hi Vick, oldie but a goodie...this method works from huge above ground garden beds to 1 gallon pots. Glad you got to see this. :)

I love this method, Thanks for the reminder and also I added a lot of limbs and branches in my large, raised beds a few years ago... it's amazing how I have not needed to add any fertilizer at all for the plants I have in those such as banana plants, my climbing Hops, and a variety of herbs such as Bay laurel, and some other hardwood items. I am in Oregon, so gardening is a mental escape as much as anything :)

I love this and we did it last year with our raised tomato garden! This year we are getting ready to add soil since it did sink a bit. Saved us a lot of money

Good reuse. Can use fallen trees for the walls

agreed, you can even use nothing for walls...I have a friend that just uses dirt over the top of logs and lets them rot while she plants in the top and sides of the dirt pile. I've done it myself a time or two but I do like the neatness of a good side, but you do with what you have. :)

This is what I do. Only drawback is its a favorite of fire ants so you gotta get in there and constantly mess with them so they move out

It's been years since I've had an ant issue...but this year they've set up in part of my wood chip garden...boo!

Sprinkle some Borax around the edges and you are golden :)
