I don't think the hostage gave up the safe house location under interrogation. Seems like Giah did that when she slipped away from the car and made a phone call
Ya, he didn't. It was definitely Gia'h
THIS! It showed how brutal Gravik is to anyone that betrays him or his cause.
I feel like they're building towards Gravik ordering Soren* being killed. Or maybe did it himseld
I think Gavik knows Giah Told look at his face when they shoot him/ he looking at her as she flench when he dies👽👾
i still don’t know why… like was it to make sure they didn’t have a safe place in a certain street or town? was it to make sure that Brogan WOULD die ? i don’t understand what Giah’s point was because she had to have known that would get Brogan killed…
@@TDhexada same. I can't work out what she's doing. I like that though, keeps it interesting.
The dialogue in this episode is honestly peak. Loving the show so far.
"Your boots...*SNAP*...barely hit earth!"
That was an actor who was fully invested.
That train scene & the Rhodey scene were two of the best examples of acting and dialogue in the MCU. Not since Daredevil & Punisher have we gotten drama that well done.
I was kind of underwhelmed by first ep, but that second one upped the bar by a lot! No need for action, when dialogues are this good. Im waiting to see who will the finale bring. I know its Furys story, but its clear he cant fight super skrull on his own. Will the new avengers form in the end? Perhaps dark avengers will form like in comics, when Norman Osborn killed the Skrull Queen ending the secret invasion? Seems like wishful thinking, but who knows. Probably wont play out exactly like comics, but some other villain character may step up in the finale? Perhaps someone from Thunderbolts? Siege of Asgard can very well be on the way similiarly to the comics.
that train scene and the Rhodey/Fury scene were top-notch!!!
Now we know how Fury was able to hook Hawkeye up with a secret farm so easily. He's had a lot of practice.
I think Olivia Coleman is a fantastic casting choice and she makes awesome choices when it comes to her playing Sonya! That stone cold brutal sweet lady act is hilarious, I hope we see a lot more of her, in the show and in future movies.
I love her as an actress.
It was crazy seeing mary poppins going all jack bauer. There's something unsettling about brutally torturing someone with politeness and a smile.
The tweed coat and the old lady pocketbook in the crook of her arm: priceless.
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet - but it amazes me that the UK has the Prime Minister, and Eastern Europe has the leader of NATO. But the person elected to be a Skrull to manipulate the U.S. for this council is a conservative media personality. They said the quiet part out loud.
Fury being married makes sense when you consider he also set Hawkeye up with a secret location for his wife and kids.
Fury's holding his wife was a fitting end to his destroyed professional life. Stellar acting by Sam, Ben, Olivia, and Don wasn't a surprise; but solo scenes like Juliet Stevenson (Elizabeth) made this a great episode.
I deadass am enjoying the very serious side of the MCU here. It was fun watching Gods, the Multiverse, the Quantum Realm and other things post-Endgame. But, it was quite nice seeing something that reminded me of Captain America: Civil War (aka the BEST MCU movie).
What a damn great episode. I don't know if whether or not I liked this episode more or liked the first episode more.
Yes, it's not as flashy as typical MCU content (which "fans" ironically complained about), but I'm still digging the meaty elements of this show.
The tense discussion between Rhodey and Fury, as a Black man in America, was *chef's kiss* Damn, I LOVED it. I also really loved the tense conversation between Talos and Fury on the train. Have I mentioned that this episode was tense?
Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik? The more I see him onscreen, is shaping out to be a damn great villain. I know people will be disappointed that no big names are revealed to be Skrulls now, but I think the fact that World Leaders and political analysts are scheming behind the scenes is much more topical to right now.
Olivia Colman during the torture/interrogation scene was delightfully charming and disturbing. I'm liking her vibe in the show/universe. That twist at the end??? Holy hell! Fury is married to a Skrull!?!?!? WHAT!?!?!?
Honestly, if the show keeps up its pace, it'll be up there with Loki and WandaVision and Moon Knight for best MCU Disney Plus show.
Can't wait for this Wednesday!
it really gets on my nerves when mcu “fans” complain about it being too “funny” but when something more serious comes around, they ALSO complain. like, why are they even watching the mcu at this point if they’re gonna criticize everything 🙄
@@cloudbicep Whoa, it's almost like the MCU has millions of fans with millions of tastes! Nice for you to let us know that the MCU only has one fan!
