“She’s wearing fishnets. You know... and probably doesn’t have any panties on. That kind of evening.” Best quote from a watch unboxing video, possibly ever!
I don’t skip to certain sections. I like taking it all in.
You certainly live life to the fullest. Im not even talking about wealth either. Im more talking about just your general demeanor and the way you go about things. Just not taking things incredibly seriously and just enjoying things for what they are.
Well stated 👍
I think it's called living which reminds me, I better get started with mine..
Apart from getting another SD, must be nice to stroll around in Venice without a million tourists in shorts and flip-flops, waving their selfie-stick and blocking the streets.
Underrated comment. God that was awfully annoying when I was there, and Rome, and Florence, and and and...
Those annoying tourists helped boost the economy that the city and the country needed.
@Nigel Molesworth I admit to being a tourist, though my wife is Italian. I did not however, wear flip flops and carry a selfie stick.
@@smithtotiemsri8250 I live in Italy and it's a double edged sword.
The right Rolex is like having a modern-day Faberge egg. Serves ‘almost’ no purpose but is an incredible store of wealth and status over time.
Meanwhile me very excited with my 100$ Seiko 😂
So true...
@@ryannewby447 me too guys! Heh heh...ahhhhh
It's all you really need. If you love it that is the only thing that matters.
Could this be the 1st TTWC giveaway 😂😂
A guy can never have too many Sea-Dwellers ! 😄👍🏼
Just give the other one to Lenny. Problem solved.
Man that is like dating a hot chick and them a hotter one calls you lol.
Or her twin sister who has a better personality calls you! 🙈
@@EyeInTheSkypaulmcmenamin God, I'm living that in real life. I'm matched with 2 hot sisters on dating apps and will be meeting them after my vaccine...
@@DarthJabba504 you literally can have your cake and eat it! Bravo 😄

@miamijames:
You should always go with the ‘banker’, i.e. the one who is tried and trusted, available now, in the bank. And not worry about anyone else. ‘A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’ as the phrase goes.
Personally I love the theatre 🎭 and drama of how Oisin goes about buying the watch with the gifts 🎁 for the AD’s and the unboxing pairing with the wine 🍷 and cigars. He does it properly. Someone who cares about the romance of these watches and marking it as a special occasion
I love hearing you describe and show us drinks as well as the watches..keep doing what you do!
The most easily watchable and interesting watch channel always.
you use, as an example, frequent air travellers getting priority over others for upgrades. however, they aren't selling those "upgrades" on to make a fast buck unlike many loyal customers who walk out the AD's door and straight to a grey dealer. this is at the expense of those who want a Rolex to treasure and have as a family heirloom.
Please don’t ever stop making these videos! So enjoyable. Side note, I got “the Call” last week for my new Batman on Jubilee. Enjoying it beyond words. Took about 2.5 years of maintaining a very positive and enjoyable friendship with AD. Worth the wait! Cheers and please keep enjoying all of those beautiful watches!
A week ago I was visiting my AD. Just wanted to say hello. One of the sales ladies said oh we just got in a sea dweller, two tone.
I'm waiting for just the all SS. This is amazing, my AD already received a Rolex. A sea dweller showing up at an AD that is a 14 hour hour drive to the ocean. At least Rolex's are starting to trickle into the AD. My AD is family owned. They own over six stores. The AD does not do sale orders over the phone, no credit numbers over the phone, they do not move their watches from store to store. When a GMT comes in, it stays at that store.
If a flipper comes in from the middle east. They say no, the store only sells to locals they know. Now the odds go way way up for getting the sport watch we want.
Congratulations on your new timepiece. Even though I can’t get one of my own, I sure enjoy watching the experience from your vantage point, awesome, thank you. The entire video is terrific. I also appreciate the common courtesy’s and appreciation you show for those that consider you to be a loyal customer. A classy act, most don’t do that, they are too cheap.
A man who enjoys the fine things that life offers.
Life is for Living.....
Well that's the best tasting notes I've ever heard for a whiskey! 😀 brilliant!
Fantastic video. Not just a snapshot of the watch, which is beautiful by the way, but of your life and the way you live it. Refreshing and sound analysis from a man who has a fantastic demeanor and outlook on life. You sir, have gained a new subscriber.
