However, he said that nobody suffers more than the borderline.
You cannot find any evidence whatsoever that Amber heard has suffered at all, or that she even has the capacity to suffer, because she was caught on video lying about leaking material to TMZ.
But the entire video showed that she was laughing not suffering, and that she had set it up and was laughing at him because he was drunk the morning that he found out his mother died. The truth of the matter is she used it to allege that he had been abusing her.
That's the proof you need that Amber heard set him up, destroyed his career, and spent the next many years getting millions and millions of dollars from him, bringing her drug addicted friends into his penthouses, but all he did was treat every single one of them with respect, and fall deeper and deeper into his drug and alcohol addiction, and depression.
JD suffered more because if her than she even has the capacity ro "suffer."
So that's the proof that you need that it was not a distortion.
The fact that she covered her mouth during the UK deposition when she said the TMZ had been notified about the divorce and the restraining order shows that she knew she was covering up the truth and she wasn't supposed to say that and when she did it shocked her.
I believe that what you're saying is accurate, and I have only worked with one or two borderline personality disorder males, but it does exist in males.
However, I believe what we're discussing is impossible to determine because it's possible she has narcissistic personality disorder. It's also possible that sometimes what we're really looking at is people who are referred to as psychopaths and sociopaths, and those people have no capacity for remorse. Field of mental health is not as clear-cut as it might be in another hundred years once we understand more about the human brain.
Nevertheless, you seem to have good instincts, and I hope you're smart enough to never go into the field and then I'll Hills, that's a room like hell for people like that because they will destroy you, and that's where you were also very correct.
Dr. Drew has compassion for those people, and he's highly qualified to do what he does and he's an absolute expert when it comes to working with people with these kinds of disorders.
My expertise Is it working with the more clear-cut psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and other dissociative disorders.
So I do not believe that Amber heard is suffering from PTSD and she dissociated because of PTSD. I actually believe that she plotted what she did and she's closer to a psychopath, in other words what we call antisocial personality disorder, or narcissistic personality disorder, then she is to borderline Histrionic. But these are simply splitting hairs, and arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Perhaps it went back and forth like that between you and your sister growing up. If she does that, remember that she doesn't have the right to ruin your relationship with your sister. Her unhappiness is her responsibility, not yours or your sister's. She once started firing a gun in the ceiling while her kids were in their bedrooms upstairs. Yeah, insane! She had an explosive temper that could go off anytime and anywhere. Sometimes I got the impression she purposely started conflict, and she was a master at finding people's "triggers". The sad thing is I do believe she really did love me. To be blunt, it just wasn't worth it. And OMG, the way she treated her kids was too much. I knew if I stuck in it I would start "protecting" the kids which always triggered her.... It takes many years to realise that, as much as you want to help someone, or at least maintain a relationship with someone who suffers from BPD / Histrionic / Narcisistic tendencies or a combination of those in various degrees, you are right, it is very toxic, it affects the whole family when it's a family member, it is impossible to maintain any normal relationship, if you are on their radar, you will end up in the firing line, you will become a pawn, a punching bag.
The problem with this type of personality is that they categorically deny any responsibility for their behaviour, they view any attempt to discuss the issues as criticism and will defend their actions to death if necessary, they will rather self destruct (A.H.) than back off or admit responsibility, there is no way to get through to them. Perhaps the empathy Dr. Drew feels for people with borderline personalities is warranted for some, but in AH's case, she knew what she was doing. I have listened to those recordings of her taunting him, antagonizing him, even drugging him in one of those recordings and that was after they were already divorced and she showed up at his home!
When you put the things she was saying. combined with the help of the freeloaders she was parading into his property living off of JD and his resources, the only conclusion you can reach is all of them were conspiring to stage it so this man (JD) became known as a drunken in the gutter drug abuser and in the meantime, she was going to overdose him and claim he did it accidentally. What thankfully stopped it was JD's sister intervening and getting him into rehab and freed from the addiction he had developed from a prescription to roxycodeine from an injury he had filming POTC. That is why she was so belligerent and what caused the fight in Australia, was her not being in his will. She may have borderline personality and the traits that go along with it, but it is not preventing her from plotting, manipulating, and eventually with her scheming and lies she will murder someone, not a doubt in my mind. I think JD knows it too and probably why he is staying in Europe traveling all over so he is not staying in the same place, where she can get to him.

@@katemunro2579 Both JD and AH grew up in dysfunctional abusive families. It affected them in different ways. One resorted to taking the abuse and the other to aggression It is typical.
It is possible to heal later in life, it also takes having a stable rock, and a lot of work on own insight and self-awareness. Basically looking beyond human behavior, including own behavior and recognising the triggers and patterns. The main issue is that everybody is looking to each other for validation and love. The problem is that there is no amount of love, validation and acceptance that anybody can give us that would be enough, no matter how much they try. Love, validation and acceptance has to come from inside. If we haven't received it from our parents in our formative years, we remain that needy child emotionally. So instead of always searching for validation from others, if we realise that everybody else is also looking for the same thing and that instead of seeking validation from others, which is a bottomless pit that others can't fill, we can decide to GIVE validation to ourselves and others and not depending on others. If we choose to validate others the way we want to be validated (it's not always an action but generally having that attitude and intent of having as much empathy and love for other people as we'd like, treating others the way we want to be treated without expecting anything in return - very important). It is healing and fulfilling. We are capable of an abundance of love and acceptance of self and others but we just don't know it. We weren't given permission or shown how to love ourselves and if we can't love ourselves we can't love others and vice versa. I am talking about being kind to ourselves , being enough, not the selfish ego- driven "love". That's not love. First of all we need to figure out what love is, because love is only love if it is selfless and unconditional.
