At the risk of being argumentative, even phone cameras have manual settings for exposure. It's best to just listen to the audio on this because you can't see what he's carving.
He was having to use a camera he usually didn’t use so he had exposure issues. Dale said he was going to reshoot it this next week and post to his Facebook.
I think the camera’s exposure meter was having trouble with the black background vs the white wood. Perhaps a background of a lighter shade would help, like a piece of plywood or some middle tone. I love the video and your carvings are awesome. Thanks.
I say this constructively....people need to understand microphones just a little. This was unwatchable because he recorded every little bang on the desk, and completely unaware of it. A sharp loud sound that's louder than his voice. Every few seconds. Production matters.
Since the meetings are live we are at the mercy of the internet when we do our recordings. We have tons of other content available that are all recorded live.
This fella has talent that's amazing. Working with the lighting problems he still does a great job. Many thanks.
I love watching the videos yall make.
I just love what you guys do.
Thanks so much!
Fabulous job looks very easy but I'm sure its not that easy for us.
I would so love to see this video reshot...even if there was no talking and sped up.
Well I could see what was going on ok & loved this demo, yes could of been shot better but we're carvers not film crew...
How do I get the pattern on these to cut out more
If you go to our page and click on community, you will find some patterns there.
Would he sell the cut out? Or give a pattern?
Jan Lvll if you go to the International association of woodcarvers Facebook page there is a posting there of the pattern

how are you supposed to see what he's doing? I can't believe noone told him his exposure was not set.

Sorry can’t see what’s being carved… light is too bright!
Unfortunately we are at the mercy of the internet in the live meetings. We have many others to choose from. Thanks for following along!
Contrast is so high. Can’t see what he’s doing

Lights too bright, can’t make the features out!
Unfortunately it is a live presentation and sometimes the technology doesn't cooperate.
Couldn’t really see what he was doing too bright and washed out.
Yes the
Can’t see what he’s doing
Unfortunately that is sometimes an issue when you record a live meeting. Please feel free to check out some of the other meetings!
When he got to the facial features he really didn't explain in depth and the lighting was so bad you you couldn't actually see the steps.
