That was so easy to see the difference but also you could hear it. The first hit was solid …definitely in the fat of the bat whereas the second one creeped closer to handle by a lot. There is no way to know where those balls went but the second one left like it was going high but definitely not anything that would go too far.
Uh... Right in your first sentence and in the video title, you used an undefined word "casting". You don't really describe casting in any detail, or why it's bad til at least 1 & 2.5 minute in. I've never played competitive baseball... If you don't define it, how are folks like me going to understand what problem you are trying to solve?? 😢 I shouldn't have to work so hard just to figure out WHAT you are talking about, let alone WHY it's a problem to solve... then have to connect up your idea to train people out of this casting thing. Sorry, I usually like your videos because your analysis is so good, and you get right to the point. Then again, maybe I'm just getting cranky in my old age. LOL!!
He's a pro baseball player/instructor, not a professional educational speaker. If you don't want to wait and find out what he's talking about and why it's good to correct it, move on to another video. Touch some grass and play ball with some kids, it will help you to be less cranky 😉
@@HereThereBackAgainI agree. This guy is a former first round draft pick and has been coaching hitting for years. Be patient, all the information you need is there, maybe it’s just not communicated in the exact order that you would have preferred.
"I've never played competitive baseball" Then why are you typing at this video? Do you go onto math videos and write "I'm not a mathematician, but you should have explained what a cosine is"
Great drill for driving the knob to the ball as well.
brachistochrone curve, I've always enjoyed how your swing always goes rearward before launch, just learned this terminology from physics
Great drill!! Thanks!! I thought I had a pretty tight swing for the sweet bat spot. Nope. I hit my computer monitor!! Thanks again!!
Judging ‘early or late’ on the ball release allows subjectivity. Just look if the ball goes to the back stop or to the plate. Great drill.

Have you seen the rope bat? Seems like a tool for similar results
funny thing the second one looked better
Recreational softball might be a better sport for you.
Who knew
Ps knob to ball is totally incorrect, why because of physics, brachistochrone curve

Nah man you gotta be patient here
Just maintain your angle in your forearm while starting your bat backwards
