Doesn't Unity focus on new features as well?

After more than 10 years of experience as a dev with UE, I can unfortunately only confirm all of this.

It's bad to here that you gave up, I know what Unreal Engine be when you have a bug, but I just moved on till I fixed everything by my self, and now every bug I faced is fixed by myself, I hope you be back with Blueprints EOS we really need you!, all greats!

Well…this isn’t something you want to see from your sources. Ooouufff.
However I will say that unreal engine evangelists or whatever they call them do and frequently say that unreal engine is more geared towards large projects.
And that utilizing the engine the way it wants to be handled is better realized by large projects with large teams by large companies.
They openly admit this however they do avoid the language of saying it’s not really best used by indie-developers. Anything is possible and it would be kind of foolish for epic games to say blatantly that it’s not for any development because when Fortnite used to be just a tower defense game and then it literally exploded overnight causing the complete eradication and shelving of paragon… they’ve been through it.
They’ve witnessed what happens when a small project that nobody’s really paying attention to becomes this massive thing overnight.
All that being said you really can’t say that it’s not for any development from epic games perspective because one of their own projects had this unmatched viral success.
So I don’t see it the way you see it but I also realize that unreal engine isn’t just about video games and there production.
When you decide to commit to a unreal project you have to be OK with the fact that this engine is shared across multiple industries and so it’s not always going to be a game first engine.
Epic games has the right and should exercise diversifying. I’m not saying that what you’re saying is valid but I did have this conversation with someone who asked why unreal and not unity.
They argued unreal engine is just kind of massive and on weirdly and difficult to work with. And I explained I don’t think unreal engine is difficult to work with as much is how it has to present itself because it has the cater to so many industries it kind of gives you all the pulleys and knobs and levers upfront and that can be kind of overwhelming.
i’m not asserting you were overwhelmed though.
Overall it does kind of shake ones bones when you see a good source of starter information also produce a video like this that’s almost 180° out of phase with her other continent. Buuut I guess pray for me y’all.👀😭🤣

I wish if they stop here and start working on stability of Unreal. The amount they are spending on marketting on UE5 is hilarous. Literally a person who don't know what is unreal and is talking about it and making dreams to make something on that. And also the presets which they are offerring things in Unreal engine natively makes new developers think that the gamedev is easy. 😔SO FRUSTATING. And Right now the situation of Unreal is that it is switching more side to *Unstable virtual production and a DCC app from a normal game engine. They are slowly moving a step forwards for making monopoly. So Scary.

very valid points. Unreal engine has slowly been moving away from being for indies and more for large companies. hence all the new features, sub editors etc. each of which can be a full time job.

oh man, sad to see this. But i agree on every point of the video, it's extremely frustrating. Thanks to your tutorials i was able to implement multiplayer with EOS, but going on i encountered so many more issues and frustrating things about unreal that I too gave up. It's obvious that it's just not suited to indie games, even though when starting with it it feels incredibly powerful and well-made.
Personally i've switched to Godot engine half a year ago, and honestly i'm loving it so far. Sure it has it's issues and bugs, but it's perfectly suited for indie devs, the workflow is just SO nice, everything is lightweight and fast, runs well on linux, no problems with version control using git... it's really enjoyable. With Godot 4.0 just released, it's also pretty good for 3D stuff so far, although i'm not that far along in my 3D project. Multiplayer works well so far though, as long as you don't want the HTML5 export to also have multiplayer it's not too hard to get working.

I'm very much looking forward to your stock market software development tutorials! I hope you will also focus on the educational part of the trading and investment along this development. Take care!

My god, as an indie developer for a drone game, I couldn't agree more. The lack of documentation and wierd bugs really frustrates me from time to time. The other day a wierd BP bug cost me two frustrating hours to debug and just disappear after I recreate that BP. Hopefully the new Verse will help.
