I really hoped the mark vi will have the proximity sensor fixed. unfortunately, it has not, phone s screen still activates itself in the pocket. I own a mark iv and this bug has been a nightmare. the only fix is to switch off the double tap to wake screen, a feature that I have used with all my previous phones. I tested the mark vi in a sony shop and it has the same problem. Sad, other than that the phone is great.
@@SonyEuro it does. but the proximity sensor in combination with the pocket mode is really bad implemented. the screen shouldn't even activate while in the pocket. but it does and on top of that, the buttons from the quick settings are touched, always finding my phone with the torch on, in airplane mode, bluetooth off etc. sometimes it even enters the last used app (have no idea how it is even possible) and keeps the screen on in my pocket, the phone heating itself and draining battery. Just to be clear, I am talking about the mark iv here but I tested the mark vi in a sony shop (by covering the proximity sensor and trying to drag the quick settings down, after double tapping to wake the screen). after the "prevent accidental operations..." message comes on the screen once or twice, the quick settings become accessible (they can be dragged down) or even the keyboard for the PIN, the quick launch buttons on the bottom, etc. after I sent my mark iv in the service multiple times, being still in warranty, I finally got the approval from the seller to send it back and I will be fully reimbursed (phone purchased in nov 2022, kept hoping that a sw update will fix the issue but no). The service statement was every time that the phone works fine. LOL! I am sorry, but a phone that has a screen which activates itself in the pocket, with the "pocket mode" on, is not usable. it is a major flaw.

Far too expensive for not much of an upgrade from the V,telephoto is still soft at the long end .The macro focusing seems all over the place because of the shallow depth of field,no video pro app until android 15 in December all the rest of the upgrades are just catch up to what other manufactures already offer, the biggest disappointment is Sony sticking with this old sensor,it should have been upgraded to the one inch sensor for this price point,im so disappointed in Sony after being an xperia user for over ten years i will probably move on because to me Sony doesn't give a damn about their fanbase which has kept xperia alive.
