I will still eat bagel bites any time. I never knew this story and I am glad these guys made good money off of a good idea. My dad owned a bagel store in the 1990s and made pizza bagels for customers when this food trend hit.
My family and I sing that “PIZZA IN THE MORNING” bagel bite jingle every-dang-time that we have cold pizza for breakfast.
It was a fancy concept cheapened by a corporation. Its crazy to even imagine they were originally meant to be hors d'oeuvres

Why did we think bagels were healthy in the 90s? 😂 I remember thinking they were good for you (not bagel bites, but bagels specifically)
I've never even heard of them. They don't exist here in Australia, afaik, although regular bagels do.
They haven't changed the box design since the 80's have they lol.
