Skip to 5:44 to see what has happened to the 1972 vintage Dover elevators in the annex wing of the Chemistry Building at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, so that would be directly easier for y'all. This was quite an editing I had made!
This is the reason why I don't like losing vintage elevators at a campus like Texas A&M or the University of Arizona... They would use the same fixtures that all of the other elevators would use... once you see those fixtures, you pretty much have seen all of the elevators with those same buttons...
...over and over again. Yeah. You're right, Jay. It's like repeating continuously. Like I said, I am just done with the modded elevators right now. This was filmed last summer. I only filmed it to go down and leave. Never ever will this thing be seen again.
nice to see some still original elevators but the mod in the Chemistry Annex can be summed up in one word: YUCK! Congrats on 20K subscribers by the way!
I've heard that the 1972 Dover elevators were having a lot of issues and breaking down a lot. I talked to a student who studied in this building. Appears that most of the city owned properties don't know how to maintain their elevators on a regular basis I believe. Also, parts were really hard to get for old elevators is why they chose to mod them.
Well here's the thing, parts are actually harder to find to maintain old elevators in one of the major reasons why they get modded or ripped out. If they have the necessary parts (which I doubt for the most part), most of the old elevators would've lasted at least more.
Very Nice Dovers, DISGUSTING MODDED ONES ON THE OTHER WING!!! I really hope they don't mod the first ones you rode!!! I've had enough of these disgusting mods and replacements!!!
OMG!! What a TOTAL regret!! Doing the same thing like PSU!! UGH!! I hate PTL!! This is such a MAD BS TOTAL KICKOFF!! They malfunction a lot, they break & glitch a lot!! THIS IS WHY THE OLD ONES ARE SOOO MUCH BETTER THEN THE MODDED ONES!! Okay. I'm sorry I'm overreacting but hey, THIS IS ANOTHER BIG EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU DON'T MODERNIZE ELEVATORS!!!! Same with that OTIS Black Button Elevator!! You guessed it!! They were mods!! Ugh I'm gonna throw up lol jk 😂😂 but I'm just sooo disappointed about this. They ran just fine!!
I have been on like 5-6 elevators at Texas A&M University with this exact same fixture, it getting me a headache seeing this stuff repeatedly. Also, there’s a dentistry building in my area that’s also getting the exact same PTL fixtures. Videos will be uploading later next month.
That's true. 😭😭 My area in Oregon wants Innovation, Washington State wants EPCO & Adams, Cali wants ERM, Nevada & Las Vegas wants MAD, & Texas wants PTL. I lost a 1970 Montgomery G&P Elevator at PSU but at least I have an Intermediate Station
The only exception I can take from modernization is when an elevator is like severely vandalized and falling apart, then that is an example of an elevator that badly needs a mod. If it breaks constantly and people are unable to find parts to fix it, that would be needlessly be an exceptions for modernization.
UniformBlock20 Rosello Yeah, but their quality is very poor, ride is very slow, cheaply made materials bought directly from foreign countries (NOT American made), and they aren’t built to last. Old elevators are a thousand times FAR MORE better than modern elevators. The new elevators are already designed to fall apart shortly.

Those 1972 Dovers had old Monitor fixtures too! That's very rare (for Dover)!
Congrats on 20,000 btw!!
Thanks! :D
Way to go Texas A&M. I can’t believe it... 😢😢😢
I remember that happens at my high school
When did renovations start in the chem building? Haven’t had a class there in a. Couple of years
I assume it probably started like a little earlier this year ago.
I just cannot believe these got modded😪😪😪😓😓😓
If This Makes You Feel Better, I Did Film Some Cool Elevators Yesterday and Today. Check Them Out Whenever
Oh no
I would have rather seen a vintage 1972 Dover however they wouldn’t mod an elevator for no reason they must have had a reason to mod
I never got to ride the vintage 1972 Dover’s :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I know you don't like the mod, but nothing lasts forever.
The new mod isn't gonna last.

Nice Video. But They Should Have Kept the Dover Original. But Sometimes a Mod is Needed to Be UP to Code

JimLiElevators Yea. It’s Hard Finding Old Parts On An Old Elevator Nowadays
@@dmvelevators I agree with you, Darius.
JimLiElevators Thank You. I Hate When Vintage Elevators Are Ripped Out. But at the Same Time, We Can’t Do Anything About Them Being Ripped Out
The biological science building elevators will get modded next after the chemistry annex
The passenger was already modded, but the freight is still original.
I am sorry for that but old elevators don’t last forever. ☹️

That is the worst mod ever! I give this modernization an F- as a grade! Do you agree with that?!
YES
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Very Nice Dovers, DISGUSTING MODDED ONES ON THE OTHER WING!!! I really hope they don't mod the first ones you rode!!! I've had enough of these disgusting mods and replacements!!!
Screams! Bad modernization.
What a disgusting mod for the 1972 vintage Dover elevators. 👎😡
you know what to say about this modern
DISLIKE FOR THE MODERN
That's soo ugly for a mod
It is in deed. Same thing happened when I tried to film a Montgomery elevator at the Luis Muñoz Marin Airport in Carolina PR.
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Oh my actual gosh 😣😣 another horrid mod. Another old elevator ruined. At this rate, all elevators will be modded. So annoying
Getting sick and tired of the mods.
Same. Why do they have to spoil such good elevators?
The only exception I can take from modernization is when an elevator is like severely vandalized and falling apart, then that is an example of an elevator that badly needs a mod. JimLiElevators true. Some mods of bad elevators do improve them but not on good elevators
Woohoo modernization
You like the mod!?
UniformBlock20 Rosello Woohoo Modernization NOT!!
JimLiElevators I think that modernization help the elevator run more smoothly
UniformBlock20 Rosello Yeah, but their quality is very poor, ride is very slow, cheaply made materials bought directly from foreign countries (NOT American made), and they aren’t built to last. UniformBlock20 Rosello Screw Modernizations!!