Situation was handled like a true gentleman. Well done. Incredible watch
Congratulations- good on you, these moments in life to sit back and enjoy a drink, cigar and a new purchase are not as important as family and health etc but we can still enjoy a well deserved treat when we’ve worked hard “because we’re worth it” 😄
Following your last video on the SD43 Mark I, I called the AD and asked him if he has one. He said YES. Thank you Oisin for the advice and my AD in Abu Dhabi for the the preferential care. Excellent watch. Very lucky.
All well and good, but most people just want the one Sub or Explorer and don't have the wherewithal to be a loyal customer.
I thought I was the only guy crazy enough to have backups for my backups!
Great vide, thanks....
OMG I love this channel fine wine, whisky, cigars undoubtedly rolled on the thigh of a dusky maiden and a stroll around all my favourite places in Venice which I miss so much ( I know exactly the shop you bought the cookies from and will definitely be there whenever we get back to Venice)... Oh and watches
I absolutely love this channel! I’m living my life in Venice vicariously through you. I live in LA. Life moves at a slower and more enjoyable pace in Italy. Recently bought my first preowned Submariner 11610 and am loving it.
Thanks for sharing your AD experience and the walking around footage of Venice. Very entertaining.
Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Great perspective on the Rolex loyalty/list concept. Made sense.
Happy with my Omega. Walked in and got great service then tried on a few other watches, paid them the money and we shook hands then I walked out. Didn't need to bring them a gift and it would have felt weird if I had, that is how normal watch buying goes on. Rolex watch buying is fucking creepy. I'm not trolling, I love the channel and also love the watch.
I bought an omega from the Sydney, Martin Place boutique. It was a great experience and was treated with the upmost courtesy, and received a gift in the process. Will surely make more purchases there.
I’m collecting dive watches at the moment, would love to have the 43 mm sea dweller in my collection. I’ll try to get one from Rolex in Sydney, wish me luck otherwise is the grey market, although the premium is not as high as the Submariner.
@@robertdalio8787 I wouldn’t get my hopes up mate. A guy recently got himself a Daytona from a Sydney AD but that cost him $300,000.00 over 3 years to build up enough of a “relationship” to be considered worthy. BTW I agree about the Omega AD. Fantastic service.
Yeah I don’t buy the whole “what is poor Rolex to do” argument either
@@Gregsheppo66 @Robert Da Lio - do either of you know much about the Ryde (Sydney NSW) based EBay seller [shop] "GreysWatches"? They seem to have so many good quality luxury watches for sale
@@snsesifushreder1148 noi haven’t heard of them. Ryde is 2 suburbs from where I live. Can you give me a link please? I couldn’t find them.
Still my favorite watch channel. Got a call from my AD a few days ago. They had a 41mm green bezel sub. My dad really wanted it so we meet at the store and he got it. Guy even said they like to take care or their regulars when they get somthing in. I dont even spend much with them. Just nice people that know how to get repeat business.
Congratulations mate, it’s a beautiful watch and having both is double the joy.
Oisin the Rolex Cookie Monster 😎! Congratulations 🎉
Another interesting & superb video shot in lovely Venice ... brings to mind "" Timeo Danaos et Dona Ferentes "" ... although not a Greek but an Irish man in this event. Wear in good health !
My local AD is in Puerto banus marbella. There a people pulling up in there yachts that could buy every piece of jewelry and watches from the AD and wouldn’t notice that the money has left there bank account. Safe to say mere mortals like me don’t have a chance of buying anything for list price so it was off to the grey dealer who has what you want. At a premium. That’s the Rolex way 😕
Mine came in, a surprise! Fits my 8.5 inch wrist fine. Not many reviewers have a big wrist, so I enjoyed previewing this watch in your video. (Great production qualities, by the way). I’d love to bring you a Kathryn Hall wine, a Cab from St. Helena when the wife and I head out to Venice. 😊
Great stuff....thank for the consistently quality videos and commentary!
Don't know if you're aware of this, but your Italian has a noticeable venetian nuance! Cheers from Rome, great content as always
Right?? It sounds so weird hearing him switch from his Irish accent to a Venetian cadence!
Just picked up my new sea dweller from ad yesterday, super happy, really enjoying all of your videos
It’s the same with any business.
Buy 5 Porsches and you’ll be high up the list to get the shot at the limited edition one. My construction firm is the same, our repeat clients jump the queue because they keep me going over the tougher times.
