The Poirier vs Gaethje vs chandler triangle is always guaranteed fireworks.
I think another factor is that Dustin tends to do well in rematches. He has his confidence especially since he won the first time and he’s been through so many meat grinder matches. He has his bjj as well that’s he’s been incorporating a little more into his normal game with some wrestling. I like both guys and won’t be too bummed either way but I gotta pull for Dustin.
Only problem for dustin is he always chokes when it comes to belts

What we have seen with Justin is an improvement in defense. Whether it’s a conscious decision or just natural evolution as a fighter idk. But if he focuses on defense he is on a different level than before

Dustins strength of schedule seems far more impressive
Dustin is hard to pick against because of his reliability but I have a feeling Gaethje is going to get this done. They’ve both improved, but I think Justin has improved more. If Justin shows up and times his power shots and uses calculated aggression I think he might even finish Dustin. Will be an incredible fight.
I agree. I think it matters just a hair more to justin as well. Ik it sounds lame, but i honestly believe it. And i think the altitude is gonna be more of a factor than dustin believes. Since they are so evenly matched, it very well could be the "little" things that are the difference.

my instinctive reaction is that Dustin takes this one like 3-2 or gets a guillotine... but i dunno. Justin managed to figure out Fiziev in 3 rounds so his fight IQ has improved a lot
I can only watch your solo videos because when you two are together you just make googly eyes for 30 minutes and then there's 30 minutes of ads. All that for about 7 minutes of actual content. These are great.

My only disagreement is in Hardy’s assessment of the difference in dustin and Justin’s performances against chandler. Dustin may have gotten the finish but he was getting beat in the majority of that fight. Chandlers wrestling was a huge factor and Dustin was getting beat up on the ground. Michael won most of the first until dustin got up at the end and was piecing him up. Chandler pretty much wrestled all of round 2 and could’ve done the same in the third but dustin took advantage of a technical error in chandlers slam and got that choke but i would argue that Dustin was losing until then.
Justin clapped Michael bro. He boxed his face off, dropped him in the second and wasn’t damaged as badly as other fights. I think that fight demonstrates the difference in their wrestling and striking. Justin has better overall distance management when he’s on his game. I think he demonstrated how good his defensive wrestling can be when he stuffed chandlers takedowns and got back to his feet immediately. Justin also fought faizev and won against a guy who looked faster than him by having better timing and foot work. This fight is going to stay on the feet and i think Justin got way better at striking while dustin while clean and technical has stayed mostly the same.
It is difficult for me to see anybody beating Dustin in a stand up fight but I will never ever doubt Justin.. idk what will happen and I dont want either of them to lose but it is what it is.. this will be a banger and we know it

The Altitude is a much much bigger issue than given credit. Look back to Usman dominating Leon through RDs 2-4&3/4 - shit every fight that card the person who didn’t train at altitude was gassed and the other was good or decent. JG trains at about 5400 ft and when he does cardio at Red Rocks it’s like 8-9000ft / unless Dustin somehow catches JG immediately as this fight dips into rds 2/4 watch for DP to dip in cardio and JG to find him and damage him mercilessly
Everyone that’s leaning towards Justin immediately points the altitude because because they know Dustin is a better fighter

Poirier is still pretty much the same fighter he was in the first fight but Gaethje is more refined lately.
Against Fiziev he was a new version of himself.
I agree, and I want Justin to win because Dustin got the first one. My feeling is though Dustin is so damn durable. I don’t think Justin can finish Dustin. I want Justin to win, but I have a feeling Dustin will pull it off.

Poirier looked better than Gaethje did against Chandler and Charles, and the only improvements Gaethje made against Fiziev was throwing a jab more and fighting a little bit smarter
@@holden9278Chandler had already taken crazy damage from Gaethje before he fought Dustin. Not a reliable metric to measure their improvements.
@@mrspiff6955 The damage Chandler took from the Gaethje fight didn't look like it affected Chandler at all it's not like he got knocked out by Gaethje, and what exactly are these improvements that Gaethje has made he just had one of his worst performances 2 fights ago, and the only improvements I saw against Fiziev was him throwing more jabs and fighting a little safer
I think Gaethje has a better shot than people are giving him.

Heres my idea with the BMF belt, the last BMF fight was 4 years ago. I say we do this every 4 years, new winners every time. Maybe the next time we let the fans vote their fighter they want to contend for it. Create a bracket, find a weight class and the two most highly voted fighters compete for it. If i had to guess, the next contention for this belt under the previously mentioned criteria would be a welterweight Do Bronx vs Gilbert Burns.
The BMF is a very subjective thing man so you can't really define who fights for it, except those who put up a good show
It's a bit ridiculous that only lightweights can fight for it.

