I know a lot of people cover Nikko, but I'd really love to see the gang tackle Nikko. I'm planning my first trip in November and when I went to look up trains to Nikko, it looked INSANELY complicated. Everyone's videos make it look so easy but they never explain how! Would love to see it handled the way you've been handling these other videos :)

@@kapdragon I second a Nikko-themed video! I've always wanted to go, but as you said it kind of seemed out of the way/confusing. Would love to see the Tokyo Creative take on a Nikko day trip!

So many memories seeing you visiting Hakone. The Odakyu desk at Shinjuku station, Hakone station, Hakone Shrine, the 'pirate' ferry and the illuminated garden have hardly changed since i went in October 2015. I saw this video on my home page and it makes me really happy! Hakone was one of the places I went on my week trip to Japan and I loved it. Going on the pirate ship was really cool, and while I missed my chance to eat the black eggs (because I wasn’t sure if the package I saw was it until I saw the sign out front when we left), being up there was a really neat experience. I would definitely go back when I get the chance. I got such great memories from watching this!

About "Romancecar" name per Odakyu Electric Railway: There is no record of when or how that name was established. One theory is that the term is derived from an old trend in places such as movie theaters for two-person seats, which were called “romance seats”.

My nephew and I went on holiday to Tokyo and I insisted on a side trip to Hakone. I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit the spiritual home of Evangelion. We were a bit wary about riding the romance train. Spotting sights from the show was amazing. I spent most of my money in the Eva store. I ate the weird green tea and sweet potato Eva icecream. Fortunately my nephew ended up enjoying the detour too. We got to stay in a ryokan and see a more rural side of Japan. It made for a nice contrast in the middle of our holiday.

There's so much to do there and I barely did anything on my day trip because I didn't stay overnight to save money. I regret it. I went to a bakery for some beef stew in a bread bowl, so good. I went to the lake and walked along it, saw the shrine too. And for the longest time I was by myself walking along the lake, it was quiet, no one around, and I absolutely loved it. But eventually, I got tired and just wanted to get to an onsen at a hotel that has a view of Mt. Fuji but I learned that that bus in the video will not take you there. I had to learn the hard way. So I just rode the bus back all the way to the beginning and went to an onsen right by the station. It was amazing. I did the onsen, got a facial, and a traditional Japanese meal.

I've done this fantastic day trip: surely the highlight is seeing snow-capped Mount Fuji but, apart from a brief shot, you didn't even mention it- maybe with living in Japan you've seen it enough times?...

I have to say, Shiori is too cute. It has to be a crime. Great video and great hosts. Keep it up guys. Also, sorry that you had to be the Camera Guy, CEO Senpai.

We went there last summer. Loved the beautiful lake view and the onsen experience, but there were sooo many loud Chinese tourists.

Hakone is just incredible. Was worth the extra money to stay at Ashinoko Hanaori.
I don't judge her for early beer. Every time I go, I have beer in hand by 5am.

Had a 1 day trip to Hakone just two days ago, beautiful weather, saw the amazing outdoor museum near Gora. Buuut.. The trip ended before time when the ropeway suspended all travel because of windy weather.. and we didn't have time to get around to the lake using the busses.. will try again next time I'm in Japan.

Will go there with my Parents in May after the Kanda/Sanja matsuri. We will rent a car to drive from Tokyo to Hakone and from there to kawaguchiko to view Mount Fuji. After that we drive back to Tokyo to activate our rail ways passes and go south west. I have to say this helps a little bit to show my parents what we can do there.

Hakone is a nice place. If you have a car, I'd recommend driving Hakone turnpike (箱根ターンパイク, basically a bypath road that goes over Hakone mountains without going into the town of Hakone), just to go to a rest stop at the top and have a view of the lake Ashi and mount Fuji from the Taikanzan view point there (大観山展望台).
Izu peninsula is also nice place, just south of Hakone. Not as accessible as Hakone, but I prefer Izu if I have a car.