Yeah, I'm a Porsche guy and have shared this analogy before on watch forums. Back in 2016 when the GT3 RS came out there were huge waitlists for that car. The really good stuff you need to be invited to buy based on past purchase history. It's this way with a lot of luxury goods, not just Rolex. The difference with cars though is that the dealers are less constrained on the selling price, so on hot models they will often just add a "market adjustment" of $20K to $50K or more additional cost. I'm glad the Rolex AD doesn't do that, I'd rather wait and get the watch without the markup, but with Rolex you at least have the choice - wait or go grey.
Building up loyalty by flying with an airline to destinations you want to go to is a lot different to them making you fly where you don’t want just to possibly fly to New York with them one day..
That 41mm Rolex date just with silver dials is such a classic watch. Beautiful watch, reminds me of the 60’s. BTW every time I collect a new watch I always take gifts to the AD, very important to look after them.
Another awesome watch. This channel is becoming the channel for conniseurs, since besides fine watches some good stuff is also taught (wine, whiskey and now even fine cuban cigars). Enjoy the watch man and keep posting videos (always a pleasure)
Incredibly beautiful timepieces and very well presented thru your videos. I’m a huge fan.
Cheers 🥂
That Sicilian wine looked VERY inviting! Another really enjoyable video; loved your candour/honesty/take on how it comes to pass who “gets the call” - and who doesn’t.......
"ti sembra de MAGNARE invece di bere" ahahha troppo forte l'accento Veneto che ha preso
Congrats! Glad to see you embracing your wrist size with the larger Rolex.
Yet another great video... Congrats again....don't feel bad there totally 2 different animals..... enjoy in good health! and you know what I find extremely funny is how much you praised your Seiko.... it shows that you just love watches...not just ultra luxury watches. My hat's of to you! I look forward to your videos....keep them coming you are one of the very few watch channels I truly enjoy !
I'm the 4th generation of my family to buy from the same AD. I'm not a "big shot" buying 6 watches at a time. I've still gotten the watch I wanted within a couple of months after saying that I want it. Customer loyalty comes in different forms.
Yeah the Seiko Turtle is an amazing watch for the price. I love mine... bought a Uncle Seiko waffle vintage style strap for it. I also bought a coin edged bezel for it. A little mod to make my Seiko look vintage. I find myself fought between my Speedy and Turtle. You will find yourself wearing this more I’m sure of it. Plus it’s a strap monster Congrats excellent choice
Two Sea Dweller 50th anniversaries? That’s a great problem to have lol! I’m loving mine.
I don't know what your job is but your living life to the full, best cigars best drinks lovely watches and where you live is just total sophistication
Funny listening to you speak and looking at my apartment over your shoulder! Haven’t been for a year due to the bloody pandemic, I miss that city.
Congrats Oisin on the watch and as always your a voice of reason. I have five Rolex all bought at retail or below before the hype started- I haven't flipped and I'm a local customer to my AD. Of course they take care of me. Now that all the Rolex hype exists, people that all of a sudden want in on the action for the first time who are much more likely to be flippers are delusional if they want to get their watches before historically loyal customers. Too bad so sad, buy what you like and maybe your passion will be hyped one day and you'll understand what actual loyal customers feel like. Also, I appreciate that Rolex doesn't just ramp up production to satisfy the urge of the impatient sheepall which would ultimately diminish the Rolex brand exclusivity.
You sir, are a good luck charm (at least for me). Literally within two days of watching this, I got the call from my AD for this piece and picked it up today here in DC area of the U.S. Big ass watch but I’ve been lusting after this piece for a while now and its finally here!! Unboxed with a glass of McCallan 15, neat (and took one to my sales guy - still looking for a sky dweller and a green dial sub 41 but think I’ll be waiting a while for those pieces...). Cheers!!
Congrats. Monster piece! Love the McCallan 15. Notes of pistachio.
I’m pretty sure that I’m near the top of the “list”, as I’ve been allocated a Panda Daytona, Pepsi, etc. And I’m here to tell you, there’s no “list”, the “list” is whoever spends the most money at that particular AD, and they have that documented down to the penny. Regardless, I had a feeling this was going to happen Oisin, as my AD offered me the Red Sea-Dweller just prior to your last video, and these things tend to be shipped in bunches.
