The Dacia Spring (Renault City-KZ) EV is trying to bring that slow-golf-cart aura back though, 33kW, a top-speed of 78 mph & 0-62mph in 19.1 seconds, all yours for 8,000 EUR ($9,000USD) in China or 12,500 EUR ($15,000USD) in France. Thanks for all this highly entertaining tinkering... your videos are a great combination of plunders and genuine gems of problem solving. I save your new videos to watch while I am having my Sunday morning two hour breakfasts. And by the way, I am an owner of Citroën version of Mitsubishi Miev... bought it cheap, and now the battery needs serious amateur mechanics dedication..
I love your videos, and I like this one (and having just watched the recent battery videos of you combining the battery packs) so much I'm watching it again. 13:06: One thing I absolutely appreciate, expect, and encourage in any car is to absolutely be as obnoxious as physically possible if I leave the lights on. I love that feature.
If you wanted to, you could probably get an app on your phone to log acceleration figures while doing your 0-60 or 0-80. The velocity figure as logged by the phone will accumulate error, but acceleration reading should be pretty good.
I just discovered your channel this last week and been really enjoying your videos. You have a great sense of humor and I can tell you put a lot of work into your content. Looking forward to more!
The 30kwh battery pack is pretty decent, LiFe cells are great, when the body falls apart it will make a great power wall, worth the purchase price alone!
That's by far the best Wheego LiFe review we've ever seen on UA-cam! Makes us want to go out and buy one, just for the laughs! It entertains all of your supporters and audience. So that _has_ to be worth every cent you've spent on it. The 'pile of old junk' gag had us spraying English Breakfast tea across the room. The fact that it would fail the U.K. MOT Test on lights, brakes and steering; basically everything except for emissions - which we're not so sure about, if it 'smells cancery' - is irrelevant. It's been a 'fun' car, in the most sarcastic and ironic senses of the word. Thanks for another great video, Rob.
Man I remember when I used to watch your 944 videos when I first got one myself. Haven't seen anything from you in ages (heh) but all the sudden you're blowing up! Kind of like a backwoods Dug Demuro, I love it. See you at 500k.
I just realized that a car that I always see parked in front of somebodies house in my City is a Wheego. I have never seen it move, and it has always been in the same spot.
Anyone else notice that smashed pump at 23:16 when he drove past the gas station? Love the video btw. I came to your channel from Tavarish’s Yugo vid (which started with Doug DeMuro’s Yugo vid that I showed my son this weekend and we had a good laugh at) and have been binging ever since. Keep up the good work.
I have a 1978 Chrysler Cordoba that had a worn-down cam lobe when I bought it. In the era of some of the worst manufacturing ever that Cordoba is still light-years ahead of the Wheego.
Many '70s US cars are still on the road in some way, half a century later. Let's see how long Wheegos will go... he said one has died with just around 18000 miles because of a construction fault. Laughable...
yeah but as texan's you would kill a wheego in no time cause if the transmission of a wheego gets stripped out in 17 thousand miles of driving how long would that take a texan to put on the car to do it probably 6 months if that you may get lucky and it may take a little longer to do it but still you would kill it cause the wheegos trash on wheels they are breaking right off the dealership floor
High quality video. I had no idea what Wheego was, and I almost didn't click because this video was a half hour, but boy, I'm glad I did! If Wheego had been half as focused on attention to detail as you, they'd have made a vastly superior car.
Funny as always, great content! But 5000 bucks for this?! It doesn't even worth 500 in my book... the ones who have payed over 35000 for it new must have been truly insane. Would be cool to see a Trabant ownership review as well in this length ;-) Also it'd be awesome if you could review a Velorex, if there's one in the USA near you (probably there isn't I guess...)
You can buy adhesive weather strip to stick on top of the door seal so it seals the gap. You could also move the door striker/latch in, so it closes the gap.
Truckers in the 1970s referred to the VW Westfalia camper vans as 'moving guardrails' because they had zero ability to pass even loaded semi-trucks on the highway in less than a fortnite UNLESS they were going downhill. On a hill, or even level roads... if a trucker didn't want to allow one to pass, it wasn't going to happen.

My husband and I are so glad we found your channel! (We are interested in EVs.) I've been sharing them with everyone. Thank you for so much entertainment!
when i saw the sticker price my jaw dropped so much it fell off my face and now i cant find it
Thanks for all this highly entertaining tinkering... your videos are a great combination of plunders and genuine gems of problem solving.
Lord! thanks for covering this, the vid I didn't know I wanted. Well done!
Longest video to date... worth every minute!
If you wanted to, you could probably get an app on your phone to log acceleration figures while doing your 0-60 or 0-80. The velocity figure as logged by the phone will accumulate error, but acceleration reading should be pretty good.
