that chain zone addition alone makes him the most fun char in the game and gives him so much depth hope it gets to live next title update instead of next season
Honestly, don't even care if this made him slightly better, the animation is too cool and this feels like what his identity should have been the whole time.
I had 14 rep with medjay before this TG and really felt like I was done with his kit possibilities. This change would really give me something to chew on to rep 70. His mixup potential exploded
These changes were great and as a medjay main im happy hes getting these changes. I agree with everything you mention here. Although i wasnt too fussed about the switch stance ability in mid of chains. Its nice to see him have it. Especially now that i dont need to wait for my bp to do a shield bash to confirm my bash anymore😭
Hyper armor on lights needs to go in general. I want jorm to get uninterruptable on his slam and I wish that he could chain his bash from the dodge forward punch. Minor rant lol
Hyper on lights is a weird topic With hitos case you could actually trade with them if the opponent tried to interupt you or did a dodge at the wrong time. Even then you only got hyper off of the light finishers so it wasn’t as oppressive as other things in the game. I can see some justification for them removing medjays hyper lights: He has an infinite combo with hyper at every heavy, having hyper lights could be too much unstoppable force; however, as the video demonstrated there are now situations where you can interrupt the chain with a rando light
Agreed, it is so frustrating the Hulda hammer slam does not have HA. Especially when you iwn teammates hit you out of it. Same problem with the Shaman bite
The meta now is to nerf the only true problematic move on his kit, TRC (Throne room clutch). If they make it to feed more revenge and, if they please, nerf the armor reduction a little bit, Medjay will be perfectly fine.

Not sure how I feel about this. Yeah, Medjay's problem mainly comes from his inability to flow with the stance changes, but I'm not sure that I like the whole removing his armor on staff mode chain lights, and making his axe mode light finishers undodgeable. The zone switch is also going to be annoying, because it automatically changes your stance, instead of letting you pick which one you want to use.

@@Me_Myself_Maly i can’t comment much considering that I play at a higher mmr than most players, and at that level, I had a terrible time using old Shaolin since most players could react to anything he can do, but I can understand more casual level players probably not feeling that.
They need to make undodgeables earned and not free. Look at orochi, he can use it whenever he pleases with no hesitation and he gets rewarded for it but if I use it on gryphon it’s earned by being mid chain and it’s easy to parry

As it is, rather than give Warden anything that might make him feel like he has more than just Shoulder and double lights, he’s been left as the “basic is good hero” for some reason. Do people see Warden next to Medjay and say, “Oh wow, Medjay has all these options, but good thing Warden is fundamentally solid and thus on equal footing!”? Who plays Warden anymore?

You think dodging attacks is less fun than feinting into some silly gb mechanic that makes no sense in physical reality? They have bashes. we need dodges. If you want more blue lights, first nerf bashes please
Sure, it’s a needed change but in my opinion he is a busted character. One of the best gankers and his damage is dumb. Thankfully they nerfed his damage a little bit ago but it still doesn’t make him balanced. No brain cells required.

I was surprised from day one that he had no good means of switching stances in combat. Long overdue!
These changes were great and as a medjay main im happy hes getting these changes. I agree with everything you mention here. I can agree on axe stance chain heavies needing some help, it can't always catch early dodges, at least that's what it feels like.

My only complaint on Medjay is the Blue on light finish, the transition zone, pretty fucking cool

Well Ubi kinda killed Shaolin for me. So I guess I can give Medjay a shot with these changes if I ever get back into FH.

They were in TG a month ago. Super fun to play with. We could see it in the game soon but don’t take my word for it.