Of course you bring a gift, a sign of respect and thankfulness. It’s the reason I sent a Stones lithograph to my industry host for a Rolling Stones concert on the No Filter tour. Suite, food , drink... you say thanks and maybe you will be invited again. Small gestures mean a great deal, especially when others afforded such an opportunity do not. That’s how you get the call for a hard to get watch or anything else. Well done
It’s a sickness. So fun seeing you sink into your watch hoarding addiction. Enjoy!
I have to agree. I love watches myself, but there is an element of mental disorder when you're always chasing after the next one.
Finally got mine after a six month wait. Absolutely love it. On a larger wrist it is incredibly comfortable, despite being a larger and heavier watch. I prefer the feel of it over my GMT. This is my first with a glidelock clasp, which is just fantastic. Mine is a 2022, new from an AD, but it is still the variant that has a flip lock, which I understand is being phased out as so many people take it off. I was personally surprised by how nice the matte dial is in person, more going on than the gloss black of the Sub or GMT.
I absolutely love this video. The Italian conversation with English subtitles... more of that please 🍷🍷
It was interesting to watch both times. Totally jealous. Respect to how you treat people well.
I love your videos. You are right about a.d.'s and loyalty. Two years ago I bought a Daytona from my a.d. Later on, asked about a Pepsi.
Two years later, I got the call to come in that day to buy the Pepsi or, it would be sold. I first had to text a photo of myself with the Daytona and my driver's license to show I had not flipped it. I'm happy.
Absolutely stunning, my SD43 MK2 is one of my favorites, wear it in the very best of health!
Pumped for your Oisin! You articulate things so well. Almost any other channel explains the way Rolex operates and the viewers will moan and grown and hit the dislike. You explain it well and it registers. Enjoy the second SD! Makes me want one haha
Cheers man. Wasn’t planned but sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow.
Once again a wonderful video. Thanks smooch, love the channel.
Amazing video, you wait for one bus and two come along at the same time..
From homeless to “twins” . I’m hoping that there’s a book coming. Enjoy. Because you certainly hove all of us a real treat when these Videos come into our lives !
My favorite part of the video is the wine, whiskey and cigars. You should do a spotify classical music playlist for us to follow while having a drink.
The opening of this video is perfect. My reaction every time I buy a high end watch.lol keep up Great work
Congratulations. That watch really suits you. The size is perfect. Auguri!
What a joy, good luck with it (them), Oisín. Enjoyed it. Thanks. ☘️
I asked about “the list” when I picked up my SD43 and they told me it’s all up to the Rolex buyer at the AD. He saw my recent Yelp review online where I praised the service at that AD and I got the call like a week later.
Simp
Daniel, Was it a chain AD or small private. How and why did they respond to a Yelp review?
@@paulhickmott6129 they have three locations in Jacksonville. I don’t know why they look at Yelp, but I would guess it’s because of the competition they have and it’s a way for them to see customer loyalty. I was told by my salesperson there that they look at their yelp reviews, so I hopped on it. Granted, I think I’d still be waiting if I’d been trying to get a Batgirl or a stainless Daytona lol
Aahh we are Irish , and Loved .. great feeling on holidays , Love your Uploads👍🇮🇪👍
I do the same thing when the AD calls I bring them a nice gift, I appreciate how they treat me!! I like getting the men's perfume.
Love Venice and the video, decided to also go on the waiting list for a 43 SeaDweller and a 44 DeepSea as the SubMariner may take years. Wore my AirKing to show I was already a customer and had a long enough visit to learn first hand all the little features on the Dive watches but not so long as to become a pain, say 30-40 mins, the next time I go in, in a few months they will remember me, maybe I will go get a piece of jewellery polished there in the mean time - Im going to play the game, I want my Rolex'
Love the green waffle Seiko King Turtle!
That was a great video. I had to smile because wow can I relate. Thanks
I love the 43 bro. I was lucky enough to have the stickers left on mine two years ago, before this Rolex madness started. Enjoys yours. Cheers mate.
I got mine from my AD after a bit of a wait and paid MSRP list. I don’t care that I can sell it for a 30% premium... it’s a lifetime keeper.
PS: I have a 7.2 inch wrist and sold my Sub to get this.
I have a 7.3-7.5” wrist (weather depending). How does the SD wear compared to your Sub? I am on the fence about the SD...... Congrats and wear the SD in great health!

