First of all girl you made me click on this video faster than Jackie Joyner Kersee. I currently have medium knotless box braids and planning on taking my hair down tonight! Even though it will take longer than 20 minutes it is the creativity for me sis! It will still cut the time down some!! Usually medium size takes me about 2-3 hours alone, usually have my husband help me. Lol Thank you both!! lol BLACK GIRL MAGIC ✨
It’s all fun and games until you want these damn braids out. I want them out like this very minute. I’m going to start the process now and hope for the best 🤦🏽♀️
Okay this didn’t take me 20 minutes but honestly it took me 4 hours to take out my smedium knotless braids. This hack definitely cuts a lotttt of time!
I most definitely will try this when I take down my box braids but with a larger comb, conditioner and water. Because it always takes me longer than 8 hrs to take mine down because of my hair type and a lot of hair on my head.
As I was getting ready to take out my box braids I found your video. Thank you so much for the straightforward and realistic advice on how to speed up the process of taking out box braids!! You save me so much time with this tutorial
I get small feed ins. I usually take down the middle all week and pull in a bun until I have 2 rows on the perimeter and handle that on the weekend. I can't be bothered to sit 6 hours to remove my braids.
Yup! That’s me!!!! All week long! Using covid as an excuse just to have time off from the world - just to take out my box braids! My poor man been watching me through this entire crazy picky head process!😩😄😋😘
Haven't taken these current box braids out. But my previous ones I got out quick. The real hack is to french braids the braids. Two french braids for smedium knotless. Then I cut, lower than I needed and unbraid, and use the comb for each of the three braided sections on each side. Took be under 90 minutes. Your welcome. ☺
I never braided my hair before until this year and the first time I took it out it took me 9 hours lol I feel like this brushing them out technique will really help this time! Thank you for sharing ❤
I took down my braids yesterday after having them in for 1 month and 2 days . My daughter said that they still look good which they did , but it was time to take them down, she did a good job . Kids helped me so it took 2 and half hours.
I have braids to calves , med. my hair is to my butt of my own. One thing I do is put coconut oil on tops to let soak so easier to comb out when braid is gone and just pull oil through braids so it’s slick to unwind. Used to take me 5 hrs w oil 3.5
I usually take my back down and twist it and then tuck it under a ponytail. It stops the headaches I get from the dead hair. The weight of 100 strands adds up daily and you don't even know
I'd be very interested to see how it works for you if you used a much wider tooth comb like the original video did. Also some oil and/or water for lubrication. Just some thoughts after spending hundreds of hours trying different things on my daughter's hair.
Girl thanks to you i done my hairs like in 2 hours ussaly it take a day. Sharing this method really help me out take my braids off quicker and good luck to ur 100K subscriber
Since I'm a child, I have smaller and faster hands and my moms. So it is pretty easy for me to take out my braids. For me it has to take 40 to 30 minutes to the max
My braids takes like 2 hours to take down. Not bad since they usually take like 5 to finish. I usually get mini's since my hair is thick and kinky. It's a relaxing time no lie
Took me less than two hours to take down 24in long, medium/small braids. My real hair length is layered but my longest strands at the bottom reach my lower back.
I have had mine for 4 and a half months. It's a record. I just perm the roots. I know it's crazy but I treat by braids like my own hair. About to deep condition!
For box braids girl about 1 hour it depends how big there are or you take breaks for locs I takes about 24 hours cause I take breaks on top of breaks … box braids are easy !
Here’s to the strong neck 🤣🤣. I would be rockin that after braid look too, I love big hair! P.s. I have never worn braids🤷🏾♀️. Glad this technique worked somewhat.
I think the method could work if your hair is really short and you have a very specific hair texture I think the thickness of your braids also matters. If only this could work for all braids😂
Let me tell you taking out braided hair is a full-time job on its own! When I go to the salon, it takes them four hours to put in my braids. every time I go to take them down on my own it takes me about two hours sometimes two hours and 30 minutes. The last time my roommates car had broken down and he asked if I could give him his girlfriend a ride to Walmart. I was in the middle of taking out my box braids, but I still took them to the store. I’m literally walking around the store while taking out the rest of my box braids 😂😂
It takes me 8 hours cause I get the small box braids I looked this video up cause I’m about to take them down today and it’s 4pm I’m timing everything 😂
Thank you for sharing! This method actually worked for me! I have thick, bra strap length hair and cut down time on taking my braids out!
So happy to hear that! What was the total time?

