you're right! mochi basically just means rice flour - so u can have mochi with different fillings, not just ice cream. red bean paste is also popular. i believe mochi donuts are made with rice flour :)

I've had mango ice cream mochi once before and it was delicious! I'd love to try different kinds of fillings. The red bean paste sounds interesting. Is it sweet or more savory?

@@madiskitchen it's definitely sweet, just has somewhat of an earthy taste. apparently the ones filled with red bean paste are called daifuku . if you have an Asian stores nearby they usually have them in the refrigerated section :)
