Thanks again pass got cheaper with dollar strong. I just did all the rope and gondola ones. Now museums. Got 3 day pass. In between rain or cloudy days it’s worth it. Love your easy to follow videos.
Really cool video! Looks like such a nice area to visit, been on the list for a while. I'll be coming back to these videos whenever I'm finally planning my next trip :D:D
Came to hakone from Kyoto today, but still got the free pass, just the transportation alone is worth the price. But the buses are super slow especially when there is only 1 lane in all the twisty mountain roads. Thanks for the video though!
Which way is better to see the Mt Fuji, Chureito Pagoda, and trip on the pirate boat . Departing from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko Station or Hakone station
I used to go to Hakone all the time as a teenager. Back then,to me ,a bit boring as I wanted to go to more exciting places ! Lol My parents booked Prince hotel cottages .1 for me & a friend ,then another one for my sis & her friend & 3rd one for themselves .I remember it was always chilly ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Very informative. I wonder if you would get more views if 'Mount Fuji' was in the title. It is a good video for those seeking info about where to go to get a view.
hi! thanks for all the information.if my bags are dropped off at the hakone yumoto station baggage service will it reach our Hakone hotel on the same day? will I have to book this service online? Also is a there a one day pass available?
Hi there! Yes your luggage will reach the hotel on the same day. We dropped our bags off in the morning and by the time we got to our hotel in the afternoon, they were there. You can use the baggage service on the day, no need to book online 😊 For the Hakone Freepass, there's just a 2 or 3-day option.
I don't really want to be locked down to a specific time for the RomanceCar can I buy a ticket for the romanceCar ticket and the Hakone pass at Shinjuku on the day? If I remember right there is a Hakone related travel/information centre there? Thanks.
Yes that's right, there's the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center in Shinjuku where you can pick up RomanceCar tickets and the Hakone Freepass on the day. The morning and evening RomanceCar trains are used for commuting so they can get quite busy. We recommend booking in advance for peace of mind, but if you do want to pick up tickets on the day, trains outside the commuting time would be the best bet 😊
@@tokyocheapo thank you. I picked up the hakone pass from Klook. Looks like it includes a one way ticket on the romanceCar, so similar question - can I buy a ticket on the romance car from hakone(I assume yes with all the usual caveats).
how long do you think is sufficient to complete the hakone counter clockwise loop? I also want to visit gotemba outlet and plan to do all in one day from Tokyo. what time do you recommend to start at Hakone Station and the last transport going back from Hakone Station to Odawara and transfer to Shinkansen back to Tokyo? Thanks!
Hi there! Completing the Hakone loop itself will probably take most of the day - around 6 hours if you want to stop and see the sights at each spot. So it might be too much to combine it with a trip to Gotemba outlet in the same day.
@@tokyocheapo thanks for replying. maybe I need to jump start the loop earlier first or cut few stops and visit the outlet at the latest until closing time.
Very nice video. You mentioned that when you take the bus to Lake Ashi, you can walk along Old Tokaido road to the teahouse or south to Onshi Hakone Park. Can you give an approximate time of how long it would take to walk to the teahouse (not sure how long this walk really is)? I realize it naturally depends on how fast you walk, but I'm just trying to get an idea of whether it is an hour walk or whatever. Also since I didn't know how big Hakone Park is, I was wondering how long it typically takes to walk around. Thanks, Ron
Hi Ron! It took us about 40 minutes to walk from Motohakone to the teahouse one-way. Alternatively, it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to Onshi-Hakone Park where you could probably spend another 30-40 minutes walking around.
There's no easy, direct route unfortunately. You can take a local bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station or Gora to Gotemba Shopping Outlet and then change buses to one that'll take you to Kawaguchiko.

Glad to hear you're having a good time!
Fun! Enjoyed this so much! Looking forward to another one from you! Thanks!
Very helpfull and clear
Plus i loved the cats lol❤❤

What's the best way to go from Hakone to Kawaguchico station or vice-versa? Is the Hakone Mt Fuji pass worth buying? thank you :))

Thanks for the suggestion! That's a good point - Hakone is a great place for Fuji views 😊
What do you recommend
Hakone or kawaguchiko
If I have 1 day
Hi, going through the Hakone loop as a day trip, say approx 8hrs, do you think it’s possible to include visiting the open air museum? Thanks

@@tokyocheapo Does the baggage service work for all hotels in Hakone or only in select areas/hotel chains?
What time should we aim to get to the Tori gate before the crowds build?
Did they deliver your luggage to Gora to your hotel?
Is the bus to Lake Ashi included in the Hakone Pass?
Yes it is 😊

Hakone is beautiful and interesting, but sadly its not really a Cheapo area in my books...
You guys are awesome… great guide ❤
Hi! Great video 😍 Do we need to reserve seats for sightseeing cruise? Could u share the link for the cruise timetable plse?
The timetable is halfway down this page on the official website:
