Amir Olumroti they weren't boring. never boring but the people wanted to the new drills Haymer and the crew had come up. let's be clear, no college can do it like them but this just wasn't time for traditional SU a far a drills go. as for song selection and sound quality they on point. still wish they would just go to all gold tubas and drop the fiber glass

Dancing Dolls always will be soft and elegant, they barely bring me any fierce
If you want them to buck, it's not gonna happen.. Jazz and ballet is a soft, elegant, but harder dance style. That's why most steer away from. It they choreography is better than other squads
I'm fine wit them not bucking but sometimes I would like to see a little sassy attitude, Dolls will always be a Top 5-10 danceline .
SU is a fan of The 100 I see.
Best overall show!! No outside gimmicks. Great sound, precision, and execution! Every song they played was perfectly arranged. Good job JUKEBOX!

Southern for years has disregarded honda they didn't think it was important, but now since Haymar has taken charge he is starting to get I vole with other hbcu bands

Tristan Vaiile No that's not wrong. Mr. Jackson chose not to do it after 2010. He told the band that on several occasions. When Mr. Haymer took helm he chose to do it again. Don't speak on shit you know nothing of.
If you don't know ask somebody, before you say something real unintelligent. When you are doing a drill your instruments and band members aren't facing in the same direction, and be for real you are just hating.

What band do you know that has the volume marching, as do standing still all facing forward and not spread out all over the field. You don't know all the variables that affect the marching band sounds. You haters and disgusting. Give credit when credit is warranted.
Exactly they don't understand that they do way more drilling than any other HBCU band especially the ones that were there, honestly Southern did the absolute best at Honda and there was really no competition
Exactly. Notice how much louder they got in the "S" formation, with everyone within the 40's and facing the stands. Or, the blow'n part of "What's going On". This is simple stuff, but folks let their bias blind them.

The only status su has reached is facebook, Travel multiple times cross seas and play for a variety of presidents then get repeated invites to superbowls then and ONLY then brag. Loud as hell and clowing on the field does NOT make one a success but if your bets are in the black community i guess it does. Holla

When it's all said and done SU is still the best band regardless. When your favorite band does something that's remotely close of being talk worthy I'll give them their due. Until I'll stick to the facts that I have so stated. You have a wonderful and blessed life.
That...dolls routine... 1) Even though I hate props, if you're going to use one, commit to it, don't just use it for 2 seconds 2) They need to work on their technique because every single turn and leap in this routine was terrible.
+Kory Kent I just watched the routine after reading your comment. I did not see terrible leaps as your stated. I realized that this is the 2014 team. Five of these ladies did not return this year. The 2015 team has 5 new beautiful talented dolls. I agree with you about the prop usage. I am not a fan of props either. I know they use the parasol during home games for a New Orleans swing tune. The DDs are my favorite college team and they have the best director ever - D'Tara.

Im a Bethune Cookman grad and all I have to say is dem Jags was drillin! I really enjoyed the show but sometimes Southern can get a little sloppy in their playing, overall great show. The dance routine was very entertaining I wish it was longer. What is the song they were playing for their sideline blowout?
OK they were drilling but who puts down their instruments to Dance? BCU Don't do that
I agree I don't like when bands put their instruments on the ground.
East coast was in the house, SU put down with their arrangements of songs, they know how to capture the audience I enjoyed BC performance. Now with that being said JSU show was a talent show. All those singers, really, all they needed was a soul train line. And the fans always talking about loudness, what has that got to do with good musicianship. Southern Playing "I Wish" to perfection, well let's just say they smashed it. NOW ASK YOURSELF WHY HAS NATHAN HYMER BEEN INVITED TO THE 57TH GRAMMY AWARDS. I WAIT

It's interesting how all of that powerful sound seems to disappear when they begin to march!
No hate; I'm just saying. Great sound but as much as I enjoy the visual, it's a shame that their unique marching concept prohibits them from sustaining such a strong sound as when they stand still.
Sideline entrance and exit was very effective though...

A big part of that is that most of the bands elected to use the on field mics for their show and SU did not. Brass instruments sound carries in the direction they are facing, by using mics the sound is uniform no matter which direction the band is facing.
Alex C, Thanks for that info! I knew there had to be something wrong on the field that day because you could hear just about every other band clearly throughout. This makes sense...
Though I am a proud B-TONE EXPRESS 02'-03' Member of the 100.. I don't hold any hate towards my brothers and sisters over at Southern University. Shiii'.... They loud as hell!

Alex C Lies Lies Lies All bands had mic's and if you want to be real BCU was the loudest band if you don't believe me ask SU they were giving them props while they were performing...I was there in person ASU.SU,JSU and BCU were the LOUDEST

No they didn't ... They pull bits and pieces from other shows and added new material to the show. If u was a SU fan u would know haymer said that's how he was gonna create the show..

Wether your fan or not, it's obvious............ we've caught your attention more than enough, for you to try and say, we've done this show before. Lol, first of all............. it's 14+minutes of a show..............the average football half-time show is about 7 minutes, each band??? So you're wrong even on that part and not to mention.............the other parts that were added here and there to increase another 7 minutes. And I guess you saw the HONDA spelled out also before??? I guess we performed that against JSU in Jackson huh or the Bayou Classic against GSU in New Orleans, lol. SWAC: SU won MEAC: NCAT won I really cant judge swac vs meac as these are two totally different styles of drilling and to all these TC fans who keep tryna compare and or compete with SU what conference y'all in I'll wait. Im sure TC do not feel this way but TC fans make it seem like Miguel in the band room telling his band they have to beat SU. ok so what school do either one of you go to? jackson state fans are the ONLY ones who have said anything negative about su at the honda.. hell even the meac (who never cares for su) been showin love.. ijs why everybody gotta hate.. what other school has attempted the L drill? who marches with percision like su? it was a band showcase! where you showcase your precision, and musicianship. and thats exactly what su did.. and to say its boring means that you ignored all of that and went to hating.. name a current arranger who is on Haymer's level! you cant tell me that i wish i wasnt, wasnt beautiful... give props where theyre due.. jackson is one of our only competition.. they had a solid show.. i didnt agree with the different performances.. "too much of a good thing can be a bad thing" although they had people come out and perform.. in that setting, it can take away from the bands performance, and can drag the show out.. which it did.. and just being reall that little boy got zero house for jackson.. and he was off key.. but i guess im hating bc im stating facts.. for the show to be so damn boring, he sure watched it and took the time to comment... now unless u want to state some facts.. gtf.. bc u both sound like haters

The excuses and so-called damage control the Jukebox gives when their performances are not up to par, are endless... But they blew everyone out huh...smh
you sound so crazy you really want to hate on the jukebox but remember one thing they will always be number 1 do your research see which band has the most followers and I guarantee it's the Jukebox
