- Although we have a couple of videos of this pagan chant here on YT, I love to post them all, because we perform it in such various places. This is in a beautiful old German catholic church in the village of Stanišić (North of Serbia, almost border with Hungary). It is an active church, not a concert hall. It's spacious and dark, almost mystical.
For all of you who don't know the background about the German people in Serbia: during the reign of the Habsburg queen Maria Theresia, she sent thousands of German families from Bavaria to this area (which at the time was part of the Habsburg monarchy), to spread German influences. They were called the Donauschwaben. They lived here until the WW2. They left beautiful architecture, churches and infrastructure. This church is their heritage.

@@Wisteria_Therian All of us who are connected to nature are a bit pagan. Many Christian rituals are profoundly connected to nature and its cycles and basically inherited from paganism. I don't declare myself as pagan (more like pantheist), although I know many rituals, since I'm a culturologist, so anthropology and ethnology are my fields of interest. I love pagan - Christian celebrations. The Christian church never succeeded in separating from paganism, although they tried so hard to abandon and reject the pagan tradition. But people in all parts of Europe never abandoned their pagan heritage. So, here we decided to bring the elements of nature and paganism back to the church. And this one is an active catholic church, not just a concert hall.
