It helps me type myself to look at what really doesn't look good on me - flounces, frills, fussy patterns are definite no's for me. I'm definitely some type of classic.
That's true for naturals and dramatics as well, though. All of these only really look good on romantics. I agree though - considering what your favorite pieces are and what looks awful on you, even though you might like the style in theory, helps a bunch!
I'm definitely dramatic classic and I like the recommended looks sometimes, but it always feels too modest and serious. Our body type just seems to never be 'on trend' too so I can't try out current fashion pieces without betraying kibbe rules.
I feel the same. The DC body type is too “serious” and “adult”, which may not be very compatible with a lot of cute or playful styles. Everything has to look slim and trim, tailored and elegant and sometimes you just want some more fun! Many years ago, when I was still into Lolita fashion, I took the test and got classified as a DC. Some things started making sense, but it hurt me a little to be told that my body was not suitable for it, so I didn’t pay much attention to the result. Years later, not into Lolita anymore (I still love it however) and again classified as a DC, at least I know why some of my “normal” clothes make me look nice and why others make me look like rubbish.
I was never sure which type I was until I started to look at the related fashion videos. Now I’m 100% sure I’m dramatic classic. The tricky part was that my overall essence matches this body type but my face doesn’t- it’s long and has some defined features but my jawline is very soft. Super interesting all in all
I had a baby in 2022 and lost so much weight and all my curves. I used to be slightly pear shaped and never could figure out my Kibbe type. Now that my body is so different these days I have been able to clearly see that I’m DC. I’ve been watching your channel for a couple of years and am so excited to now know what I really am! Great content, Aly.
In terms of body proportion and tendencies I fit dramatic classic much more than soft classic: I have long arms, well-proportioned sharp shoulders, high-contrast features, if I gain weight it's from the waist down, if I'm at my best weight there's muscle definition everywhere. And yet, if I dress in dramatic classic lines, something always feels "too sharp". So I tend to gravitate towards pure classic or soft classic lines more
I'm either a flamboyant natural or dramatic classic, idk. I'm 5ft 8 and both descriptions are kinda mixed together for me, I wouldn't say Im overly elongated but I definitely have some dramatic/blunt qualities to me. I kinda came up with my own clothing style/makeup that looks good on me but eventually I would like to reinvent my wardrobe again maybe when I'm in my 30s, idk we will see.🤔
When you're stuck between 2 types, think of what is dominant. Any natural type is going to be frame-dominant, and width in the shoulders are going to be the first think you notice. While dramatic classic is more yang than soft classic, their shared dominant feature is moderation/balance. There isn't any one part of the body that "sticks out" from the rest. So when looking at photos of you, ask yourself which is more dominant on you? Also, a good test is trying on some flamboyant natural lines, because a DC will be overwhelmed by them.
Omg! I’ve been watching your videos since you first put them out! I have always known I was typing myself wrong. I was swayed bc I am often told I look like Scarlett Johansson so I’ve let myself think I’m soft natural but I’m just rewatching this video and now I know I’m dramatic classic!!! I’m so excited to have figured it out!!! And now I’m excited to go back and rewatch your videos to focus on my actual body type!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Not sure if anyone else has this experience, but when I was fit (115-135) I was muscular, when I was a little bit overweight (140-170) as a DC I was pear shape everything went to my butt and thighs and I wore padded push-ups to fill out tops. As I got older and developed a thyroid issue and gained even more weight (180+) my waist and bust really filled out and I definitely do not look pear shape anymore. More of a balanced square without kibbe width. As I lose weight I lose it evenly now. When I lose enough I will update if I go back to pear shape. Sharing in case anyone else gained more than 50 pounds over ideal. It can really skew your body shape perception. Kibbe recommendations still work great for me overweight.
I mistyped myself as a Soft Natural, so I‘d love to know too! SN seems to emphasize soft asymmetry whereas DC recommends lots of symmetry and a little structure? I guess 😂 But some things like blouses, more open necklines seem to work on either.
and here I am always changing between natural or dramatic classic. Im mixed between central europe and southeast asia, so Im obviously bigger and taller than southeast asian people (I live in indonesia). Im 169 cm, but I have long torso that made me look short and boxy. I have the face of dramatic classic but natural body (looks muscular even when Im overweight, broad sholder but also sharp at the same time that makes me confused). The clothes suggestion made me think that Im a dramatic classic tho... I look 10 kg heavier with boxy and wide clothes, frills and fussy patterns.
Can a dramatic classic have an hourglass shape? I have a very defined hourglass shape, but I also have sharp features in the face and upper body. I've noticed that I don't look as good in feminine floral type clothing as I thought I did even if I have a very defined hourglass shape. Since I have longer arms and pretty sharp shoulders, it confuses me!
Hi Aly! I was trying to match myslef to one of the Kibbe body types and the test suggested i am a dramatic classic. It seems like it fits me very well, but i do have a very small bust area and rather larger hips- do you think it could place me in another type? Appreciate your work!
I too have narrow shoulders, small breast and bigger hips and was described as Dramatic Classic. If you are more in the middle but more sharp, you are a dramatic classic. If you are a little bit more soft or roundness in your appearance, then more a soft classic. Hope this helps, I have been searching for a while.
I guess Amal Clooney is a dramatic not a dramatic classic, but she wears a lot of great clothes that would fit dramatic classics, especially her work outfits. However, she can pull off some very extravagant outfits so she must indeed be a pure dramatic. Still, as a DC, I find her outfits quite wearable.
Is there a possibility that you could do a video on the romantic ingenue? ...I never really hear about that combination so I'm curious to see if there's any more information about it.

Everything fits, except weight gain patterns, which has got me so confused. A majority portion of my weight gathers around the bust and mid-section :/

I agree. I feel like i would look 10yrs older if i followed the style guides for dramatic classic
@@uyensoldier374This! That's why I am not ready to dress for my body type😅

Same, I might be dramatic classic body and soft classic face
Yeeees, you described me, finally I realised who I am❤
Same, my body is classic more so classic but my face is overall delicate and femenine (classic romantic)
How aesthetically pleasing to see so many Olivia Palermo’s outfits 👑
Thanks for mentioning Olivia’s name. It would be great to see a reference list (w/ names of celebs who fit the “ body type”) in the description box.

Isn't it about time for another Aly drop? I'm so looking forward to the Soft Dramatic vid in this series 🙌🏻

Thank you dear Aly. I'm looking forward to the wardrobe recommendations for Dramatic Classic.
Yay! I've been waiting forever for DC!

@@KaytchC1790 for me nothing sticks out too much so I've realized I'm more of an elongated classic, or dramatic classic.

have a hard time differentiating between DC and FG
The key is the width I believe
FG will have more width and more extremes
Fg doesn't look moderate and balanced
I think I found my Kibbe type. I have excess weight atm and it is placed exactly how she described it.
Thanks!
Great video
I'm questioning everything 🫠
Wow thank you for this! I have a figure fairly similar to Olivia Wilde so the visuals help a ton.
Waiting for Soft Dramatic
It went up today!
can you explain the difference between "Soft Natural" and "Dramatic Classic"?
I mistyped myself as a Soft Natural, so I‘d love to know too!

A dramatic classic can still have an hourglass. Conventional curves and kibbe curves are different. I have curves but not kibbe curves. I'm a DC.
Interesting how many Olivia's are DC 😆

It's Connie Sellecca (a confirmed DC by Kibbe).
