OK, I've been laying for 45 years and the way you put a cap on top of that column was to say the least Genius! With the corner cuts as complicated as they are,SMART! New trick everyday, never to old to learn a new trick.

Knowing the perfect shape to cut the brick to create an even slope has always made me appreciate a true brick layers craft
@@MargotDobbie how about you put a vid on UA-cam so we can see how good your brickwork is mate
@@MargotDobbie more simple actually, a bit of string pulled to your desired position and lay bricks, score them and cut them and relay them, no geometry involved tbh unless your building larger structures

The trick with those type of brick is use the brick acid at the end.
Those bricks will smear the face no matter how neat a bricklayer you are.
