I hate how people dis this game for being "unrealistic" like have u ever played a mgs game in your life, actually, have u played any game in your life? mgs is known to have a great balance of realism and unrealistic, it makes it insanely fun. if u didn't know, games are for entertainment, to capture peoples imagination and to do things u can't do irl. this game series is still my favourite of all time. people also complain about "its got such bad enemy ai" compared to what? this game compared to previous mgs games has the best by far, and compared to other games, its pretty advanced with enemies constantly adapting and enemies still have better sight compared to almost any open world game. if you didn't know, mgs is the game that began the stealth genre, even in mgs 1 the ai was advanced, such as, they noticed footprints on the ground. besides, once again, its not the most realistic game and well, its a game, and a bloody good one at that. there is no other game quite like this series

They are playing in a modified version and I'm sure there is an upgrade that makes it quiet, but on a higher difficulty, I'm sure if you do that, you might as well blast music and shoot your gun in the air.
For me this has already been the best year for games in a long time(definitely the best spring-summer release schedule I can remember) - Bloodborne, Witcher 3, even Arkham Knight; they've all been surprisingly ace and I was not expecting to be impressed by any of them, particularly B:AK. The fact that MGS:V is still to come is just the icing on a surprise peanut butter and jam cake, hand-delivered by Rachel Weisz whilst I'm in the tub.
I been a MGS fan since the beginning, the best ever series for me, I hope to see majority of gamers to be MGS fans not just those who play for graphics etc, Kojima's efforts for this game is priceless and everything he and his team does, do the best job ever getting every detail spot on...I hope he gets an oscar

As someone who hasn't played a Metal Gear since the NES this will be fascinating to play. I don't care if I'm completely lost as far as the plot's concerned. I think this is ultimately what Kojima has always wanted to create for this world. I know I'll love this game and it's themes even though I haven't stepped a foot in it in 25 years.
Even though theres a lot of amazing stuff in this video I find myself quite happy with the fact we can choose characters before a mission..nothing too big but still a nice unexpected feature I guess.
Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is an absolute masterpiece, Hideo Kojima truly outdid himself, the world is so detailed, graphics, sound design all top notch, a joy to explore, while the gameplay is just so much fun! I have played the game for hundreds of hours and still never get bored, so much fun and incredible replay value,one of my all time favorite games. 👏👏👏👏

Same here. MGSV is what got me into Metal Gear as a whole. I've been playing through the main games for the past 6 months and am starting Peacewalker today. It's probably my favourite video game franchise or at least competes with the Dark Souls trilogy.
I wonder how big/steep the learning curve for this game is. It looks like it plays so differently than the rest of the series (even 3 and 4). I'm ready for it.
CHiLLtheBEAST It'll probably be somewhat similar to Ground Zeroes, just on a larger scale. If you haven't played that, I'd suggest getting it cheap sometimes. It's pretty good.
A Hales Honestly, I do, too. When playing MG games for the first time, I find that I enjoy when I fail or die because I didn't get one of the mechanics right. In this video, I most likely would've shot the decoy and triggered an alert or shot the soldier that D.D. kept busy instead of using that as a distraction to get the other one. This game looks very clever, and that's what I like in video games.
EonKool While I don't dislike the game, I can't justify paying the price it has for the length that it is (also, I've been holding out a while for a PS4; just another month). It is a good game and I like the idea of having multiple ways to complete the same objective (much like other entries in the series).

I always try to remember that the loudest voices are the negative ones. I say this because these people in the comments have been fed liquid gold and still complain that the spoon is made of silver. Guys, this game looks amazing. Lack of realism is not a flaw, it's something great, because one of MGS4's biggest problems was the fact that it was a gritty shooter set in the Middle East. I preordered this game, and won't regret my decision, I just know it. And yes, Fallout 4 will be great, and due to it being more mainstream, will probably win a lot more rewards. However, I say that this will likely defeat it in terms of actual quality,(after all, TLOU won over 200 GOTY awards. I don't really listen to critics anymore on that end). Fallout 4 probably won't work at release, anyway, so we won't know how good it is until 2016.

For me this has already been the best year for games in a long time(definitely the best spring-summer release schedule I can remember) - Bloodborne, Witcher 3, even Arkham Knight; they've all been surprisingly ace and I was not expecting to be impressed by any of them, particularly B:AK. The fact that MGS:V is still to come is just the icing on a surprise peanut butter and jam cake, hand-delivered by Rachel Weisz whilst I'm in the tub.

