- KHOU 11 Investigative Reporter Jeremy Rogalski interviews CenterPoint Director of Communications Alyssia Oshodi from 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on July 9, 2024.
They could have arrived from Siberia by now. I have not seen one truck or anyone doing power line work.
Facts!
@@stacyjones4334i saw a bunch staged at a parking lot in katy by an academy. None were working on poles or anything just running the streets in groups in their high visibility vests. Seems like they are enjoying being on the clock not fixing anything
Fire her !!
Onb
And the whole Centerpoint administration
She can only report what the company agrees to share.
All reasonable solid questions and NOT ONE reasonable solid answer.
I bet they could get more people back online by the end of tomorrow.
When a neighborhood loses power, but it's surrounded by neighborhoods with power, it's not a catastrophic rebuild.
IMO They're hiding behind the "damage assessment" rhetoric to deflect from their inability to manage the situation.
This is almost as sad as it is pathetic.
@@will742 no one home
These are basic questions!!! Why in the hell did she not do her homework knowing she was going to be interviewed?
Same old corporate jargon word salad.
Mayor Whitmire and Kim Ogg, this group needs investigating next!!!!
I want to see some heads roll.
P.S. Interviewer did an *excellent* job!
Senior leadership sent a lower level employee out there with limited info. She doesn't have the info bc her own company won't tell her. She's a puppet for Centerpoint
She's a DEI cutout. It's designed to show us how those who don't belong in positions of rebuilding. Yay she has a job yahoo
@@mysticmardi So true. A completely different spokesperson appeared early the next morning.Hasn't helped but at least she
seemed credible.
Typical corporate talk seen it before, Why is she not facing people/ reporters in person?
In person! You mean them, the elite of the energy industry, breathing the same air as us unwashed peasants? You must be making jests, because that ain't happening!!
They haven't been trimming around the lines. That's why they have so many outages. It's different in North Texas where Oncore is. I recently moved to Houston. Im not impressed. Plus we pay more here. This is ridiculous. All your high prices are covering equity programs here instead of investment in the service. If yall have been watching the outages totals they are not updating much. This company really sucks.
“We are experiencing changes” 🤔 been hearing that a lot.
He did should a great job! My respect to this man!
Director of Communications but can’t communicate effectively. What a waste.
Totally agree!
Wonder how this happened... hmmmmm
Thank you 11 news and jermey for asking those real questions we Houstonians need to know. That is a GOSH DAMN EMBARRASSMENT!!!!! Especially when you cant give us people a count of people whos working on what or how many people are in town!
They never late when they change por service
Whataburger is better at tracking haha😂
Im literally looking at the neighborhood across the with light, and my neighborhood is pitch black. How does this make sense
Hey id just like to say, thank you for asking the hard hitting questions! Keep looking out for us! These people don’t care if we overheat
It’s word salad and general “facts”, and excuses and just idiocy. If this is the best spokesperson Centerpoint has we are in trouble.
3rd day without power
These ppl had a practice run with May to prepare for hurricane season
If u actually drive around Katy/cypress there are still bunch poles leaning from derecho
Likely their plan is to not replace them until they fall
💯
My whole neighborhood in plantation lakes has leaning street signs.
Fire her!
Why fire her! Fire governor Abott!
@@jackiemanuel_realestate for Abbott? He is elected and she is hired. Abbott had no say over centerpoint. So why don't you leave.
@@jackiemanuel_realestate him too!
At this point, fire the entire administration of Centerpoint. Clean house and start over with some better people that aren't just about money and truly care about their customers.
@@idm1738 exactly they have the monopoly on this and have for years and haven't done jack to fix this antiquated infrastructure.
I can’t say what I want to say because I’ll be put on a list( lol) but all I’ll say is don’t let me get my hands on any Canter point executive b/c it won’t be pretty. There’s no reason a company as shit as that should be managing an ENTIRE city. Break up the monopoly. Idc if it cost more
They could have prepared lol not call for help after the damage was done and say “hey look we are doing something”
This is Houston this should be muscle memory
This lady should be fired
I’ll have to get back to you… please be patient… not passing the sniff test for me. 🥵
Fire that director
Them nearby locations were a days drive from Houston 😂
I don’t even know if the full crew is even in the state. They intially only staged 2,500 near Houston😭 I won’t rest until Center-pint as a company is no more/ at least not providing energy for the entire city lol
Center point aren’t matching with their slogan…
Bet she has power...😑
What does she know at all ?!