2:06 on the up side if positioned correctly the whip did provide very respectable radiation shielding for a car in its class
As a former car salesman I can only imagine the hell of trying to get someone to buy this pile.
the electric cheese wedge sold better than the wheego. this is the car you will carry to your grave whether you like it or not
Man I remember when I used to watch your 944 videos when I first got one myself. Haven't seen anything from you in ages (heh) but all the sudden you're blowing up! Kind of like a backwoods Dug Demuro, I love it. See you at 500k.
i wanted to say this in a the last wideo that you remind me of Mr. Bean if He did Car Reviews but your as much entertaning as he is.
This video is so entertaining! Robert has more charm than most UA-camrs because of his humor and editing chops.
I just realized that a car that I always see parked in front of somebodies house in my City is a Wheego.
I have never seen it move, and it has always been in the same spot.
Buy it.
Maybe they are waiting for it's value to go up...or the Dumpster is not big enough?
Anyone else notice that smashed pump at 23:16 when he drove past the gas station?
Love the video btw. I came to your channel from Tavarish’s Yugo vid (which started with Doug DeMuro’s Yugo vid that I showed my son this weekend and we had a good laugh at) and have been binging ever since. Keep up the good work.
Yes, I did.
"I'm not normal"
Truer words have never been spoken
@Krister Lagerström I did
24:52 the accent got me 😂 I love it
Great review, terrible car. Keep it up Robert.
That snap transition at the beginning was completely flawless!
Wheego: A modern American car built to 70s American standards.
Lord that says soo soo much...
@@saturn0660 unholy is he who views the welds on a mid-70s GM subframe and proclaims, "eh, good enough."
Even 1970s GM cars were better built than then the Wheego heck I'd even say there was less shenanigans going on than you see on Teslas today.
Slowly stands and Applauds... Well Done... I enjoyed your digital display saying your heat setting waa at 1000 Celsius
"All the comfort of an upturned bucket wrapped in a blanket" 😂
This might be the best review of any car I've ever seen. 10/10
made an "ohh"-noise out loud when I saw this was up, what have you done to me?
Excelente production. I love the attention to details that you put in each part of the review.
"the car is electronically limited to a maximum speed of 65 miles per hour"
*speedometer goes all the way up to 80 for some reason*
It's regulatory.
You're good. Really good. I love your style - articulate, informative and playful. You have a rare talent. Run with it.
"So you can keep your feet welded to the floor. Unless the speed limit is 55 of course"
*IN TEXAS, WE WELD OUR FEET TO THE FLOOR NO MATTER WHAT*
yeah but as texan's you would kill a wheego in no time cause if the transmission of a wheego gets stripped out in 17 thousand miles of driving how long would that take a texan to put on the car to do it probably 6 months if that you may get lucky and it may take a little longer to do it but still you would kill it cause the wheegos trash on wheels they are breaking right off the dealership floor
High quality video. I had no idea what Wheego was, and I almost didn't click because this video was a half hour, but boy, I'm glad I did! If Wheego had been half as focused on attention to detail as you, they'd have made a vastly superior car.
4:02 - Very Jeremy Clarkson cadence here. xD
I just loved how real you was in this video… I had to hit the like and subscribe button.
What is a Velorex?
1200kgs is very heavy for a car that size... also this channel is so super underrated
I just watched a whole video on a crappy car because this guy is so entertaining. :).
Heh, that lights on warning sound is nothing. Have you *heard* the sound of Peugeot 306?
18:50 I can't tell you how badly I wanted you to turn the graph into a Wheego...
Just noticed, the steering wheel is a copy of an e46 one (and some other models of that era).
Wait! My moms polo 1.2 with 60hp and 108nm is 16sec from 0-60mph. Ohh wow that thing is really slow...
I suspect... It doesn't have 60hp. Because than it could most likely go faster than 105kph. (he said without a limiter it wouldn't be faster....)
@@Emptiness_Machine_2001 Thats what i thought
What would have been way funnier, is if they had flipped the "2" on The gear select upside down to make an "S"
Lol
"electric cars can be quite fun because the electric motors have good torque"
Wheego: "lol hold my electrons"
You can buy adhesive weather strip to stick on top of the door seal so it seals the gap. You could also move the door striker/latch in, so it closes the gap.
Two videos at once? We're not worthy!
I have to confess I love everything about it.
On the up side that battery pack should give you substantial protection from land mines should you go for a drive in a war zone.
Why are you doing this to yourself? You need an intervention. I'm going to start looking into this. We'll find you a nice Toyota Corolla. Hang in there. You have people that care about you.
This video is great, Robert! The first scene had me cracking up!