I agree with Loki and Moon Knight. Wandavision, On the other hand, I'm still disappointed with the ending
Love it when the homies are all together, but I also support Adam wandering Europe for a while, checking in whenever he stumbles across an internet cafe with a larger, bushier beard each time! The Rhodey/Fury scene in this episode was incredible!!
That Rhodey/Nick Fury scene was 🔥🔥
Rhodey seems kinda sus.
Sonya is now my girl-crush😍
Like all of the psychopaths in Earth's history, Gravik does an excellent job of rationalizing his desire to make war on humanity.
Yes but they put the skrulls in high places and they still carried on the humans ways instead of your there power to better earth 🌍
@@delmarfrazier2727, we don't know that anything the Skrulls would do would "better Earth." All that we know is that Gravik's followers want to change it (terraforming it you will) to be "more like" Skrullow and they don't care what effect that might have on humanity.
@@LeeCarlson now because Nick Fury didn’t keep his promise! Wtf are you watching!
@@delmarfrazier2727 I dont bloody care they're tryna make humans go extinct. No amount of reasons would make me side with them lmao
Gravik is a much better villain than the flagsmasher on fatws
in regards to why Gravick is doing this now and not earlier. I think it’s the same thing that Talos was mad at Nick for. I don’t think it’s because it’s been 30 years, I think it’s because after the Blip, Gravick feels like Nick has stopped trying.
He told us why already the Skrulls in high places are still drinking the humans koolaid and not bettering his people
2 of the best scenes I've seen in a long time in this episode. In one of the trailers for the series, it had Gravic with a long stretched out entangled arm looking like Groot.
Thankful for Heroes reforged giving us an oasis of non-judgmental people to vibe with while we enjoy a show. Even the other "positive" reactors who usually are so good, have been weirdly hostile and hateful about this series during their videos.
who? i only watch fictional darling, blindwave + heroes reforged for mcu reactions. She-hulk & hawkeye was a good litmus test for how toxic some channels are. And before some immature people cry saying 'you can dislike she-hulk & hawkeye without being toxic'...ofc you can but its clear when its coming from a hateful misogynistic place vs valid criticism.
@@cresentj100%
@@cresentj The Den of Nerds for one is a UA-camr that bashes this show from a seemingly hateful and biased viewpoint he just nitpicks at everything and says this show is boring but does not give valid criticism at all and some of his followers cry that Nick Fury talked about segregation one time in the show smfh
@@tomimdawodu6808 channels that use click bait drama thumbnails on most of their videos + have some variation of geek/nerd in their channel name rarely produce content worth watching, is often toxic and usually invites and cultivates the worst audiences. Just something to think about.
Reel Rejects, pReviewed, and Omn1 are into the show.
I didn't even catch the surname of [Olivia Colman's character] originally. It's Falsworth -- some nice deep Marvel connections there.
Gravik is an angry adopted son, student and admirer of a great man that let him down. I believe Fury raised and trainec Gravik like he was his son.
The DNA samples means there are Skrulls in Damage Control
i love the writing on this. and funny enough, this series is giving me Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy. might be time for a rewatch. love it.
also, Olivia Coleman's Sonya [Sonja?] calmly doing the interrogation is splendid!
I would love a behind the scenes on the Rhodes and Fury scene, wonder how much of it was written or how much Cheadle and Jackson adlibbed the scene.
Sam Jackson wrote this episode
@@delmarfrazier2727 ah thanks that explains it. No way that scene was written by regular Disney writers room it was just too good.
S Tier Acting throughout this episode!
When you mentioned the F4 it finally clicked - they are doing his powers accurately but the long way round - Groot = Mr. Fantastic; Extremis = Johnny Storm, Cull = Thing and I guess Frost beast = Invisible woman and has come kind of stealth...
Shoutout to Kris Bowers great score.
The acting in this show is so great. Love the toned down, realistic, gritty feel to this. It’s very refreshing considering some of the recent releases in the MCU
Everyone seems to not understand the machine. It's a bright light focused toward the center. My guess, it's a vita radiation generator, the same kind of radiation that created Captain America and the harvest that's referred to is probably looking for super soldier serum or something close to it.
Also, Hector made a great point. In the comics, Super Skrull was created by using the fantastic four dna. Well look at the dna they have, most if not all of the dna samples coincide with a fantastic four ability.
So far I really like the actor that plays Gravik. He is owning it!
"even when I'm out, I'm in" was the moment Nick Fury truly came back.
This episode had the two best scenes of dialogue in the entire MCU - the Talos/Fury train discussion and the Rhodey/Fury discussion. So good! Love this show so far!
