Thank you for the kind words and I try to bring my angle to the situation ;) There are so many awesome talented people doing reviews these days, so something for everyone... All the best, Jay
I got it myself for my APS-C camera (A-6400) and even if it might not be targeted for APS-C, i like it very much as my new portrait lens, it gives me a field of view of 112.5 mm and like that very much. The Sigma 56mm F1.4 was my favourite portrait lens until now, but i always felt the 56 mm (equivalent to 84 mm on fullframe) felt always too short for me. The TTartisan suits my needs better, even if it is not as crisp sharp as the Sigma. But honestly, for portraits i prefer a little bit softer look, so thats good for me. Only thing i really dislike about it, is the aperture ring, wich i always move by accident and if i do not recognize it, i shoot my photos with the wrong aperture (i dont use the aperture ring, i adjust aperture by camera settings). I might have to fix the ring with ducktape, wich is not the best solution. I wish the "click" for putting the ring in A-mode would be stronger and thighter.
Sounds like we agree on the negatives for sure ;) And yeah I prefer the longer lens in a lot of situations as well. Thanks for sharing your set-up and explaining! All the best, Jay
are you in orange county NY by any chance? Cuz that "goshen town hall" image @6:41 has a Silver Acura Rdx that looks just like mine and i was in goshen recently parked there lol
Thank you Sam and yeah, this is one of those lenses that is so affordable it is a must try if you don't have a similar optic already in my opinion. All the best, Jay
@@Jason_Hermann as right now I’m rocking primes, 85mm 1.4 Sigma Art. 35mm GM Sony 1.4 I’m saving got the A1 II and 70-200 GM II after that I’ll take a break from shopping for at least a year lol.
Well you already have the awesome 85mm f/1.4, so...... Saving for and A1 II is an under statement, because that camera is crazy expensive! Thanks again for the comments, Jay
Superb price. Awesome lens for sure, the bokeh is superb. The lens is sharp too. Colours are great too. 6:38 I've never experienced whitening this bad. This makes me curious how this happen. But might be fixable in Lightroom using fade mask. 6:42 That's a crazy flare, never seen one this strong. 6:55 One could fix that in Photoshop. 7:08 Maybe a ND filter could help, I know there are ones that are darker at the top. But might not fix it. 7:09 But I think direct sun light like this is going to be problematic with any lens. I've experienced flares even with 24-70 GMII No lens I know of is perfect, not even that one. Still get some glare, and circular glare. Had to Photoshop it out sometimes. but with subjects with lots of detail and horrible glare, that's not really possible.
Hey there, yeah a lot of this stuff can be fixed in post, but when I test lenses I want to show the viewer what the lens itself produces including flaring and all the other flaws it may or may not have. Some lenses have way more unlikable flare than others and this lens is one of them based on my testing. However, if you know that, you can avoid those situations or perhaps this is not the lens for you. Also keep in mind I am trying to find the flaws so I can show the viewer, so in the real world I would obviously make adjustments to get the best shot possible to avoid these situations. Filters I find can help with contrast and shutter speed control, but they do not often help with flaring, but tend to make it worse. In any event, this is a super affordable af lens that can get you awesome results in a lot of situations is the bottom line. All the best, Jay
Wow. Some super shots there, esp. the one looking through the wine glasses and the one of your YouTubing friends against the sunset. The three of you should do a video together, golly that would be fun.
Yeah, that's the beauty of a lens like this; it can make simple shots look incredible with very little effort and in this case very little money spent as well ;)
Have you ever heard of tape ? You know; transparent, red, silver, blue, they even exist in black. Carefull though; you must buy at least 1m. So, perhaps band aid with black marker to tone it down and FIX that faulty aperture ring.
Yeah, I am aware of tape and I think I might use it to fix the aperture ring when I get a chance. I'm currently working with another lens now though ;)
I 100% agree the flaring is not necessarily bad, but worth noting for sure for those that need to know as it does matter depending on what you are shooting in various lighting conditions. An awesome value lens for the money no question!
Please do request l mount if possible to the 7artisans teams as a content creator.. I do wish they would do it as I would probable purchase it asap as there is a lack of some lenses in l mount
Shockingly good for the money!! Nice review, man - I will copy it now. Thanks.
haha, and I agree! 👊
Awesome video man, this lens is great, unbelievable value for the money.
Thanks Arthur and I totally agree the value is crazy good!
It's a good day when your favourite UA-camr upload something your other favorite UA-camr agrees with 😂
I subscribed to you because no one on UA-cam takes so many real photos and talks about them so enthusiastically

Just got my TTartisan 75mm ! Man it's just crazily nice 😍😍😍
I know, it's a real steal for the quality it pumps out for sure! Enjoy...
I hope they make more lens mounts available before the proposed tariffs kick in. This is just so affordable!
thanks, I've been following Arthur and Mark for a long time :)
Yeah, great peoples for sure!

Is this lens good for a 6700, nice video
Yeah, it would work great with the A6700 and yield you an effective 112.5mm view of the world. Great for portraits and so much more in my opinion.
Would it work with a6700?
Yes 👍
With 85mm 7artisan lens which better?
Bother are great, but this lens is way lighter, smaller, and cheaper....

There’s bound to be “creators” that buy this lens for the flares !
I bought it knowing all its pros and cons. No complaints at all

So this would fit on a ZV Mark II
Yes if the ZV-E10 Mark II?
Crazy thing is I have the ZV-1. Looking to sell it so I can upgrade
Wait, are you referring to the ZV-E10 Mark II? The camera you are referencing is a point and shoot?
@@Jason_Hermann I own the ZV-1. Selling that version to get the E10-Mark II. If I can find a buyer.
Just wow... I only have an A6400. But the heck.. I will buy this lens and be a 112mm fixed tele 😅. Here the price is as low as usd130
Did you get it? If yes, how are you liking it?
You just put this video out 8 days ago and this lens is now $199 on Amazon through your affiliate link. :(
Got it off the Triopal link for the $169 though, with free shipping. :)
Yeah sorry the price exchanged on Amazon, which is why I always say at the time of this review…. Glad you found a good deal though anyway 👍👊