I been a MGS fan since the beginning, the best ever series for me, I hope to see majority of gamers to be MGS fans not just those who play for graphics etc, Kojima's efforts for this game is priceless and everything he and his team does, do the best job ever getting every detail spot on...I hope he gets an oscar

Prior to the events of ground zeroes, BB was fluent in at least 5 languages. Afterwards he barely speaks english.

This is so satisfying to watch, especially since 90 percent of videos of people playing this game are all doing speed runs.
As someone who hasn't played a Metal Gear since the NES this will be fascinating to play. I don't care if I'm completely lost as far as the plot's concerned. I think this is ultimately what Kojima has always wanted to create for this world. I know I'll love this game and it's themes even though I haven't stepped a foot in it in 25 years.

Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is an absolute masterpiece, Hideo Kojima truly outdid himself, the world is so detailed, graphics, sound design all top notch, a joy to explore, while the gameplay is just so much fun! I have played the game for hundreds of hours and still never get bored, so much fun and incredible replay value,one of my all time favorite games. 👏👏👏👏

The music selection is slightly anachronistic (like almost everything in the series): "The Final Countdown" single was on the radio no earlier than October 1986, Take On Me is from 1985, the game is set in 1984.

Same here. MGSV is what got me into Metal Gear as a whole. I've been playing through the main games for the past 6 months and am starting Peacewalker today. It's probably my favourite video game franchise or at least competes with the Dark Souls trilogy.
This game, Tomb Raider, Forza6, Black Ops3, and Fifa16 are the only game anyone needs this year.
I wonder how big/steep the learning curve for this game is. It looks like it plays so differently than the rest of the series (even 3 and 4). I'm ready for it.

CHiLLtheBEAST It'll probably be somewhat similar to Ground Zeroes, just on a larger scale. If you haven't played that, I'd suggest getting it cheap sometimes. It's pretty good.
A Hales Honestly, I do, too. When playing MG games for the first time, I find that I enjoy when I fail or die because I didn't get one of the mechanics right. In this video, I most likely would've shot the decoy and triggered an alert or shot the soldier that D.D. kept busy instead of using that as a distraction to get the other one. This game looks very clever, and that's what I like in video games.
EonKool While I don't dislike the game, I can't justify paying the price it has for the length that it is (also, I've been holding out a while for a PS4; just another month). It is a good game and I like the idea of having multiple ways to complete the same objective (much like other entries in the series).
CHiLLtheBEAST I dunno man. I've put in 10 hours playing and replaying all of the missions on GZ to get S rank and most of the collectible stuff. I'd say it's worth it if you can get it for maybe 15-20 bucks, which shouldn't be too hard.

I think you have a certain amount of times your buddy can die. In this video when selecting a buddy, you will see underneath their name a certain number of diamond dogs logos appear which id imagine represents lives they have? The horse has 0 as it has been stated that the horse cannot die in this game.

I always try to remember that the loudest voices are the negative ones. I say this because these people in the comments have been fed liquid gold and still complain that the spoon is made of silver. Guys, this game looks amazing. Lack of realism is not a flaw, it's something great, because one of MGS4's biggest problems was the fact that it was a gritty shooter set in the Middle East. I preordered this game, and won't regret my decision, I just know it.
And yes, Fallout 4 will be great, and due to it being more mainstream, will probably win a lot more rewards. However, I say that this will likely defeat it in terms of actual quality,(after all, TLOU won over 200 GOTY awards. I don't really listen to critics anymore on that end).
Fallout 4 probably won't work at release, anyway, so we won't know how good it is until 2016.
Sisco Bueno Yeah, I guess so. I didn't say MGS4 was realistic, but I do say that it was grittier than the others. This may be even worse, but I feel like it's going to be more akin to Spec Ops in how it's a gritty look at war and how people react to it.

I remember I liked Metal Gear Solid when I was like 5 or 6 and it was all about stealth. I stopped liking it ever since though, but this is making me consider giving it a chance again. Love the classic songs! Haha.
It is hilarious how the game franchise known for its use of stealth gameplay has evolved / devolved into a 3rd person shooter with badass helicopter extractions that you can play the final countdown on while gunning down enemy soldiers.