" Daughter of a *Failed General* " - Talos was the war general in Skrullos' last stand.
A million Skrulls, some settling down with humans... Wonder how different/tolerated their kids will be. 🤔😉
What's funny is there already is a habitable mcu planet for skrulls to move to. Thanos's garden.
"There is not enough room or tolerance on this planet for another species!"
This also works as a hint about Mutants.
Yes, I think Rodie is a scroll because his Armor Wars movie is coming up. I think the last episode will show us him in one of the harvest farm's with the humans they keep alive for the memories. In his movie, he will have to get all the Tony Starks tech that his scroll counterpart has stolen or gave away.
But I also think Maria is a scroll and still alive. At least her body is, but we will see on that, too.
The scene between Fury & Rhodey to me was equivalent to that scene in the movie HEAT with DeNiro & Pacino. Two Master's just EATING THESE SCENES UP.
Augustine in 12K and Hector in VHS
Fury’s married and he has a stepson …Gravik😮 I am calling it 😅
He called him Nick >.>
I'm here for the "fast acting tinactin" lmfaooo
Those scenes with Talos and Rhodes were perfectly written and acted, the ending with Nick Fury's wife was suprising :)
This is the reason you get these great actors for these roles. They are killing it on these shows with the dialog
This episode was so good. The dialogue was top tier and elevated by the brilliant acting. And I loved your reaction guys, but I gotta say I miss my boo Adam 🤗😍 he needs to get back asap.
We 1000 percent need that Nick Fury “get these mf Skrulls off my mf planet” moment
Rhodey is a Skrull. Loving the writing and acting on the show.
Agreed. There is no way Roadie would talk to Nick like that.
We need series like this from MCU. Serious Vibe & interaction 2 people so crazy damn good
As much as it pains me coz I love Rhodey, but I do not trust him at all after this episode. He was uncharacteristically brutal with his words and how he spoke to Nick. Definitely intrigued to see how it all will unfold
I like how unlike Fury, Gravik is participating in the fights of his people. One sure way to inspire followers, that if your general is willing to die for it, then so should you. Same for Namor.
This is where the fun begins
"Leave the skrull, take the cannoli."
I think a lot of scrulls got blipped by Thanos bcus they didn't belong to earth and gravic go through some major loss may be that's the reason he is so pissed.
Episode 2 is pure acting. Everyone stepped their game up in this episode.
I'm not normally a huge Marvel fan, but I am really enjoying this show! The writing in the episode was superb. I was literally on the edge of my seat during the scene on the train with "Tell me something I don't know" and then again when Nick got fired. Even the torture scene was amazing (Olivia Coleman can play a stone cold bitch so well). The acting chops of these people is out of this world!
Agreed! I was about to say, Captain Marvel also didn't "keep her word", since Nick Fury mentioned that both of them were going to provide them with a place to live back in the 90s. It seems to me that Fury is taking the brunt of the blame. Great series so far, I'm engaged! Also, people were speculating that Gravik was Fury's son, but it's been established he's not in this series. However, seeing his wife is a Skrull, there is a possibility that there is a half human-half Skrull out there.
I love that Fury nemesis and a person that killed Maria Hill is gonna be first Super Skrull in a second. Cant wait. I kind of hope that Rhodey is Skrull, even though he acted very much like real Rhodey + that some other superhero is skrull already and that we get few super skrulls fighting few avenger level friends Fury is going to call in
Unbreakable reunion! The actress who played his wife played his mom in Unbreakable
Hector!! You are sooooooo crazy! Gamora, She-Hulk.....🤣🤣🤣
The actress playing Fury’s wife was also the woman who portrayed Mr. Glass’ mother in Unbreakable.
I love the show so far. I hope this series helps set a president for the seriousness of upcoming things like daredevil, punisher, blade. They need to be rough, dramatic, serious, bloody.
Also, if the powers of the super scrulls will be a nod to the fantastic four, who's dna will they have for flight or invisibility? They allready have strech (groot), raw power (cull obsidian) and fire (from im3)
One of the better MCU entries of late...lots of strong writing. Love the start.
Ok I'm totally reaching here, I know... But it just came to my mind that this could potentially lead into the "creation" of the F4 with the machine and the powers. Like the husband is working on that machine and BOOM... It's probably not happening, but I meaaaaan, it kinda would make sense?!😅
Hello guys. Doesn’t Fury know the Asgardians are on Earth? And also the Inhumans. Looks like Fury is all along, time to call his old friends from LA. The Agents.
cull obsidian = the strength of ben grim
frost beast = the invisibility of sue storm
extremis = the fire of johnny storm
groot = the stretchiness of reed richards
How to make the Super Skrull without Fantastic Four.
