A Rebbe once asked his chassid who lived in another town, to 'make chassidim'. After a few years, the chassid finally convinced someone to travel with him to his Rebbe. Proudly he introduced the newcomer to the Rebbe. But his Rebbe was not impressed. "This is what I meant?!", he chided the chassid. "What I wanted was that you behave and deal in a manner that will impress people." (This would automatically cause people to follow his way.) We simply need to be good, others will follow.