She is talking bullshit. On my way back from Beaumont, I seen atleast a hundred utility trucks headed east towards Louisiana on Tuesday evening, they definitely were not headed here to Houston
This is what happens when the government effectively gives a company a Monopoly within a region.
Been sitting at 1.3M Houstonians without power for many hours now. No progress on the tracker.
No transparency!!!
Wow, she speaks in the exact wordage as the whitehouse press secretary talking without giving clear needed answers. But in plain english, Centerpoint should have been well more prepared. They have failed over and over repeatedly since the freeze of 2021. They should have had crews here way beforehand and not just arriving now. The crews weren't near enough. Their definition of nearby is "not anywhere in Texas or even close". Centerpoint needs to be held accountable for their repeated failure, which is inexcusable. This was a great interview, but terrible job from Centerpoint with giving clear needed answers to the public. This almost feels like he was having to talk to an automated service 🤦♀️🙄
The information we got at the time was to stay home, stay off the roads bc it was gonna be really bad lol where was she getting her information?
There is no way CenterPoint hired her. Which family member hooked her up with this job? Someone should check her credentials and the candidates who applied for this job. She don’t know and couldn’t answer any questions. Fire her.
That's EXACTLY while she will KEEP her job😂😂she's a SEASONED politician atp she sounds just like congress
Where are the crews? I don’t hardly see any trucks out here working
Mine just got on 🎉 and yes it would have been helpful to track it to see another options for each family (hotel, Bying a generator, seek shelther )
It’s been 3 days. How much time do you need?!
They were in Abilene . Waiting for an assignment . That’s where they were
Great job, Jeremy. Thanks for the pointed questions and your dogged pursuit for the truth.
Not ideal....life threatening..geez!
This is their representative?! Wtf.. Centerpoint is a disaster.
Ask her why they kept telling people there were 12k people when there weren’t ever that many people. That’s why people don’t trust them
She should step down from CenterPoint as Director of Communications. She isn’t doing her job.
Does she have aspirations for Washington DC? This sounds like a House Committee inquiry. The person being questioned never can answer a question succinctly.
Do not forget!!! next bill to demand they pro-rate your bill for the days of no service. They will NOT do it until you ask, especially the average billing accounts.
I don’t like her. She is fake
If upper management at Centerpoint is focusing on stupidity rather than competence, we can all see what the real problem is. This woman provided no tangible benefit to the current situation. The Harris County judge needs to take a lot of blame also.
When you say “but” you negate the previous statement.
She said “but” a lot
“We understand people are without a critical service, BUT we need time”
They need to sell their power poles to multiple smaller companies for each region of Houston and throw their monopoly in the garbage.
Jeremy, again, I don’t have an effing clue. I’m not going to tell you.
One day we will learn all this was on purpose
Facts
CenterPoint's communication was absolutely abysmal e2e. She is the director of comms and the buck stops with her. She epically failed and should resign.
Wow the incompetence, ego, and greed at the executive level at this place is next level smh 🤦🏻♀️🙂↔️second hand embarrassment
Arrest her
This is the Director of Communications??? Centerpoint has more issues if this is the type of individual they feel is most qualified for this position. Come on man!!!
Wake up Houston! They don’t care 🤷♀️
Awesome interview questions.
Pathetic answers.
She never stated any type of apology to customers who are suffering in this heat.
I bet she’s sitting in the AC.
I would not want to be in her position.
I bet her lights are on
Okay I see why Centre Point Entergy is being thrown under the bus. Yeah I SEE now.
“Opportunities for improvement” how about yall just don’t lie to your customers. News flash customers are citizens
DEI detected
She sems lazy, slow and gives political non answer answers which makes sense why centerpoint is failing their customers
Love privatization of basic human services …. This is what you get when you allow private companies to control human needs
Maybe some commenters need to take some personal responsibility, like maintaining their trees & large shrubs are properly cut so they're not resting on power lines. Stop planting cheap fast-growing trees that only set out shallow root system.
This guy is a joke, everything was scripted and she knew the answers. You can tell this guy was in acting mode.
Reactive…never proactive.
This is what happens when companies implement DEI. Hiring people based on skin color rather than skills and expertise. Only going to get worse.
Can’t even reach nobody when you call them. Sad
fire her please
BS!!!! UTTER, Self-serving BS!!!
She sure is smug while she sits there and lies. 🤥
Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla
They were in Abilene . Waiting for an assignment . That’s where they were
