  • so you have garden beds and now it's spring...what the heck do you do, how to get started! Here are links to some of the tools I used...the tine and digger are no longer available in the same style I used so I got as close as I could.
My first choice for finding tools is at Estate Sales and Thrift Stores, often these old tools are donated or sold for pennies on the dollar!
Fiskars Hand Pick (Fiskars has an EXCELLENT warranty): amzn.to/3Uuzrpl
Barebones Hori Hori (don't get a cheaper model unless you are just trying it out...it will break as there is so much pressure used on this tool) amzn.to/3WalXjD
4 tine garden rake/hoe (look for these old ones at estate sales): amzn.to/4aJrUsp

Since I do alot of burying compost, that's how I do my fluff. Always burying something. Worms are everywhere

Lovely. Unsure if the ice has gone for now. I built a new rock garden bed. Dragging stones out of the earth is … fun

Many people mix pineapples with squash and can it for drinking.
The idea is that the squash is more of a extender.
Have you combined orange juice and squash ? maybe add mango too ?
I like pulp, so I was thinking I could puree yellow squash to add pulp.
thanks in advance. Maybe to start I can can the squash in a generic way
then I can puree it or use it differently at that time ? 2 have you measured ph
and added lemon juice or citric acid to be able to can something like this ?

I have never had a drink like that but i'd like to try. I'm a by the book canner (for the most part) so I usually try and find an approved recipe unless I believe science supports another method. There is a faux pineapple squash recipe...I wonder if it could be blended up and maybe some fresh juice added when drank? Squash is a low acid food to it needs to be pressure canned on it's own, but with the pineapple it can be WB canned: www.simplycanning.com/canning-zucchini-in-pineapple-juice/

@@OldSchoolPrepper I have never canned store bought stuff before, except for orange mango juice that my club store carried. It is pretty nice once in a while, to stick a pint jar in the fridge without having to drink a gallon before it expires. Yes that link you posted is what many people do to use up zukes and got me thinking....
