i just love how when you were galloping across the fields your reins were long and at one pint you let them go to fix your hat
    you really trust those horses

It's because she was using leg. When neck reining, especially on a long rein like that, there isn't much contact, so you substitute it with your leg.

+PalominoJumper Aj You should try riding your horse with more leg! Even if it's more common in reining and western pleasure, lots of English riders do it too! I find it works wonders in dressage and when asking for a turn in stadium.😊

+Michelle Clough Na, people that think riding isn't a sport have simply never ridden a horse properly. Anyone in their right mind who tried it once (trot, canter) knows the efford it takes for the rider. I changed the minds of many ignorant people when I threw them on a horse and lunged the heck out of them and disabled their leg muscles for days to come. :D

Too many people seem to prefer telling others what to do in the horse world rather than enjoying horses. She doesnt have a helmet? Well people have been riding horses for 1000s of years without helmets, sure they can get hurt, but we all judge risks, otherwise youd wear a bullet proof vest everywhere, and wrap yourself with bubble wrap. its not illegal to ride without one, and quire frankly for me, helmets just cause me to be distracted and cause mistakes. Her saddle moves a bit? GOOD! Saddles are supposed to move, I mean, do you tighten a backpack or your belt up as much as you can everyday? I tighten the saddle up just enough that I can mount. If you fall off its because of your balance, not the saddle not being tight enough, be an adult and accept that you are the problem sometimes, and that you have to work to get better. Heck, shes even using the least damaging bit there is (still not a fan of bits, but if you are going to use a bit, one with no leverage is the way to go). Frankly shes doing a lot of right and not much wrong, leave her alone and enjoy the video. I know Im a bit of a hypocrite telling people what to do and all, but man it just gets too much. Its for reasons like this I never post horse vids

This comment being 7 years old ain't gonna stop me, since when was history an argument for anything, there are MANY things we humans have done for thousands of years that have turned out to not be good, I don't give a shit if someone wears a helmet, but don't make ignorant people think it's not dangerous or absolutely stupid to not wear a helmet, not everyone would like to be a vegetable in the hospital. While helmets can create a false sense of security, they do in fact protect what is between the ears, though it seems to me like you got none if your only reasons are distractions and mistakes. Just be honest and say it looks ugly, that it doesn't fit the "cowboy style" or whatever. Also, there ain't gonna be any adulting or acceptance if you fall off and hit your head really badly. You probably won't be able to.

    • @frogbear02
      @frogbear02 7 місяців тому

@@Phoenix.Sparkles Nor should it being 7 years old stop you; the comment can still be read by, and thus affect people in present times just as much as it could back then so of course its just as relevant to reply to.
That being said, my opinions have shifted over those 7 years. I completely and 100% agree that helmets ought to be worn. Its silly not to, and honestly most of the excuses people give as to why they dont wear them are just that, excuses. Even my claim that its distracting was honestly kinda BS in hindsight, and getting older and growing wiser has changed my opinions for the better. Wear helmets for the same reason you wear a seatbelt everyone!

also, to those few people who say "the reins were too tight, or the saddle wasn't fitted right." Baloney!! Have you ever ridden a flat out gallop? You don't just drop the reins and HOPE your horse behaves! you keep the reins tight enough that if anything happened, you can pull up quickly. As for the saddles. All the saddles were fitted perfectly, they didn't slide around at all.

You’re so lucky you got a chance to bond with a horse! I’m so sorry you hurt your hip, your horse must’ve been stressed out to fall back on top of you.
But I have a stupid question that’s sort of off topic. (Keep in mind that I’ve never really ridden a horse, but I’ve gone on trails with a group and I generally know how to control and steer a horse. But I’m still an idiot and Inexperienced when it comes to horses) when you’re riding, does the horse know to avoid something in front of it in order to not run into anything? Or does the horse leave it up to you to steer it away from things?

You're an amazing rider Kristy! To be able to hold a camera, and fix up your hat at the same time going at that speed was incredible! You were going no handed for a second at an incredible speed! I mean I love galloping my horses and going fast but I could never go no handed at that speed. I can go no handed but only at a canter! Well done! It looks like you had lots of fun!

Remember these mighty creatures went to wars, empires were created because of them. Horses transported explorers and immigrants, hauled heavy loads on their backs, they were the animals that shaped the course of human history and they deserve our love and respect

so before a few weeks ago I had never even trotted on horseback but I have been around horses and walked long trail rides and done tack. the other day I went with some older folks and we trotted up to the top of a mountain and then galloped between 2 lakes, it was so beautiful and I have no idea how I stayed on, now I want to buy a horse but they're way to expensive and there's hardly anywhere to board where I live 😂

Kayla Ohse I've been doing English for 9 months I didn't really enjoy it but tried really hard to. Yesterday I did my first western lesson I galloped poles and barrels. Everyone was like "WOW she's gonna be a rodeo star" 😂😂😂 once my mom saw how fast I picked it up she said we're getting me a horse I've never been this happy TBH western is so fun

6 years ago,we had a mare, and we lived in thw city, she was amazing ,we took her on rides every day, unfortunately, she broke her shoulder I think,so we gave her to a zoo that had horses,we just bought her daughter who we sold six years ago!!
Moral of the story, you can get a horss in the city,if you have somewhere to keep it,
Ps we lived in an apartment, and were almost broke...

About a few months ago me and my horse, diva were going for a gallop in our field. It was my 3rd time galloping, and I was sooo nervous. Me and my friend Tessa were both going, and she was leading. Once it was time, something was wrong, diva was bucking, and I was terrified. I got bucked off, trampled over, and I couldn’t breath. I passed out, and when I woke up my friend was carrying me. I cracked my rib, and was in Severe pain. No matter how much pain I was in, the one thing I was worried about was my horse. The next day when I got to the barn, I got right back on. I didn’t want the fact that I got hurt, to push my favorite thing away. When I watch videos like this, severe pain. I have very bad anxiety, and the more and more I do stuff that has to do with riding, the stronger I get. I want anyone who reads this to remember, that if you don’t do it today I could set you back a week, a month, maybe even a year. Try your hardest to make your goals, and succeed. I'm insanely jealous. The horses I ride are right in the middle of farmers. Nothing but plowed fields for miles. No trails, no trees, no grass. Just dirt. If I had access to land like what was in the video, I would be in heaven

The best feeling is when your galloping and you just put your hands in the air close your eyes and it’s just you and your horse you feel free like nothing can hurt you especially whenever you let go of the reins to put the hands up you have a lot of trust I have a 3 1/2 yr old gelding named buck and I trust him with my life I’m a barrel racer so kinda have to trust your horse no matter what

The feel of galloping is magic! My stable was doing a race while i was cantering bareback around our arena (the most bony horse at the stable!!!) and they asked if i wanted to join and i did. I was only going to canter but i the let the horse go all out and full on gallop fast as ever! it was amazing!!!

    WOW! Real Beauty!!
FYI for those watching, these riders seam very experienced, but in general riding a full gallop on hard ground like on the trail (not the grass) is pretty risky especially without a helmet, and especially since the ground is uneven and the horse could easily lose footing slightly, enough to send you right over his shoulder and into the unyielding ground. (Not hating just saying for ppl that may not realize, shouldn’t try it unless you know what your doing)

People that are saying that horse riding is a sport, its is not true nor fake because horseriding is actually used alot more to help calm the minds of the people that are disabled, and Is also a very calming experience for people, so yes it is a sport too but not fully, also the riding skill is amazing! The horses training seems to be used from a very experienced person!
