    More so, the best fit points should be balanced in such a way that the points be on both sides. Every concepts still fall in place. you are doing well

    You are the best.
    Every other tutors were using two pulleys only u used 1 which was what we were asked to provide .
    But ur measurement of d1 and d2 suppose to be from equilibrium line
    Displacement should be from starting point pls check it out

    You are right about threads, it kept on pulling the whole thing down.I think the distances should have been measured from the equilibrium position.

      Is not common. The only one in the past question is with two fixed pulleys that's NECO 2011.

    Well done. But I like to suggest above possibility. Can you approach it from the angle of resultant and equilibrium of forces. rather than machine. Since only one fixed pully is required, I suggest that one end of the string would be fixed while the 30g mass is attached to the other end. Any of the other weights is then positioned in turn between the fixed end and the 30g weight, and the equilibrium position is the found, and angles measured. Then the use of triangle of forces or the parallelogram law of dordes may the be employed. Let' us see if this will also work. Thanks for giving me audience.

    For d2 for the 40g mass is it not supposed to start from the equilibrium point ma....thanks for this more grace. Thats y u were having same value with that of 20g

    The mass hanger also has its mass. Did you not put that into consideration. If you add the 30g mass, it will not be 30g again. Could please, explain. Thank you.

      That was why l used 20g mass hangers on both sides at the beginning. So the system will be in equilibrium.

    The line of best fit is wrong. If you are to pick three out of five,then the remaining two should fall on the opposite sides of the line of best fit.

      Something similar was asked in neco 2020 . In fact the instructions are almost the same. The slight difference there is that in the one of 2020, two pulleys were used while in this one, only one pulley is required.
