I have been out of school for some many years but I want to change my career and need Bio and because of the pandemic I have to do it online and I get an etext which explains nothing. I am truly grateful for your videos!! I not only am passing but learning and understanding🙏🙌🏻💕
Great lecture! Just one minor thing: red blood cells don't have DNA nor RNA, with no ribosome in mature cells either. It is essentially just a bag of hemoglobin carrying oxygen and CO2 to and from the lung to tissues.
This mitochondria discussion is interesting. My sister and I both have some weird.... condition? Anomaly? Nobody knows what it is. But every once in awhile, we wake up in the morning with incredibly weak hands. Like we're awake, walking around, getting ready for school, but we can't hold toothbrushes or zip up zippers without a lot of struggling. They remain weak for anywhere from ten to twenty minutes, then they go back to normal, and we go about our day. The best answer I've gotten so far was from my hand therapist (I broke my left hand and a finger earlier in the summer so I have one now) who suspects it's neurological, but she said it's super weird that it's affecting only our hands. I have no idea if she and i came into contact with something toxic as kids, or it's genetic. But... idk, all this "lazy mitochondria" talk got me thinking about it.
It might be a stooped question but: is mtDNA a copy of part of the nuclear DNA or is it unique and specific to the mitochondrion? Also, are there copies of the mtDNA strand in every mitochondrion in the cell?
For the students watching this. Please remember these concepts when you're out in the world solving problems. I have to be learning this shit to understand whats happening to my body in terms of diabetes and heart disease because you people graduated with your brains turned off on this knowledge.
heh, I mean, teaching is really tough. I've taught seminars, and let me tell you, you have a pptx or worse, a stack of cue cards or post it notes. And all these eyes that want to be yapped at by someone with a conversational style. You find you start just kind of.... humanizing everything. I've literally used the phrase "And the happy little bits do x", knowing damn well it's just a bunch of electrons.
Hey man nice video but it's way too long. I'm trying to teach this to my dog so I can start sending him to my highschool instead of me so I don't have to attend but it's quite difficult to get his ADHD ass to sit through this entire video. Would be great if you could add some birds flying around on screen every now and then, that would definitely help him pay attention more. Honestly I don't know why everyone doesn't just teach their dog to go to school for them, only took me 10 mintues to teach him basic algebra and now after 3 days of constant practice he's even better than me. Did you know people get mad at you when you pick up their baby from the stroller and shake them, me neighter but I found out yesterday after some chick started screaming at me and threatening to call the cops on me. I yeeted that kid over the nearest fence and ran away. Soordeean sex god over and out. Peace!

Curious about Organelles and Vaccines; connection? Cell damage? Changes within the nucleus? How this connects for clarity would be appreciated
