This was a real thing. Out of state and even out of country banks bought up a lot of mortgages in the US, would refuse to take mortgage payments and return monies sent, and take the properties.

I can't believe that I wasted my time (about and hour and a half) watching these five videos. Cutting to the chase: They tell the story of a guy that thought he could stop paying his mortgage and bear no consequences.
