hell yeah, that's how all youtubes should be, no intro !! what is it with people that they must put intro's in front their content.. perhaps do they get monetization per video length, so they try to stretch them ?! goddam.
Just opened an entire pack of pens and not one will work, tried this method and nothing changed at all. Snapped all of the pens, threw my desk over and kicked my TV off the stand.
yeah, totally worked. I used to do this but it wasn't working, but I wasn't taking it apart. Did it your way now my expensive gel pens writes like a dream. Cheers mate
Didn’t work. So I slammed it on the table a few times and now it does. Edit: Nevermind the ball came out when I slammed it and now it just leaks out massive amounts of ink lol.
So simple - I just put the tip of the pen in a match flame for a few seconds, and it decided to cooperate! Thanks - I wish I could retrieve all those pens I threw away before I saw your video !
Guys, I read some of these comments about people ruining their pens... It really takes only 3 seconds to do this. Get rid of the plastic of the pen and only burn the very tip of the pen (the ball part) DON'T burn the plastic. That will obviously ruin your pen. Be careful and do it for a second at a time, then repeat until you see or feel the INK MOVING! Once that happens your pen is working again, and you should stop before the ink shoots out or something lol
I tried this myself once but got scared of melting the pen, then noticed you held it there for a decent while and it didn't melt. So I tried it again and I have my pen back! Thank you for a simple but effective handy video! :)
An even simpler and safer method: Use boiling water in a coffee cup instead of the lighter or any other open flame. Will work just as well if there's any ink left in the cartridge.
Guys there is one more way which can be better for you, this is mainly for people whose pens melted. Use a hair dryer instead, it won't cause the pen to melt ( it can if u do for long time which u won't lol) but yeah use a hair dryer it works too! 😁😂
This is only a temporary solution in most cases, as the ink won't keep flowing. What generally happens to ballpoint pen ink over many years is that it breaks down and thickens. Thus, it won't flow down to the tip. Heating it up will encourage flow for a bit, but once it cools you're back to the same problem again.
@@philomenanonis8634 Thanks for the compliment but no, just very experienced with ink refills and I did have the luck of talking once to a chemist who was involved at one point in the formulation of ballpoint ink. It's a very tricky balance of compounds that need to endure all sorts of temperature stresses while still being able to flow. And it's an imperfect dynamic, that little tube where any backward flow leaving gaps is a death sentence for the refill.
If you have more than one of these pens, the best way to save a defective one is this.: use pliers to take out a working tip and "transplant " it in the tube which contains the defective tip. So, once you find a pen which works very well, use it all the way . The tip can then be used again in a similar pen. Forget about lighters, hot water etc. These are only short term measures which get you practically nowhere.
Depends on the pen, but it's normally air stuck in between the ink and the ball pin. Also viscosity has a factor in it, and also when using gel can interrupt it's own flow. Many factors, but the solutions are basicly the same

FOR STUDENTS WHO CAN'T PULL OUT A LIGHTER DURING A TEST there is another method that I've developed after having my pen dry out so many time especially during long essay.....If the metal part/tip of the pen can be detached from the cylinder that contains the ink you can pump ink back to the tip.....take the metal part and the ink tube and repeatedly connect them and pull them apart you'll notice that some ink will come out of the opposite side of the tube that is not being repeatedly connected and pulled apart from the metal part/tip of the pen...take that opposite side that had ink coming out and now plug it into the metal part/tip and volia! ink! Word of caution....dnt pump too many times or the ink on the opposite side will overflow and make a huge mess...trust me I had experience with this....

Thank you. Just re-started college, after an almost 20yr break. Bought my favorite r.s.v.p pens. Pen died after a few hours. Couldn't believe it. Heated just the metal tip and now it's working again.
When you're finished using the pen after you've heated and used it, be sure to store it where the tip is pointed downward, that way the ink will drip to the front of the pen. Maybe a good shake or a vigorous scratch on a pad will get the pen writing again. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Hello to those commenting it only worked once and dried again, i found a way that worked to my 3 dried pens. After "heating it" like in the video, I use it until it wont work again then blow the ink from the open end of the pen. Must work continuously after that. As I said, it worked for my 3 pens.
I used this technique and it works! I didn't burnt it for too long, i just did it for 10,seconds while turning the tube. Do it not steadily. After I burnt it for 10 seconds, I blow the end of the tube hehehe. Now, my gtech works so fine.
Steeping the refill (or the whole pen if it's a throw away) vertically in water that I heated to boiling before worked a lot better for me. I didn't fully immerse them, that would get water in them, which is not good.
Had to do this several times before itd finally write. Thank you for the vid. I literally spent all day trying to get it to write and then I watched your vid and it worked
THANK YOU! I haven't been able to use it since I purchased it, now I will do this to my other 2 pens which I have the same issue with. :) Good bless you!
another method: boil water and place in a container, preferably a cup, place the ballpen tip pointing towards the bottom and wait for a few minutes, it worked for my glitter pens 😊, make sure the cover is still there though
So it's a question of relative pressure between inside the inkwell and ambient pressure. Knew it, thank you for confirming. This is happening with my two expensive pens and it's very frustratinh
I tried this and my pen would work for three seconds so I kept doing to try to make it continuously but I ended up melting the tip off and all the ink poured out onto my journal. It's a red pen so it's looks exactly like blood and my fingertips are dyed red.

Try putting your pen in HOT water for about a minute or so. I see you melted your pens with the lighter, so don't scald your hands off doing this, just put the pen about 1/2 way down. It will soften up the dried up ink in the pen. The ink has probably gotten thick and won't run. Maybe just put it under the tap, running HOT water only. P.S. no good for the classroom, LOL!

It's a ten cent pen, so the quality control isn't all that rigorous. Even with a $2 pen, you can't explain perfection.
