Just picked up this game recently myself as I'm a huge fan of all (well most) things Conan. I loved the minis included and saw the game had good reviews. Gotta say after watching this that I'm really excited to give it a try myself! Thanks so much for the battle report!
Also you can very well do a lightning storm the last turn, you recover more gems if heroes die. so you would recover 4 gems for being agressive at the end.
Another great batrep. Wil’s on a roll so far, but can his luck hold up. Also might need to perform some ritual sacrifice as clearly you’ve angered the dice gods!
Great video, as usual, I love the battle reports you guys do. Question; after watching the DOOM video awhile back, and then this one, I am wondering, what is your favorite dungeon crawl style game? I bought DOOM but haven't been able to play yet. Of all the games in this genre out there (DOOM, Conan, Descent, IA, etc) which are your favorites/recommendations?
Oh, there are so many (and I have so many). I don't really have a favourite, they hit the table depending on what kind of game (and especially what theme) we feel like playing. Dungeoncrawlers tend to be relatively similiar in terms of mechanics. Possibly Descent and IA have seen the most sustained play. I probably wouldn't call Conan a dungeoncrawl as there's no 'adventuring group exploring' element, instead it's scenario based.
The Esoteric Order of Gamers similar to the new DOOM game in that regard(scenario based), I guess. Another scenario based one I enjoyed is Level 7 Omega Protocol.
Oh, it's hard to say. But for an insight into painting times, keep an eye out for my upcoming videos on painting Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soul Wars. I've actually kept track of the painting time. Then again, I've been painting miniatures for almost 3 decades. :)
Obviously you haven't discovered my website, the Esoteric Order of Gamers, where at last count there are more than 340 free rules summary and reference sheets, all made me by me, for your enjoyment and edification!
@@EsotericOrderGamers It was so tense I really wanted to see the hero succeed! xD And I couldn't help feeling so bad that you missed these things xD I understand it, but it was a nail biter :D
It seems you forgot that you get extra gems when other heroes are killed. So being active you would have gotten back 3 gems once Conan was killed and 4 gems instead of 2 at the end. Those extra two gems definitely could have made the difference.
Maybe this has been asked already but...you seem to be giving yourself free movement? I don’t have the game (yet!) but you spend one gem to move 2 spaces (with Conan) and then an extra gem per space thereafter? It looks like you’re moving your dudes without spending gems as long as your not going beyond two spaces....
Mistakes were made. Well, I feel (yes, very subjective) that this game favours the heros too much. You shouldn't be able to nearly win the game after making so many (sorry :D) wrong decisions.
Mistakes are always made, surely you know that about us by now! ;) It depends on the scenario though. I don't think you could say that the game favours the heroes across every scenario. And being scenario and luck based, it's also not a game where I'd lose too much sleep over game balance!

Glad you enjoyed it! You won't be disappointed, it's a great game.

Oh well, next time!
Great ending!
I was amazed it came down to the wire, considering my very poor play early on.
I'd love to see another Battle Report featuring Conan or Star Trek Ascendancy. Those were both great!
I'll keep that in mind!
Unbelievable Game to the Last.. Extremely Entertaining.. Keep making these Fantastic Videos..!!
Looks fun
I'm glad I'm not the only Overlord who can't narrate the background story LOL

Fun report!
Great game! Will was slightly incorrect the 1st level magic-user spell is a "magic missile". Peter really needed that spell
The d4 damage or whatever it does probably would't have turned the tide for me. :( Damn skeletons!
Good stuff. I have the Yahtzee poker game that your dice tray comes from!
I definitely need to make an EOG-themed one.

Yes, I painted my whole set of that and I must play it again!
Sweet! I would love to see that. I wish I could paint. How long does it typically take you to paint a game like that?

Maybe i wrong, my English not good)
But if enemy models attack separate and hero must defense separate from each enemy model)
In the end wizard can restore 4 gems for 2 died characters, so he was have more chances)))
Cool and funny report, but very suicidal heroes😉
This is CONAN, he doesn't hang around at the back! :)
where did you get those rule reference cards?

@@EsotericOrderGamers oh i did not know! Thanks!
Why didn't you reroll any dice when you made your last Lightning storm? You had 2 spare gems to use.
Probably just caught up in the excitement of the moment. :)

Conan's an excellent game.

Ahh, you're so right! I completely forgot that rule when I got caught up in the action. Doh!

You don't spend a gem to get the free movement allowance, only for movement beyond that. Check my rules summary. :)
Stygia??? But isn't this board from the corebox not stygia
Sure. But the scenario blurb just mentions Stygia as part of the background story.
The Esoteric Order of Gamers Oh for a sec I thought u guys we're gonna make utube history and b the first to do n expansion playthrough..lol
I'm not sure if it would be quite that world-shattering an event. ;)
