      Most Japanese cars are shit though. They go good for a few years then they break down and don't work again. How do I know? Been around them my whole life. They aren't that fast or anything. However they are amazing drifters. They aren't great. Horrible stereotype and I'm not sure where it came from. They go fast sure. But they break down and aren't unusable after like 50,000 miles. However they're cheap so.... if you want speed for a cool $7,000 every 2 or 3 years and you got it.

The Kawi ran a 10 second quarter back then bone stock and would make that Honda seem like it was going in reverse!!! You could have also included the 2000 GSX-R750 here which beat out all other large bore and literbikes at the time in every tests and didn't really get any competition until a year later when it's bigger brother the GSX-R1000 was introduced in 2001. I recently bought another ZZR1100 D1 1993 UK (ZX11 USA) which was the fastest bike when it was released in 1990. It cost me £750 so under $1000. The specs vary but the European specs are 147bhp The 1997 ZX-11's quarter mile time was 10.43 seconds at 131.39 mph and I could only find 0-100 kph which is 0-62 mph in 2,75 secs. De-restricting them is by replacing the carburettor tops which cost me about $50 so it will be even faster. What else can you find that fast for under $1000?

    You need a large amount of skill to achieve high cornering speeds, so when you upgrade to a faster motorcycle without also upgrading skill then you taking on much more personal risk !.

    Ok yam our one and only saviour I’m currently sitting in a police station after taking your advice on the speed triple. I roundhouse kicked a 56 year old off of it at a red light. He’s suing me. Help. Please yam it’s serious. The speed triple. It’s a drug. It’s a a gateway drug. A gateway drug to the unspeakable. A DAYTONA

    Budget Biker here. Maybe if you get low on content you can do a Motorcycle Mysyery video with quick sort of weird stuff or myths about bikes. Like why in the hell are there pennies inside the gas tank of the 1975 CB550 i restored? Kids use it as a piggy bank or was there an actual purpose? They fused to the tank so i can't get them out. Also, why would some people do certain crazy stuff to a bike or ride with nothing but shades on? How dont they get bugs in their teeth? Especially in San Antonio when we get the butterfly plagues. Lol 😆

    My 2007 Bandit 1250 cost me 4800 about 6 years ago. I think that qualifies. Miss it, sometimes, but the FJR is a more than worthy replacement.

  • @mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454

    Good estimate on the Speed Triple. I bought an 02 Daytona with a build and a dyno tune. Landed right on your cutoff price.
    But what most people even bikers think that the 02-04 Daytona & Speed Triple both have 128 ponies. Actually the Daytona has 19 more stock.
    I’m thinking that possibly with a few tweaks the Daytona could push into the low tens.
    Thinking about doing the Moore Mafia drag school & finding out for myself.
    I need a little more speed than a golf cart lol.

    Got another one for you. My 2012 Yamah FJR1300A. I found a couple for sale online (including one at a N Dallas dealership) for just under $5K. At 145 bhp with 99ft lbs of torque, this 1298cc machine is a beast. I can't find track numbers for it, but once while pulling onto a hwy on ramp I decided to hammer it and shift as fast as I could. The g force was enough to give me real tunnel vision and when I shifted into 3rd (in about 3 seconds) I saw my speedometer read 110. Scared the crop out of me.

    Well theres tons of comments. Dont know if this will be read by you Yam Man but I just hit a deer for the 1st time on my 2015 FZ09 two weeks ago. Ouch. Broken collarbone. Dead deer. 50 mph road. Slowed down but the deer spread out and covered both lanes. Not fair. Wondered how well you've healed from killing 2 Daytona's.
    You look good . Had all my gear on so I live to ride another day. Helmet scraped and shield ripped off. God bless the bikers - careful on early season night rides my brothers. They come out of nowhere fast.

      Fast = high top speed
      Quick = high acceleration