Justin hasn’t improved that much, if it takes him until round 3 to remember what a jab is like in the fiziev fight then Dustin is going to put a life altering beating on him

Justin doesnt just walk into range and trade anymore, watch the Fizzy fight again. Mute the bias announcers, slow the speed down a bit, and pause frame to frame on each exchange. Fizzy got picked apart, barely landed anything. I just became obvious in round 3, but the entire fight dude was outclassed.

I've been following Gaethje for the last couple of years very closely. Therefore here's my prediction of what Gaethje will do in this fight:
1. he will throw less leg kicks, Dustin might check one of those and cause Gaethje to stop throwing them (which is a drawback)
2. If Dustin doesn't push the tempo and pressure Gaethje in the early rounds, Round one or two or even three might be quite boring.
3. The fight will likely go the distance
4. Gaethje will do more damage to the face of DP, however DP will land more punches
Both fighters acknowledge each other's power, therefore will be more cautious, in contrary to the presumption that it's gonna be a banger , it may turn out to be quite a boring fight.
Gaethje has a great take down defence but that means nothing when he gets knocked down and submitted, to get there the Poirier has to win the battle on the feet first and that is going to be very difficult but not impossible, the best option for Gaethje is to make the fight as long as possible and make Poirier tired, step in and out and with combinations and don't get caught, i go for Gaethje win by decision

Anyone who has any floor game should do that against Gaethje, but to get there you have to first, either knocked him down or take him down, i don't think Poirier can take him down, will have to knock him down first and that is not easy although, Olivera did it

Dan what about the altitude? No one seems to be mentioning this and I’m so confused by why. Everyone seemed to think it wasn’t a big factor in the first Leon vs Kamaru fight even though it was clear that fighters were dying all night. And after the second Leon fight I thought everyone would say well I guess it was a factor but not really… Justin trains at a higher altitude than Salt Lake City and Dustin trains in Florida. There’s a huge chance that the altitude is a critical factor in this fight, especially considering the pace!!
What are the odds that this fight even makes it to the distance? Id say low so that might be why people arent reading too much into it. Also Gaethje hasnt been in many 5 round fights. He can train at altitude all he wants but its way different in the cage. Dustin already has good cardio and proved he can hang till the distance many times. He has a better gas tank than Gaethje in general so it might even out lol
As soon as I saw this card was in Salt Lake I was disappointed. The altitude will definitely play a factor in a lot of the fights. Possibly even a reason they didn't make the co-main for the LHW title on such short notice?

The altitude sucks though. Anyone that thinks it doesn’t make a huge difference never played a half court game of bball and after 2 or 3 baskets were bent over dying! I can’t imagine fighting. Granted I was at 9,000 ft but I lived there.

If Dustin can counter the low leg kicks, he will piece Justin up. Gaethje will likely do some damage to Dustin in the process though. Can't count either guy out but Dustin has way more ways to win.
Dustin also nearly lost to chandler arguably of course. After about 2 mins of chandler Justin shut him out for the rest of the fight

I don't understand why so many people have been trying to act like Gaethje made massive improvements he got destroyed by Charles, and against Fiziev his improvements were him just fighting a little bit smarter and throwing more jabs, he made some improvements but it's not like he got way better, and Poirier looked better than Gaethje did when facing Chandler and Charles

I realise this is a me issue, I'm sure she's a lovely person and my sole opinion counts for nought, I do wish her every success, it's certainly not personal in any way but I find her voice so annoying, nothing she says processes for me. And sure it's lovely to see people in love and happy, but the constant giggling at everything Dan says like a love struck teenager out of a comedy sketch is irritating to me. I don't think I've ever watched someone that's annoyed me like that before but when I hear her i feel like I'm listening to a hyperactive child talk about Barbie dolls and my brain switches off. For me, she's like nails down a chalk board. Obviously, it's just personal preference. I also don't particularly enjoy hearing a woman's voice on commentary either and I actually really like Sanko. Makes it sound like I hate women lol, I don't. I think I just find it harder to listen to women's voices than I do mens and even find some women's voices irritating.

Ik Dustin choked chandler out but gaethje had a way Better performance than Dustin did, The only reason Dustin won was because of chandlers bad fight IQ and he was getting dominated on the ground in R2 but i don’t think this fight goes to the ground anyway
