Is it "OCD?" - my home organization vlog for 2024

Organizing my home has been one of the most challenging aspects of family life. Because we are a military family, I've been forced to do massive clean-outs for decades in order to move. Without these forced clean-outs, I'm sure I would have had a packed basement, attic or storage unit by now. In this video I bring you along on my now yearly clean out and organization ritual. My yearly organization project usually takes me 2-6 weeks. This seems like a huge amount of time to devote to drudgery, but the long term benefits include safer spaces, better money management, order of the mind, and knowing that we are not leaving a hoard for our children to deal with when we are too aged to deal with it ourselves.
"OCD" (obsessive compulsive disorder) is a serious condition that affects people's lives profoundly. I hear the term OCD misused all the time and somehow it's been conflated with simple, sensible organization.
