- In this episode, we redo our overview of Nazi Party Leader Pistols. Tom shares new information and beautiful examples of the RZM, Honor Weapon, and Black Honor Weapon variations - all Walther PPK's. Tom also shares more information about the differences between them, who would have had them, how those people could acquire them, and why people joined the Nazi Party in Germany during WW2. He also discusses some additional, yet somewhat controversial, variations of these Walther pistols.

My dad was an MP sergeant in Patton's Third Army. He was very busy handling the German POW's in the Battle of the Bulge and the closing days of the war. He confiscated a PPK Party Leader from a German officer. My brother has it to this day. Serial number is 978346 It has a typical brown grip with the winged emblem and a black holster.

thank you Tom for this fascinating work. i wonder, and apologies if this has already been asked/answered, if you've ever had the opportunity to see and catalog the PK that Dick Winters famously received when a German officer offered it up as his personal surrender when the war ended. thank you again for this important historical work!
Another reason for the 60 deg safety is that the safety cylinder does not get milled out as much on a 60 degree and this makes for a stronger cylinder in general... I think, as I was told this by a collector that I bought mine from years ago. I haven't been able to see the milled areas to compare. For this reason, it is important not to dry fire a 90 degree safety version as it is more likely to crack the safety cylinder which goes through the slide. I wouldn't dry fire any of them for that matter. In my opinion the 60 degree allows for less travel to disengage as well which is quicker to fire. Great videos.
Love your videos man, keep up the great work
Great Video!
Thanks for the hard work.
Great info Tom & thanks !!
Really nice video, I love the longer and more information packed format! Please do more of these kinds of videos when there's a suitable topic and you have the chance.
Thank you also for the new information on the dates and serial ranges!
Just found your channel. Great stuff. Really like how you show other paraphernalia and data, not just the gun alone.
Thanks for watching Herb !!
GREAT video, I really enjoyed it. Thanks
Tom, I think that you out did yourself on this video. This was just outstanding. Very, very informative. Love your video's.
Very informative video, learned a lot! Tiny correction: Hugo Boss didn't design the uniforms but manufactured them, the designers were SS-Oberführer Karl Diebitsch and Walter Heck (a graphic designer who was also responsible for the Sig-Runes logo of the SchutzStaffel). Keep up the good work, would love to see a video on different branches of the German WW2 army like the kriegsmarine or Luftwaffe or maybe a top 5 of the best WW2 pistols. Thanks!
Excellent video ! As a past collector , information is right on .
great information Tom. enjoy the videos .
Always enjoy your videos. Very interesting content explained clearly.
Thanks for all of the good information.
I love your videos! Could you do one on the Mauser HSc, even if it's just a quickie. There are almost no videos on them that compare to the quality of yours.
In my humble opinion Luger is the best looking pistol ever made, the PPK is a close second place!
I think you have the only collection that I would pay good money, just to hold a few of them.
My dad's got one my grampa got after he was liberated after being captured in the battle of the bulge. Apparently it belonged to the warden of the p.o.w. prison. He has a bunch of cool stuff he brought back, lighters, pens, holsters and knives.
I love history, i love guns, what more can i ask?
Old motorcycles! I have a German sidecar copy made by Ural in Ukraine. These are almost perfect copies of the old WW2 units you see in the old wehrmacht films.
@@uralbob1 that sounds like alot of fun.
@@uralbob1Terrible glitchy machines though 😮.
thanks was very interesting be safe
Wehmacht conscript talking to his friend as they approach a Soviet checkpoint to surrender: "Wow, that old guy traded his nice Colonel's greatcoat for mine and even threw in his old PPK! I think my luck is starting to turn for the better!"
Tom, your channel is great! I really enjoy it. Could you make a video on the FN 1922 please?
I can certainly put it on my list of "things to do". Several guns ahead of it but I can work on that. Thanks for your encouragement.
Better the FN 1910
Question. And btw thanks for making videos for us to watch during this shut-in time. I wish I could afford one. That red, nazi dues book, what year does it go to? Obviously they surrendered in 1945, but they didn’t know that was going to happen when they made the book. Maybe 1950?
My PP was original, made in Germany and had a small eagle holding a sword with its claws. It's serial no. was erased, cause of it, I'd sold to a collector.