@@robertschmidt9584 Thanks. It wears extremely well but my other watches are 39 and 42mm; so on any given day I can wear whatever my mood dictates. But look: at 7.3-7.5”, this is an absolute no-brainer for you! Get the SD43.
I sold my 116610LN to get this model too 👍
4 minutes in and I love this video. At last someone talking sense about AD's and loyalty. So much drivel being spouted by others on this subject.
Ha ha ha, I do exactly the same, I say thank you, and here’s a very nice bottle of Champagne, enjoy it, as I will the watch. I’d deffo buy the AD one, keep the stickered one, wear this one, perfect. Keep well.
So true about the bezel feeling crisp on SD43 , not cutting but beautifully engineered for purpose! Congrats on a second one ;)
Super video! I applauded for $10.00 👏👏👏
Another fantastic video, looking forward to seeing what you get next 🙂
Great video. In the UK we don't really wear masks outside but all our Rolex ADs are firmly shut.
Christmas Eve I walked into a brand new Rolex boutique in Vegas. I was at the mall ONLY to pick up an online order at the Apple store. I was the only customer in the store. I had NEVER been there before. The young guy working there didn't know me from Adam. They had their regular watches in the window and the cases inside the store. I asked if he had anything else available. And he asked which model. I replied 40mm YachtMaster in Navy dial. He responded, "let me check". He went in the back came back and said, "Here you go". I was shocked. Hehehe I held it, looked at it and admired it's beauty but felt it looked much smaller than the photos I've seen before. (I'm a Batman wearer). I said anything else you're hiding back there and he responded which model? I said the new 41mm Blusey. He said, "let me check". Sure enough he returns with one and says, "Merry Christmas". I was taken aback! Now, here I am with the Holy Grail Submariner Blusey at the very beginning of an upgrade to the model and basically he was calling my bluff. I had no choice. I plopped down my credit card and bought the damn thing!!! HAHAHAHAAA I went to the mall to spend $1200 on an IPhone and ended up spending ANOTHER $15,400 with tax on a watch I was not really looking to spend. I felt compelled because of this AD wait list exclusivity BS. So I feel your pain. You can't deny an AD offering you a piece that they would normally hold for a "long term customer".
Some people make their own luck- others whine about it. Congrats!
Enjoy your purchase.
Good story 😂 Grats!

Same here... got a call from my AD after Christmas to pick up my SD43. Wasn’t super excited about it but picked it up nonetheless. Awesome piece though! It will become an instant collectible if discontinued or if the red line is gone!
I'm still waiting for the call 😬
Same thing happened to me in 2018 with my BLNR. The grey market one was in transit when I got the call. I had given up on the AD route after being on the list with my local AD, then owner decided to retire and close the store.
Love the videos you put out. Just awesome content. 👏
I put my name on “the list” for a standard ceramic sub two years ago. I got a call the two days later. Why? Because I’ve spent 6 figures at that particular AD; not because I got “lucky.” It’s the same reason, despite their awful customer service recently, I fly United; because I get business class more often than not due to my loyalty. Your explanation is SPOT ON.
If you are loyal customer to a boutique, they will be loyal back. If they are not, change who you are loyal to. It will pay off one day.
I experienced this in everything you can buy. Wine, jewels, car, motorbike, watches,etc...
Congrats Oisín, happy for you!
Oisin. Well deserved 👏 felt like I was in there with you buying a watch. Although it would be a fat chance I get a call from a UK AD within 5 years🤣. My Rolex was pre owned I've only had Tudor and Omega new. P.S I didn't tell you take the stickers off LOL!!!! I'd keep them both MK1 & MK2 are different after all.

Couldn’t walk around London with a Rolex bag ! Lovely watch
Fantastic, I'll get one someday, still working my way there.
Your comments on customer loyalty and availability are spot on. I wish you could get that through to Paul T.

Ouch. Kind of like going to your surprise birthday party when you know about it and have to act surprised. Your a straight up guy and handled it well. Cheers, John
No problem, just sell the one you bought in the gray market back to the gray market. Definitely get the one from your AD. I have two...the Mk1 dial, the real 50th anniversary...actual 50th production year, with no crown between "Swiss Made" (but still has the 3235 movement) and just got another one from my AD last week.
