It was so refreshing to see you tinkering with something that is actually affordable still, and like Bri said the motor is bone stock and look what it is capable of. Young guys need to know that you can have tremendous fun wrenching on cars like this, I get the GTR and all that is way faster and nicer fun and must be amazing to own also an S-Chassis etc, but those kinda cars are way out of reach for 99% of us because of the market. Couldn't agree more with Brian, that 180 should cost 800. Bring back the Veedubs! Get Josh's Rado back too and also the green MK3. Good fckn content Deej. Bring us more.
Mk4 gti 1.8T oil pan replacement is a 30-45 min job with the right tools, with the motor sitting low as the mk2’s slammed I recommend getting Grayfab dogbone mount with motor mount spacers to raise the engine in the bay and axle spacers to avoid going through hella axles

I have a mk4 GLI! btw for anyone, if you are going to lower a 1.8t, better lift the engine and/or get a new LP oil pan. lol we all been through that xD
VWs are cool cars when they work. I had a VW scirocco that I got for $250 from my friend's Co worker and it was quick all we did was a port and polish job. Then the distributor took a shit it cost more than the car to replace, so I junked it. The body was straight no dents, but the strut towers were rotted and the strut punched through. That's why it was cheap. Plus it got worst when we took it onto a rally special stage to chase after one of the rally cars in our team, then on the way out we got chased by a rally and we had to haul ass to avoid an accident.

If the motor ever blows in Brian’s drift car “I pray it doesn’t” BUT he should totally throw a Vw 12v vr6 in it and turbo it, stock bottom ends will hold 600hp no issue with a good engine management 😉🤣🤘

Why I went 12v with my turbo build, was simply cheaper and more achievable with my budget🤘
Tell him to Put a Sump Gaurd on it 6mm thick aluminium checker plate from some recycling yard would work great its what we used to use on the rally cars but we'd weld strip on it so it woe dnup 12mm thick .

EDIT: 1.8t never lose. literally smashed my oilpan and would drive it back to base one or two miles, slap a new pan on in 35 minutes or less, and it would be back ripping. AND had every single light on the dash on. Ran like a dream forever.

If Brian has issues cracking pans. You can use the beetle oil pan. 11mm shallower and has a steel base instead of aluminium so it won't crack as easy