Your videos are great and very informative thank you
I’m glad you show what’s out there with worrying about ppl slagging you off for showing nazi stuff , this is history and information there for learning, I love to learn new stuff
Coming from England we int allowed hand guns , infact we aren’t real allowed air guns ....well we are but soon to be band 😬
Good content 🏴
King Louis 69 that totally sux your govt can’t trust anybody enough to own something even with strict regulations.. it’s just a no across the board such bs
Amazing
Hi guys, another great video, I have just acquired a lovely condition RZM PPK serial number with serial number 803369 if you want to add that to your records, last three digits scratched into the inside the slide as well as the other correct spec so seems legit to me..
Thanks for reporting. Yours is one of the earliest ones made. 1934. Congratulations.
@@thomaswhiteman4261 Thank you sir, I thought it was an early one so it's great to have it confirmed by an expert..
"Party Functionary" or "Minor Bureaucrat" just doesn't have the same ring to it. 😆
I got a PPK Ser# 261885 with 3 eagles on its side with the number 27 in betwen the wings like, does mi gun have anny value , it is in 7.65 mm cal.
Your site and lugermans are pry gonna bankrupt me
Greetings. Got an RZM PPK recently, and its serial is 820924. Just wanted to add to your list, haha.
I can’t help but wonder if any early commercial PPKs were ordered by the party without the RZM, probably will never know.
I heard it's from 33 34
Possibly comparing the tan party grips to the black party grips, microscopically, would help seal the deal on authenticity. One would believe that the same molds were used for both colors, given they were made in the same factory.
As a PP, PPK/S owner, I've been watching a few LC videos and his fascination and enthusiasm with Nazi - Party leader owned Walther's is a bit perplexing. Out of all the Walther pistol production, why would you own anything related to Nazi's? Hasn't it been well documented how evil they were? I have a first production year 1952 France made Manurhin PP and the fit and finish is on par if not better than many of the 1945 and earlier German Walther's not France's position during Hitler's ethnic cleansing goal.
Rarity, they only offered 30k early on. He's a history enthusiast as well and that adds intrigue. Seems weird to some but it is a collector niche.
Even if Hitler would personally hand over such a weapon as a gift it would almost certainly be in a decorative box and not "hand on gun". He'd never touch these weapons.
May I ask if anyone knows the make and type of pistol Grand Admiral Karl Domitz would have carried in May 1945 at his arrest in Flensburg? Any clue as to a serial number, close to? Research for a book, Cheers and thanks. Makk PS I have it as a PPK 1942. Serial number somewhere near 292216, but I know it is a guess.
I've got one
Thanks
A party gun, hmmmm. Sounds fun.
please do an SS PPK video. I have one if you would like pictures for your data base
don’t leave out the SS/PP I have one in the 981 range
Hi Tom. Were there ever PPKs with black grips and silver eagles on both grips?
mister rogers
Can't you take alot of high quality close ups be of the grips and look for molding fingerprints to confirm if the black grips are authentic?
Yes, and also study the chemical composition. But that is not feasible when you are buying on line, on auctions, or at a guns show.
@@thomaswhiteman4261 sure it is if you can find some tell tell Mark in specific locations that you can rely on. They make portable low power microscopes that you can hook up to your phone. They are small and do a decent job. They are less than a hundred bucks
UK here. No guns but I do have what I believe to be a luftwaffe dress dagger brought back by my grandad. I've looked on line but can't seem to find an exact match. Does anyone know of a good resource to help me find out about it?
Hi mate, try Regimentals or The Old Brigade (both uk), I collect dress daggers and both will be helpful..
@@todderstaffes thank you
I have an RZM marked 32 my Dad took off a German he killed in WW2....serial number 830327. Any information you might have on it would be appreciated....thanks
Your gun was made in later 1934 or early 35. It was offered or sold to a early member of the Nazi party. Not sure what the 32 would stand for other than the caliber, but added after capture.? Just cant say for sure.
not many of these look like they have much wear
In trying to establish a fair price for a RZM marked PPK a friend has, I found you. Your "secret sauce" list of SN's shows RZM starting with 8198**. The pistol I'm looking at bears SN 8062** which clearly falls outside the range shown in the spreadsheet. The barrel and slide show the "crown N". Bluing is 75-80%. Cracks appear on both grip screw locations with the left grip crack extending ~.5". Any information concerning authenticity and value. My Blue Book is too old to be of value. Thank you. Philip
Do you know the original sale price of a pp and ppk in say 1934-1945. I’d love to know the change in price over the war or if you just know a single years price that would be awesome.