Take DNAs from Groot to entend body, cull obsidian for brute strength, extremis for fire, and frost beast for force field maybe?
cant wait for the reveal..
@HeroesReforged I'm pretty sure they're making the Super Skrull in that secret lab. Lol, I made this comment like 20 seconds before Hector's comment to the same
I am just curious who in Marvel or Disney has connection (or roots?) to Slovakia, because it is not for the first time in Marvel franchise. One mention was in the animated series The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, second one (I know of) was in the Falcon & Winter Soldier series (airport in Bratislava) and now in Secret Invasion... Coincidence? Wish I know :-)
So the DNA they have,
Cull Obsidian=Rock as in the Thing
Extremis=Fire like the Human Torch
Groot=I think they are going to pull Groot's ability to stretch his limbs for Mr. Fantastic
Frost Beast= I don't know how they'll fit this to Sue, or maybe they are just going to change it to ice
But, that right there, is definitely a recipe for the Super Skrull.
Groot = Mr. Fantastic/stretching abilities
Extremis = Human Torch/fire powers
Cull Obsidian = The Thing/super strength
Frost Beast = Also super strength?/I’m not sure
Seems like they're replacing invisibility with frost powers, which makes sense given what they have to work with.
Groot -> Reed Richards
Extremis -> Human Torch
Cull Obsidian -> Thing
That's three of the potential FF right there...
Anyone who knows me, knows that my favorite Marvel show is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and nothing had come close to it.. but these first two episodes already have me wondering if Secret Invasion will finally be the show that surpasses AOS for me.
CHULOS!!!
I don't think Disney will let Fury drop the F-bomb, unless they have other dialogue cut it off! 🤣 Glad you are liking the show so far!
They let starlord, so why not fury, at least at some point
❤❤❤love
I’ve been dying to see if you guys have the same theories that I do!!
The opening scene for this episode should’ve really been at the start of episode 1. Making this conflict a result of Fury’s own failures, and making Gravik such a personal antagonist, really is such a perfect idea.
the scene works well exactly where it is, IMO. I prefer how episode 1 drops you right into a sense of urgency rather than a flashback
Idk, after rewatching this I think that Mariah might have been a Skrull. They wouldn't show her mother her body even though she was only gut shot.......why wouldn't they show her to her mother when her face was uninjured and presentable??
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666They are taking her casket off from one place to another, they’re not gonna open casket in the middle of nowhere, this isn’t a funeral yet.
@@CaptainPikeachu at this point if I'm not seeing it not believing it 😂
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666 they held on her body way way way too long for it be a Skrull. Once a Skrull dies they turn back to their true form.
why didn't a million skrulls invade earth by now? I assume it had to do with the fact that the council had level headed leaders like Talos. And I also assume that these refugee's were happy to have a home, where they could hide from war.
nick fury be like thcik bushy eyebrows !
I've heard in another video that it's possible Rhodey could be a Skrull. There MIGHT be some truth to it...idk. He did mention investigating Skrull invasion 15 years prior. It could've happened then.
Rhodey telling Fury, "maybe we should call our friends," would be a good suggestion coming from a Skrull that wants Avengers superpowers.
Gravik is making Super Skrulls. This means Fury needs help... but who?
Raise your hand 🙋🏾♀️ if your OCD is triggering with Hector and Agustin on the wrong side of your tv screens 😂😂😅 Just playing guys 🤓
Did you catch that Emperor name drop?
Garlic 🤣😂😂
The threat I think could be stoping the Cold War from becoming a Nuclear War?
Where’s the reaction and mini breakdown of Kraven The Hunter Trailer’s
I keep attempting to explain to people that Skrulls are the kudzu of the Marvel Universe and that what we have seen of the Kree may not be the whole truth.
Héctor is the skrull
Cant lie I was hoping he'd say "Im Nick Fury MFKR!"
I don't think it's fair to say that the MCU streaming shows are in any way the same or formula. Seems like Marvel's been going out of its way to avoid repetition.
WandaVision: sitcom pastiche
FatWS: buddy drama
Loki: sci-fi adventure
What If...?: Pure comic book zaniness
Hawkeye: father/protege story
Moon Knight: psychological thriller
Ms. Marvel: coming-of-age story
She-Hulk: fourth-wall breaking comedy
Secret Invasion: spy thriller
How anyone gets "formula" from this is beyond me.
