She's already been through so many kinds of hell and aside from finding out Kara's identity from Lex the way she did, I don't believe that very many things could make her react the way she did. Plus since she's already been through it hopefully she can learn from her mistakes and find better ways of dealing with her emotions.

Even though the show goes up to 20 episodes, I am glad Lena woke up and came back into the light. So we don’t have wait until next year to see her save her soul.

Here's my point, Lena never actually discussed her choices. She brushes over them briefly, but never actually goes into detail about them or why she made them. We deserved that, too hear from Lena why she chose Lex over Kara. Why she treated Kara worse after choosing Lex even though she almost chose Kara. I think I know the answers, but we deserved to have that convo. Truth is, the show lost 300k viewers after Lena shook Lex's hand and they never gave a reason. They intentionally kept Lena's reasons vague because they didn't have one that would justify.
Lena did a lot of bad shit, she earned Kara's mistrust way before she found out the secret. Lena never really had to face the consequences for her choices.

I think it's more that the story (the season finale) literally wasn't finished here. This handshake was an agreement to work together on a fight that was still in progress. The hug (I'm certain) would have come AFTER the fight was over ("take my brother down").

I think the most disappointing part is they were like 3 days away from wrapping the finale. Episode 20 was already supposed to be the finale because Melissa is pregnant they were going to film the first half of the next season immediately after the finale so they decided to make it a 20 episode season instead of a 22 episode season.

I'm gonna be crucified for saying this, but I don't ship them. I never saw them as a couple even after reading comment sections. Especially after all the things Lena did to Kara. But there are other reasons why I don't ship them and why the writers need to stop queerbaiting its viewers; neither of them have been written as queer in the comics or any other media. Mainly because they never had a reason to be written as anything more than that. And despite all of that, they're desperate for ratings and will take as much advantage of this fanship. Which is disrespectful to the characters' creators AND the viewers. Changing a character's sexuality or race or gender never really sat right with me. There are some exceptions that I would accept on "changing" a character's sexuality
1. The characters' creators give the writers permission. They're dead now so maybe someone who knew them personally have told them they would've given the writers permission.
2. Create alternate versions of the characters. Like dopplegangers from other dimensions like Citizen Cold from Crisis on Earth X. Or clones raised in different societies like Cosima from Orphan Black
3. Create your own version of the character with a different name. I.e: Arrow adapting Curtis Holt, a gay man, rather than introducing the already created Michael Holt
4. The characters' sexual orientation has never been brought up even by the creators.
If these exceptions were made, I'd be fine with Supercorp being canon. If you ship them, that's great. If they helped you explore and accept your sexuality, also great! If you draw fan art or write fanfic, that's also great! But don't demand people into doing what they don't want to do even if what they ARE doing is stupid. Who knows? Maybe Kara and Lena's creators wanted to develop their characters even further but couldn't because of the time periods they lived during their lifetimes. And unless someone who knew them has told them they would've wanted them to be queer or just don't care either way, maybe they'd be a couple. But right now, I'm happy they remain friends.

I stopped season 2 and I feel like it's kinda getting ridiculous and childish in a way
I agree, there are some moments where the "I'm the good guy, I'm the hero" talk with that posture gets annoying but it is worth it to push through those. Tbh Lena Luthor kept my motivation and attention for this show. Without Katie McGrath I would've probably stopped mid-way season 3. Luckily I got interested again somewhere in season 4 and then the angst between Kara and Lena just killed me and made me watch all the way till the end.
