I haven’t, no, during my running and mtn biking in the area I haven’t seen much of any wildlife. There are surely bears and mtn lions out there, but USFS says there are no resident grizzlies in the area.

Adventures like this are so inspiring. The route has meaning to you, and it's not like there's a time goal or restraint, just you and some friends enjoying the journey. Love it 🎊
It's hard to express how much it means to me to see women and people with average bodies running with you. I get so bummed out following athletes that I can't relate to, 10% body fat or whatever 😂 and it means to world to see "average" folks like me doing epic shit and thats what motivates me the most 😊😊❤

I live in Sidney MT. I had to stop doing jiu jitsu for a couple months and picked up running. I've been doing around 10 miles a day. 15 to 20 on Saturday and take Sunday off. I've done this for exactly 60 days. I'm thinking about running the 54 miler in the north Dakota badlands, but have no idea if I will have what it takes to finish. Ive never even ran a regular 26 mile marathon and I'm wondering if I should just do the 26 Instead of the 56.
For a lot of runners, it makes sense to build up distance. Every time you run, you learn, and for something like a 50 miler, it helps to have some experience to help you manage the day. That said, what you say your volume is now doesn’t sound too terrible to take on a 50 miler physically. Ultras require physical ability but are really a mental game. One way to find out if you have what it takes to finish a 50 mile right now, is to try one! You’ll learn a lot!
Congratuations from an 81 yr old grany who lives in Butte. I used to run in races. But cannot imagine running 100 miles in one sretch. Amazing.
Ultra running teaches us how we are a lot more capable than we might think!

That's right! We don't sleep in 100 milers, but we do in 200+ milers (though me only about 1.5 hours each day).