Tell him to grab a comb! Then you’ll be done in 20 minutes FOR REAL! 🤣
Not JJK! Lol we know how fast that was! Lol
Baby when you found that last braid 😂😂😂 It legit takes me all day to do anything to my head because I be playing and taking like 1800 breaks lol
I KNEW sis was lying 😩😩😩
😂😂😂
Right
The comb in the video had wider teeth though.
Currently 6 hours deep into taking out my small knotless braids watching this video 💀😭
So the method didnt work for you?
Same, sis same😅
It’s all fun and games until you want these damn braids out. I want them out like this very minute. I’m going to start the process now and hope for the best 🤦🏽♀️

Chile.. it takes me days. I take too many breaks. 🤦🏽♀️
“Shoutout to my neck” sent me. 😂😂😂 I just love you girl. Great video as always.
I didn’t think it was THAT heavy til I took it down! 🤣
@@prettywitty77 😂😂I know the struggle sis. Feels like a whole new neck and head when they’re gone. But yours were fire while they lasted!
Yes I laughed to hard on that one. Cause I am experiencing this too. Thought it was just me 🤣
@@samanthajackson4953 you are definitely not alone. 😂😂

That one braid at the back in the end got me 😂😂😂
I get small feed ins. I usually take down the middle all week and pull in a bun until I have 2 rows on the perimeter and handle that on the weekend. I can't be bothered to sit 6 hours to remove my braids.
This is what I think I’ll do.
Yup! That’s me!!!! All week long! Using covid as an excuse just to have time off from the world - just to take out my box braids! My poor man been watching me through this entire crazy picky head process!😩😄😋😘
I do the same thing most of the time!

I think that method might break your natural hair at the ends
I guess this is my sign to take my braids out tonight. I was already thinking about it but now I might do it
Let me know how long it takes! 👀
Girl! When you realized you had one more braid….😂😂😂 oh I felt that!!!!

I have to set aside a whole day for the prcoess. Its take down/detangle/ wash and style day!
This weekend my started off shoulder length now mid back length braids are coming out. Will try this method.
I usually take my back down and twist it and then tuck it under a ponytail. It stops the headaches I get from the dead hair. The weight of 100 strands adds up daily and you don't even know
That's how I have been taking my braids down for years. It is quick but not 20 minutes in my experience
Thanks for sharing your technique! It really helped me!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Taking my braids down tomorrow and i was dreading it, not NOW 🎉❤❤
I'd be very interested to see how it works for you if you used a much wider tooth comb like the original video did. Also some oil and/or water for lubrication. Just some thoughts after spending hundreds of hours trying different things on my daughter's hair.
It takes me like a day or 2 💀
Your hair is gorgeous! 💜
When you found that las’ braid!! I’m bout to start my take down-kinda feelin like I should have started earlier 😬. We’ll see 👍🏽

luckyyyy, usually takes me like 6hrs.

I never thought to use a comb and detangling brush to pick out the ends during the takedown
It took me 6 hours, I also had butt length box braids, I wasn't going to risk cutting my hair LOL . So one by one I unravel them.
crying girl cause the fact it takes 7 hours just to get my braids but it takes me a whole day to take them out is insanity 😱😱😱
Oh I’m loving the new intro
THANK YOU for this real and doable video 🙌🏿
Use a bigger combination with bigger braids. [Wider teeth]. Also use a warm water and cheap conditioner mix to saturate the braids adding more slip.
Took me less than two hours to take down 24in long, medium/small braids. My real hair length is layered but my longest strands at the bottom reach my lower back.
Super fast! Beautiful as usual!
I have had mine for 4 and a half months. It's a record. I just perm the roots. I know it's crazy but I treat by braids like my own hair. About to deep condition!

It takes me 2 days (on and off) to lose my hair, maybe more 😭
I always start next day finish and wash day
Girl it takes me at least a day and a half.
It's been a while, bout 6-8 hrs w/breaks 🤩 but I use an oil spray to lubricate the hair
It works for short hair. Half of my head in 9 minutes.
Here’s to the strong neck 🤣🤣. I would be rockin that after braid look too, I love big hair!
P.s. I have never worn braids🤷🏾♀️. Glad this technique worked somewhat.
I bun’d it for 2 days because I needed a BREAKKK! 😭
@@prettywitty77 i understand!
This was hilarious 🤣 but also super helpful… dunno about 20mins but definitely saved me a couple hour
It takes me 6-7 hours to take em down
Great video boo ❤
There’s a tool called the unbraider made for this works better than a normal comb and would be done quicker
Oh wow I've been doing this for 3 days and only got like maybe 10 total undone haha gosh where were u 3 days ago. I'm gonna try this in the morning
Thank you so much, though. It’s still helpful.

Hey Whit 💙

I just used this video to help me take down my 4 year old daughter’s box braids for the first time. Mad helpful. Thank you sis 🙏🏿
Hey Witty!
Hey boo! 🥰💙

2024 anyone
It takes me 8 hours cause I get the small box braids I looked this video up cause I’m about to take them down today and it’s 4pm I’m timing everything 😂
What color was her braids
3 days
My braids was medium feedin Knotless. Two of my daughters helped me with my braids it took maybe a hour and a half…. Strong neck
This is not new just depends on the size of the braids for it to work out and the shorter you can cut the hair first will determine how long it takes.
All day
It’s takes me 2 days
I’m a kid taking my hair out with my bro and it took us 13 hours
The look of horror at 9:48 😱😮😧
Take it down in sections to me that's the quickest way
2 days because I’m lazy 😞
Ty
I just cut the part that isnt my hair...shampoo and they slide right off
Guys be careful it will probably cause breakage and then u will not see any grow❤
See, I keep my hair shoulder length. So, it takes me a solid 3 hours.
When you noticed ere was one more braid 😂
Longer then 20m
I was supposed to be looking up how to setup a firestick so how did I get here? Lol
