I swear, I can’t stop using and loving them since the launch back in 2008. The smell is so addictive, the shape of that beautuful bullet, the weight, the weightless shiny formula. I never bought Chanel after I tried these.

I love the YSL lip balm formula, and I don't mind the peachy scent. But I understand that it can get tiring. I find the Coco Flash last a little longer but not as hydrating as the YSL.

Showstopping Rose will be perfect for the Spring/Summer. I personally love the lighter shades in the YSL and use them as toppers to my more matte formulas instead of a traditional gloss.

Thank you! We have had a fairly warm winter so far - no snow yet. I can't say I wish we had as much snow as you but I hope we get some this winter. So far we have only had flurries.
Love the YSL lipsticks. Rose Afrique is my favorite. It these shades are nice too. I wish they had refills for these though.

I have always loved the feel of this formula since it came out and the YSL fruity floral fragrance has always been a favorite to me. Yes you have to reapply them. They are beautiful colors. I like 162 & 163. You look so ready for Spring!. I despise minty lip products. I think all lip products should clearly disclose their fragrance!
I wish they would disclose the fragrance too! I'm not a fan of the vanilla scented lip products that are so common. I can deal with it at times but it is not a selling point for me at all!

Yes Lexi when I started to use luxury makeup brands for lipsticks I only use YSL Rouge Volupte , Rouge Volupte Shine and Pur Couture and slowly buying other brands like Tom Ford, Chanel, Dior. Now I'm eyeing on Jimmy Choo, Bond no.9 and Dries Van Noten!🤩🤩🤩

I'm interested in the new YSL Candy Glaze...picked a sample care with my last Sephora order but the must have ran out because they sent me a sample of the Benefit Pore Professional primer...which I did not need or want!! 😆

I have the same experience with Chanel Rouge CoCo Flashes, they dry my lips out. I don't have the same feeling with Dior or YSL.
It's so interesting because they just don't feel like they would dry my lips out when I first apply them. Oh well! At least these work better for me.

Can you compare them to Sisley shiny/ sheer lipstick? (Phyto Rouge Shine)
Sure! The Sisley are very much like the Chantecaille Lip Chics. Both of those formulas have a thicker consistency than these (these are more of a lip oil/lipstick hybrid instead of a lip gloss/lipstick hybrid. The Sisley and Chantecaille lip chics have a bit more of a clear gloss built into the formula which makes it a bit thicker on the lips and they last probably about an hour or so longer than the YSL.

I love this lipstick but they appear to be discontinued. Do you know if they are simply rebranding it with another name or is it gone forever?
They are renaming it Loveshine and they just launched in the US. I ordered a few to try. Several of the permanent shades are the same names.

What about YSL vs Hermès lipstick?
These YSL are texturally very different than Hermes. The Hermes satins are a drier formula / less oil so they perform more like a traditional lipstick and the shiny/brillant formula have a glossy finish but not as glossy as the ysl and the texture is more balmy than that of a lip oil so when you put on a few layers, the hermes is thicker. The hermes are also less pigmented with one swipe than the ysl. These ysl really feel more like a lip oil mixed with a lipstick.

The one I ordered online from Sephora has a very strong unpleasant smell. I wouldn't call it sweet like the Fenty lip gloss scents. Is that normal or did Sephora send me an expired Volupte Shine lipstick? It's my first YSL purchase. The smell is so disturbing I only wore it for an hour. I can't imagine wearing it outside. Other people would be able to smell it too.
Hmm, I'm not sure if that's accurate. Can you smell them in person to see? They definitely have a strong scent but it smells more fruity to me and definitely sweet but we all can smell things differently so it's hard to say.
