Based on your Trade Winds recipe I bought the Giffard Apricot and it's great. The Trade Winds was delicious and I made a cocktail of 1 Plantation 3 Star, 1 Appleton Estate 12, 1 Giffard Apricot, 1/2 Lime Juice (alt Lemon Juice - both great.) Well shaken and poured neat into a Nick & Nora. Deliciously different.

Excellent video. Mr. Black really is a great coffee liqueur, probably the best out there. A close competitor for me, though, is Tempus Fugit Creme de Moka. Definitely worth a try if you like Mr. Black.

Even big brand liqueurs go bad after some years. Kahlua has a recommended consumption date of 4 years, and most fruit liqueurs start tasting off after a year or so. Obviously that's a long time, but it's not uncommon for a bottle to go unused for that time.

Mead in the UK is virtually unheard of. In the trade…AND in the general consumer. However, I have niched into Rum only. So probably not I’m afraid.

Hi Steve, great and informative video. However, especially when you talk about syrups, I would rather disagree on buying „syrups/spices“ like Falernum, Allspice Dram etc. I would always prefer to make them on my own. They taste way better and it‘s a huge fun to create them. I really learned a lot from this guy here ua-cam.com/users/BarTalkCocktails - a guy from Canada with more than 40 years of experience. Check the Falernum episode, the series about the Polynesian Pearl Diver (including the recipe for allspice dram) or the episode about selfmade Grenadine. Awesome! If you really want entertainment, check the episode about the Mai Tai 😂

Ha, Marcus YOU'RE WRONG!!! 😂 Nah, Joking. Look, as I always say to people. If you have the time and passion to make your own Syrups and Purees, fill your boots and crack on. But thats not the audience i aim at. People who love that kinda vibe i always point in the direction of Kevin Kos, Leandro, Aussie StB, Anders etc. I preach about quick, simple and Faff free. We're lucky in the UK, i have an option of at least 9 Syrup Brands. Each one having different products that smash it. They spend their whole working lives perfecting their craft. I'm not in that world. I don't get a plumber to fix me Car. or a Mechanic to fix my electricity! So I always bow down to professionals with the time and the patience to perfect their art. Just me... but lifes too short for me to stand making syrups when brands will just send me them... 😇😂
