Im in SC. Im currently a LPN starting the RN transition program in Jan and will be done Dec. I obviously want to be an NP so I was looking for a fast RN-BSN program... was looking into WGU but then came across your video of completing it in 3 months. USC has a MSN NP program but they prefer 1 year of ED, Medsurg or ICU experience. After looking at AU, i was very happy to see the reqs!! Thanks for the info and I look forward to more videos.
Hey Bri! I know this is an older video but may i ask why you didn’t go with Capella’s np program? I am still in school working on my adn but was interested down the road in their fnp program. Just curious
Great Information. Congratulations, I’m curious what is your specialty as a RN? What type of Nurse Practitioner are you becoming? How many years have you been a nurse prior to being a NP?
I asked another question on another one of your videos. I wanted to ask if you have any hands on experience as an RN? I had to make a huge decision whether I accepted a position and went to school part time or just keep going full time from RN(ASN) thru BSN and the MSN without any RN experience. If you ask any NP out there, most of them say you NEED experience as an RN to be a good NP... your thoughts?
A Thanks for the question. I didn’t have any experience as a RN and went straight to Capella. Capella transcribe the grades and is accredited. You don’t need RN experience to go to NP school, I didn’t have experience. Also I go to AU
Hi, Is the NP program deadline always in March at AU and is it strictly online only? Does the program start once or twice a year? Thank you in advance.
student 2018 yes, the deadline is always in March it’s online; however, you do have to meet once a semester only 3 days. They also do have a psych np program
Great video, great information, and great tips!