Been waiting since we met nick fury wife
This episode is a non-stop "for your consideration" acting reel of people turning in their best career performances.
I still dont think Fury knows his wife is a Skrull
Love this show so far, but its kinda weird that Fury said "there isnt enough room for another species on this planet", while letting Asgardians settle on earth at the same time. They even gave the them land and let them build a town... So basically its only a problem with the Skrulls because they dont look human 🤔
I think the difference is context and numbers. The Asgardians are small number enough and generally have positive connotations given that people love Thor. The Skrulls however are here in larger number AND mostly importantly, they can shapeshift into anyone. It’s not that they don’t look human, it’s that they can impersonate any human. Humanity already has enough mistrust without the Skrulls’ natural abilities making them seem even more distrusting. The Asgardians will always be Asgardians, but the Skrulls can become anyone, and that knowledge is gonna cause chaos in the world because people won’t know who is really who.
I don't find it that weird that Fury would acknowledge that a bunch of white-looking Nordic aliens would be accepted, but not the Skrull, given that this all comes on the heels of his story about living during segregation.
Not to mention the shape shifting, which, no matter how tolerant you are or want to be, that is going to be a tough sell, psychologically. There's always gonna be that mistrust/fear.
@lisamarieligreci-newton7804 this whole episode was about being an outsider. Like the nature of spies already entails a degree of xenophobia. Your own government turning their backs when you don't get what they need for whatever under the table plans of global conspiracy they setup.
So, Asgardians being accepted as they are human and pass for "model minority status", when Skrulls give credence to the fear most racists, ethnocentrists and xenophobia have about "the others", made the most sense why Nick bonded with Skrulls.
Black people was the 1st to be "othered", treated like animals, even thought to be demonstrated on African soil, by imperialists. The Kree are ethnocentric. Skrulls fitting in on Earth is like other races code switching to be not seen as a threat in any White racial majority part of society.
I am wondering if nick would even be aware about the monsters and demons that exisits in the shadows as narrator in the beginning of were wolf by night mentioned or the severed monster heads? that would be something why he also tales into account that there is not enough space for the skrulls to coeixists with humanity on earth.
I be interested how he would think of presence of monsters and later on mutants exsiting on earth.
I feel that the million skrulls on earth is not the only thing fury should be worried about moving foward in the mcu.
What If…? Talos becomes María Hill?!
I don’t know…maybe he doesn’t know she’s Skrull because she changed before he entered, but because he’s keeping her in this secret location, wherever it is, could mean he does know. 🤔🤷♀️
The people who make the show say that he knows she's a skrull.
I don’t think Fury knows she is a Skrull…didn’t give the traditional Skull greeting of pressing foreheads.
Director for the show has said that Nick Fury knows. I think it's just to show they are sharing human customs.
Soooooooo the skrull they rescued then executed.... they convert back to their natural form once dead..is there just a skrull dead out in an open field elmmmm they probably got him later
Spoiler - The Marvels Main Villain Dar Ben Is Nick Fury's Daughter
Why would Furys wife change into a human at the end, makes no sense.. unless fury is an undercover skrull sleeper agent. Fury wouldn't make her change into a human for him.
I did expect Maria Hill to be an LMD, but looks like she's really dead... for now.
Hey guys so what I’m thinking is what you said about super skrull now imagine a skrull with the abilities of groot and whoever else’s dna they have access to 😮
That’s not Nick Fury it’s a Skrull. Nick is still on the S.A.B.R.E satellite. Nick Fury would never marry one. Nick made it clear when he had that conversation with Talos on the train. You heard it here first.
One line seems to be odd. Talos tells Fury he was kicked off the Skrull council. What council does Fury think he's referring to? Talos would seemingly mean the meeting we saw, but Fury was not aware that the Skrulls had infiltrated everything, up to a Prime Minister, and he would not take that well. Fury had to be thinking something else. But what? Why didn't Fury immediately question this?
No actually Fury was perfectly aware the Skrulls had infiltrated various governments, we literally saw him ASKING them to. He started it back the day.
What he DIDN’T know was that all 1 million of the outcast Skrulls were on Earth. He probably though it was a number in the hundreds or thousands.
There are so many questions coming out and little to no answers in this show.......like there are like 5 in my head just about Fury's wife being a Skrull. Hopefully some answers start dropping soon either this all might get really confusing