Can’t find this info anywhere.
Hi
Can you do a video on pre war and wartime finger rest and boxed magazine ?
Best regards from France
Defintely. Will do that soon !! Thanks
Good video, though personally the use of "Nazi" I find to be inaccurate. Also, the German uniforms were in no way designed by Hugo Boss, Hugo Boss was simply manufacturing the uniforms. They were designed by Walter Heck & Karl Diebitsch.
Thanks for watching and for the clarification on the uniform design.
La mejor la walther ppk
The RZM program puts me in mind of the Flash Gordon decoder rings and other paraphernalia that you could order off cereal boxes. Be one of the cool kids and have your own RZM PPK.
And the PPK is the best pistol ever made
I have a PPK with serial # 235XXXK, where does it fit in year manufactured
I believe that is about 1938
Didn't Hitler kill himself with one these Walther's? He had two pistols he usually carried and one was a small Walther like these.
It's a controversial subject, most people think he used his 7.65 mm PPK. Some first hand accounts say PP some say PPK. We'll probably never know for sure. We do know both pistols were on a table in the bunker when he killed himself. Gunche found both pistols on the floor at his feet after he killed himself.
Why not joining because one sees the necessity?
It only has 6 numbers
Mine dosent have the rz
The "skinny one" was Stan Laurel, one of the greatest comedians to ever appear in film.
Is it just rare PPK's/PP's serials you are after or run of the mill Zella guns too ?
I want any and all pre 1946
@@thomaswhiteman4261 ahh ok that list I sent you was just the rarer ones as I thought thats all you wanted, will sort some more out for you then.
I have an RZM PPK in 837xxx range.
All you need now is shooting videos and you will give forgotten weapons a run for there spot
Hello Tom. Can you please tell me anything... about 808221? Thank you in advance
It is an RZM party member PPK. You can email us at info@legacy-collectibles.com
@@LegacyCollectibles 820,000 to 845,000
Correct serial number range of 820,000 to 845,000 and Crown/N markings for the 1935 RZM production run, with the proper serial etching inside the slide, and ninety degree safety. I guess this answers my question... Thank you very much!
My father brought back an RZM 1934 PPK. How do I get you the serial number?
Email to info@legacy-collectibles.com
I have one that my Dad brought back. P/L grips, Crown over N, Ser.# 176xxx K
Correct serial range. Sounds like a great souvenir that will only go UP in price.
@@thomaswhiteman4261 Also I have a S/42 PO-8, and AC/44 P-38 . Like the PPK they came back with my Dad. I am 66 years old with no one to leave them to. I would sell, But only face to face as I have trust issues.
Hey Steve! I think we can help you with that. If you feel comfortable, give us a call at 610-981-6041 or email us at info@legacy-collectibles.com. We'd be happy to help you!
Dear legacy I find I'm very interested in vintage WW2 guns but I live in California is eny vintage ww² guns available to California thanks for your fine videos
I would never store anything in plastic bags for long term, they trap moisture. Yikes
Not rcm
And this is something that you might not know is that the ancient name of Germany 🇩🇪 is Assyrian which means warmonger !!! Arryan derives from Assyrian !!
I love all my walthers heil yea

stumbled across this video. didnt realize it was half hour long. not really into Nazi guns. but watched till the end. suprised that Nazi idiology guns cost that much. kind of sad to see Nazi guns being valued so much for all the terror they've done.
Hey. Thanks for watching. A lot of people feel the same way about Nazi guns so I understand.
But I recommend this video I did which takes a little different perspective on Nazi guns.

@Nobby Barnes Idiot.
Why be so selfish...there are people who would love a chance to own 1 of the many items youre hoarding in your basement in a plastic bag? Thats makes no sense at all. These items should be in private collections where they could be appreciated by more than 1 guy.
