What a phenomenal woman to not only lead her country but as an Admiral in the military, as well. I hadn't heard of her before your show, I was glad to know about this part of history but especially about this woman. Great investigation of the story, as well.
Indonesia has an incredible history in its own right, but the woman are fantastic today also, they are warriors in a different way now, I’ve been to Indonesia, truly the Indonesians are loving kind friendly people, they are naturally generous, they don’t generally see problems but look for solutions, I leant very much from. Indonesia, thank you 🙏 👍 ❤️ 🙌🙌🙌🙌 From France 🇫🇷.
Thank you for making this video. I'm Indonesian and very glad one strong woman from my country got recognition she deserved for her bravery and service
That's why when western country especially united states promoting and preaching about woman right and feminism to the world we Indonesian are laughing at them. It's part of our culture since the inception of time. and not toxic feminism like theirs, ours creates strong and heroic woman like admiral Keumala Hayati and many other woman national heroes.

Totally Ignorant about Keumalahayatti! Thank you for this lovely retrospective portrait. It was most informative, regarding established cultural practices of the time & this lady’s singular impact in protecting her people’s territories & helping to keep their customs & entire kingdom (sultanate) intact for its progeny for so long a period. The 1550s - 1630s. Very important time in establishing borders throughout the East. A naval survival story. Thank you, Lord Forgotten-a good game name, too.
Lord Forgotten... how appropriate! Great job, as usual! The background music was beautiful and really added to the overall experience! Keep up the good work👍🏻
I'm learning so much about historic women from your channel, thank you so much! I had no idea historical women were so interesting, popular media always makes their lives seem rather simple and boring (I know for the vast majority it definitely was, but you never hear about the few who led different lives!), it is so wonderful to hear the real and far more interesting stories!
Wow what a strong, brave, great as well as heroic woman. She is phenomenal. I'm Indonesian, BTW, but have never heard a comprehensive and rather complete story about Admiral Keumala Hayati before watching this video. BTW, the narrator is kinda look like of mixed ancestry. His lips is really something he he he
Thanks so much for your wonderful videos it has renewed my memory of the history of the world. You voice is also very nice to listen to. God bless you and yours.

Nice history...! U pronounce the name quite right, but Nusantara ruler's name are always long back then and now so quite confusing for long one mentioned. So you can shorten it up. For example Sultan Alauddin, S. Hanasah, Sultanah Aminah.
Ooh! Forgotten Lives I have a few of your wonderful videos to watch. I can't wait to be dazzled by all the information you present in each one. Thank you. 😁❤
Who is this handsome narrator? He has a wonderful voice, and does a terrific job narrating these stories, and skillfully pronounces all sorts of foreign names. Very impressive!
The dutch War vs Aceh sultanate is the most bloodiest and expensive war. They hold Aceh only 30 year unlike Java for 300 year. That is why in first and second dutch aggresion in indonesia they never attack aceh again.
Fascinating history and even if your pronunciation was not correct it sounded great to me. I also just saw the video and a commercial for a Pillow Cube before the video, it sounds great I just purchased.
Please do one on Padmavati. This one is legendary in certain parts of India even a movie was made after her. Please look into this one. Thank. I enjoyed your mini history series keep it up.
The most badass factor about her is that her ranks was mainly filled by war widows. They're angry hardcore badass women sailors who doesn't afraid to take their enemies life . Just like her.
Do y'all really not realize a native Spanish speaker can have an English dialect? It's fun being told the world is multicultural and then having to explain that you're mixed, multilingual, and or multiracial. Lots of people speak several languages well. I just find it interesting that so many comments infer NW is an English speaker and thus could never roll an 'r'. Signed Southern USer native French speaker with a English dialect. Defaulting to English as normal is kinda um -ist.
Would you mind telling the life of Jendral Soedirman (General Sudirman), an Indonesian army general who led active guerrilla troops from a stretcher for 7 months?
Fascinating stuff given the time. Makes you wonder if this one woman could do this. How it is that there went such a long period of time before another woman was allowed to do it.
