Thanks for a very informative video. I had no idea there was so much to know about PP and PPK mags. I'm glad you were willing to share your knowledge. Much appreciated!!
I'm trying to find some mags for a Turkish MKE Walther clone in 380 ACP. The Mecgar 380 Walther PPK/S did not fit. Thank you very much for your help in advace!
I never realized the subtle differences in the magazines. Looks like the pinky extension on my 1931 PPK is incorrect. It's mottled, indented, with no lip. The pistol also has a lanyard loop below the heel of the grip.
Hello Tom I have referred back to this video several times to refresh my memory. A great educational resource. Thank you so much for your time in developing these videos. Wishes for continued success with your channel and business.
São Paulo Public Force (former uniformed branch of State Police), Brazil purchased some Walther PPs, .380 ACP (9mm Kurz), bottom magazine release, in 1936. Only officers with rank of Lieutenant or higher was autorized to carry it. These pistols saw service up to 2000s, being last used by Governor´s personal bodyguard team.
JUST FOUND OUT THE $3,250.00 + WAR-TIME PPK I GOT FROM COLLECTORS FIREARMS IN HOUSTON, TEXAS, HAS A POST WAR FOLLOWER. THANK YOU FOR EXPOSING THE LESS THAN ETHICAL DEALERS.
@@redcat9436 When you purchase online you’re dependent on dealers description along with pictures to evaluate? So misidentifying or not accurately describing an object is unethical?
The fact why some mags have an extension and some don`t is simple: The one without is the spare mag. The one with the extension is in the pistol while carrying in the holster. The other is in the spare mag pouch integrated in the holster. The one with the extension does`nt fit. Holster can not be closed with a spare mag + extension ... New Pistols always come with a mag +extension and one without ... Another obvious thing: a PP mag fits into a PPK - same caliber of cause.
Just a question, but if you're in a firefight and the spare mag is used, I guess you'd drop the mag, but if you had a bit of time, wouldn't you put it away in the 2nd mag pouch and now it wouldn't fit? I fully realize if in war that you would not care - however, you do muscle memory, if you've practiced putting it away, then you will do that under stress.
Hi, and thanks for the video. Very interesting and informative... Purchased 2 PP's within the past year, then purchased aftermarket Walther mags to lessen wear on original mags. Neither of the new mags. will seat in pistol without pressing mag release button first. Is this because the mags are unworn, or the pistol mag. keeper is worn? The older, original mags work just fine... My thought was to file upper lip on the new mags at the point where they contact the keeper to fix this,... any ideas. Also would consider it a honor to add my two PP's to your data base. One is a 1964, the other is a 1930 Zella-Mehlis. Please let me know if your interested in adding my modest collection to your data base.... thanks!
Thank you great video

Always above the rim, otherwise the five-second rule applies.
😂
“Waffen” is pronounced with a ‘V’ sound, not like “waffle“. Food for thought.

*MAG BOTTOM NOT FOLLOWER.
That's such a small detail it doesn't surprise me that they would have missed it. This doesn't mean they were unethical.
@@redcat9436 It’s my own damn fault for not being thoroughly knowledgeable. Caveat Emptor? Let’s go, Brandon.
@@redcat9436 Still though that’s just your opinion based on nothing; you have no skin in the matter so it’s easy to be charitable?

As a small time collector videos like this are an incredible resource. I am amazed at the level of knowledge you have accumulated. Thanks!
Thanks. Very informative. FYI, I recently saw a .22 PP magazine with a banner for sale. Very interesting.
Love the video, very informative! I've been trying to find the white finger extension myself for a while now
I could not get my mag together until I saw your video. Thank You.
This is great information Tom but I really wish you would write a book.
Do you have a video about postwar PP/PPK magazines? Some are different, ribbed at the left side.
Sorry I do not. I stop collecting at 1945.
The rib is for the post war .380 pistols.
@@redcat9436 Thanks for the answer. My dad has a 1945 'ac' coded PP with just the one magazine. Does anybody make the original pattern magazine?
I can not put into words, how glad I am to find this video.
Thank you
Glad you liked it. Check out some of my other Walther videos. I think you will like them
Thanks for the knowledge , Sir !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😌 i have all .....and for the magasine TPH 22lr ?
I thought it was long enough 😁
is difference in pre war ppk magazine and after ? does it goes in ebery ppk 7.65 magazine ?
Would a small amount of use change the finish to the mags from polished to matt ?
Good question. Maybe. But i have seen early magazines with almost no wear- yet dull finish
Do you have an email address I can send a question with pics attached?
Algun cargador para walter pp pre guerra que alguien venda ..

Death by Powerpoint...:-)
Excellent video. Please do one on PPK/s variations in the Interarms imports and the later S&W versions of mags.
Coming soon !!
You are ruining the channel with all the ads.
Nice video. What color grips were the green finger extension used on?
Standard brown

Question: what does an ‘ -A- ‘ mean on a (PP) magazine? Located on the front of the magazine near the bottom.
Tom you are a national, scratch that, an international treasure! Thank you for your efforts.
