If Americans had a false sense of security, that would suggest we often let our guard down thinking we're safe when there is danger. Perhaps that's true, but I fail to see how it has any relevance to this video. The Bodyguard just acted as he saw fit when a man ran at the person he was protecting.

The bodyguards don't see a fan with pen and paper, they see a threat. They reacted literally as he ran to her. They didn't have chance to see the pen and paper, so they reacted in the right way. When someone is really famous, they become targets for silly people, which is why there is a need for a bodyguard.
I'm sure if they had time to see that it was just a fan over reacting, they would have handled it very differently.
But I thought he was holding a pen and paper...

Also known for use of excessive force. There was one incident where he encountered a fan on the stage. He _should_ have escorted the fan off and made clear verbally that he was not to come back up. And he could've done so. But no. He threw the fan to the ground and broke his legs.
So I'm starting to speculate that the use of a greater level of force against fans than is necessary may be a Dutch thing. I could be wrong, but it's a pattern I've noticed.

Those bodyguards were doing their job, violent or non violent. The only flaw they did was letting Lady Gaga out their sight, I know it was only a few seconds for the one bodyguard to return to Lady, but as someone who is currently in Training to be a Protection Agent, you NEVER move away from your client. One guy should have handled the threat while the other grabs Lady and takes her out of harms way
If you are really training to be a CPO, then you need to be aware of reality. Having run a service for 20 years, its not all kevin costner style. Your presence is not needed if you can just walk away with the mark while someone else does the clean up. The security guard did his job in stopping the attack, he then had her in his sight the whole time while conducting a further risk assesment of the area, even as he returned to her side ...she was never left vulnerable for a second. Copybook job. He did just enough for his part, while not getting too involved with the threat, making the mark a bigger target.
They failed to do their job. First the guy on the left didnt check properly his side and let the fan to get inside the range of dealing damage (in case its was an attack). Second the guy on the right who went to assist left the VIP unprotected when his job during a critical situation is to escorte her to safety.
They were just doing their jobs but they could have done it just by pushing him out of the way, violence wasn't nesecary

That wasn't unnecessary. Guy runned like crazy with a pen on his hand which could do serious damage. It's impossible to stop running man who tries to run through you, without using power.

The bodyguards are just doing their job. If YOU saw someone running towards the person you’re supposed to protect, would you get him off or let him go even if there’s a chance that he would have a weapon or something. They don’t have time to tell the difference between a fan or a threat when the person is running at her like that. Good job on their part. 👏🏻

You know Lady Gaga isn't an unknown act, she is world famous and a global icon. Her safety is #1 and when bodyguards are paid to protect an international superstar they have to be alert. When a random guy is running up to Gaga they have to protect, you never know someone could be a creeper

3. He was trespassing on private property. Any establishment bans hounds from gathering on their property and rightly so.
If your job is to keep someone safe and you see someone charging in on that person from their blindspot with a number of objects which you cant possibly identify immediately, its part of your job. So yes, absolutely yes, the bodyguard did a great job.

the people in agreemance with the body gaurds are neither right nor wrong as for the people in defense of the man with the paper are neither right nor wrong. Why? well for the most part the argument in favor of the bodyguard is mostly true. They are paid to protect Lady Gaga from harm ...and that is text book on how you do it. enough time for a body guard to stop and think about his reaction is enough time for the target to get hurt from the slow thinking. so you cannot pass judgment on these bodyguards on this instance. However this video does not prove that even if they had know the man was clearly not a threat that they wouldn't do the same thing. for all in all they could be 2 assholes that look for people to give them reasons to slam em against a wall and put a knee on the back of there noggin. I cannot condemn what they did here. however we don't know enough about there character to praise them for there behavior neither.
