Kathak dancers in Mumbai celebrating the life and teachings of Pt. Birju Maharaj

Yesterday was a congregation in Mumbai at the BYOU Studio in remembrance of Pt. Birju Maharaj ji where many Kathak teachers and students were present and each one spoke about their experience with Maharaj ji. Saswati Sen who has been the disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj from the last 51 years broke down while performing her solo at the end. She also taught Maharaj ji's few compositions informally and all the Kathak lovers had a great time with her. Pt. Birju Maharaj ji is still alive till we have Saswati Sen ji amongst us and after that he will be immortal through his Legacy, Disciples, Devotees and Progeny.
