Michał Korzistka returned to Austin in 2024 to present the piano concert "The Music of My Soul," featuring the music of Chopin, Szymanowski, and Glenc. The concert occurred on September 14, 2024, at the Draylen Mason Music Studio at KMFA 89.5 radio station at 41 Navasota St., Austin, Texas.
Prof. Dr. Hab. Michał Korzistka graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice and completed post-graduate studies at the Academy of Music in Warsaw. Since 1985, he has been a professor of music at the University of Silesia in Katowice and Arts and Educational Science in Cieszyn.
Prof. Korzistka is an active piano music performer, giving concerts worldwide and participating in numerous competitions and festivals in countries such as Poland, Italy, and Japan.
He has released four solo albums featuring the music of Chopin, Szymanowski, Liszt, Lutosławski, and Glenc. Additionally, he recorded a CD entitled G. Rossini's "Petite Messe Solennelle" with the choir of the University of Silesia, "Harmonia." His most recent album, "Koboko," was released in collaboration with his brother Mikołaj Korzistka and sound engineer Mitch Bochniak.
