Sound on! I have taken a spy video of the new Ford Mustang GTD which Ford brought to the Nürburgring for the first time. The new Ford Mustang GTD is doing a lap record attempt later this year. The sound of the 5.2-liter V8 is incredible during his first rounds on the Nordschleife.

It won't have any street presence. The costs to own it are ridiculous and it's a shortlist of people who can own it.
You will probably never see it on the street. They will end up in garages for collectors.
@@garyis1337 Ya see, I just couldn't do that, I'm a person who feels the car was meant to be driven...not sit in some garage. I don't care if it depreciates its value, you buy a performance machine to perform in it and you'll never enjoy the ride if you don't take it out for some exercise.

@@BaBaBooeyWRLDthe Subaru STI has had basically the same power for about 15 years now. They have stagnated its evolution because they cannot progress the power as it will result in engine failures, etc. Also, the best looking STI’s were in the early 2000s. When they went to the hatch design they ruined the look of it.
Funny their newest version of the motor is literally almost Bulletproof but you are right it was pretty long in the tooth they're going for an all-electric platform unfortunately now
Subaru sells ONE hybrid model. They probably don’t have enough carbon credits to release a new STI without incurring heavy penalties.
This is already my most favorite mustang, it used to be the Zakspeed Mustang but this has won me over

As a Mustang lover with 15 prior Mustangs and a current 3RS owner. This has me all in the feels

@@axebeard7677 Well ironically I did get the application and submitted my information. As well as two other friends, anyone with current or previousFord GT cars is very likely to get approved. Let's see what happens. I will 100% see and drive one at the very least.
I'm there with you...I have only owned 8 mustangs but have had a few of the best going back to a '65 k code and a 2000 Cobra R model....and my last car was a 2018 Porsche GT2 RS (I currently own a 2022 Ferrari F8)...but the GTD has my full attention.

I’ve owned many Mustangs as well but if this car sells for north of 500,000 that will be a travesty. Mustangs are the working man’s sports cars. This one would put it out of reach for nearly everyone.

Henry Ford knew what he was doing when he laid out the v8 flathead firing order and it gave us the coyote. What an amazing run, id love to hear the entire lap.
The firing order just comes from them both having crossplane cranks, chevy, plymouth, chrysler, dodge, etc... all had this firing order. Ford was not an engine genius lmao, he made cheap cars on purpose. The flathead was a slug of a truck engine that often made less than 100 hp and couldn't rev past 4000 rpm. The coyote is dual overhead cam, and revs to the moon with really high compression.
Henry Laid out the firing order of the v8 as much as you Laid down the pipe before typing that Travels and adventures of Little Baron Trump and his wonderful dog Bulger type comment.

The Mustang in the movie Need For Speed looks much better.
For what it is, it's gorgeous. I wish they'd make the rear spoiler connect to the deck as well as the C-pillars, though.
This reminds me the modern iteration of the famous Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R from 2000's in GranTurismo 3, love it !

This is Fords answer to the upcoming ZR1. Makes me wonder what they'll do against the Zorra down the line..... I love it when manufacturers go "full competition mode", we enthusiasts win that game every time with pure enjoyment.
The ZR1 will kill this in every metric possible.
@@SelimxBradleyyeah no. Not a shot. Same power, but this has ASV suspension, pushrods, will likely weigh less, and has bigger front tires for more grip. Plus I’m sure the braking will be much better too, since the Dark Horse is already better than the Z06 in that regard.

Again, 325 vs 275 width front tires, likely a strut suspension on the Corvette vs the superior SLA/Pushrod suspension on the Mustang, Multimatic active dual-height dampers on the Mustang vs static single height dampers on the ZR1, DRS and more downforce on the Mustang, and ~3600 lbs vs ~3900 lbs. Lose-lose across the board for the ZR1. Even if it has a 100 hp advantage, it won’t matter at the track.
man i'm not sure you can get much more serious with this car. Reality sets in its still a non carbon chassis stock Mustang just like the GT3. yes i know vette is not carbon tubbed but its still shaped like a ultra sports car.
Surprised no one is talking about how loud it is. Sounds like it’s 30 feet away when it’s 300 feet away.
Many people have commented about how loud the GT500 is when they were following it and the Shelby was flat out.
Some saying it's the loudest production car they've ever heard...at least American.
Same predator motor in this GTD and it sounds even louder at times. Crazy.
Notice the different exhaust in the beginning and end. From what I read in an article they had to do something about the exhaust noise since it was too loud.

@@djsnoopmike True. As a Porsche fan I am hyped about a 911 with the GT3 RS aero and 700 - 800 Hybrid hp. Should be so fast. I also looove what Ford is doing there. Such a beast. Looks and sound so good. I only hope the ZR1 will have the regualtions to be on the Nürburgring. The C7 ZR1 had problems in Europe or many parts at least. I need to see how those 3 compare. 😍

As a huge Camaro fan, I cannot deny but fathom this beast. This is by far the best post-1970 Mustang I've ever seen. I cannot forgive GM for doing injustice to the Camaro. It would have been amazing to see a ramped-up ZL1 Camaro with similar specs. Q
As a Mustang fan, it's a damn shame the competition is dying off, the Camaro was awesome and I'd have loved to see them make a response to the GTD. Just a shame Chevrolet and Dodge are basically giving up

What a Beast. I definitely love the new mustangs as well as the new Corvettes, since they’re both my top favorites. As it stands, the mustang’s inherent the throne of having the thundering V8s. To which, unfortunately, the new corvettes don’t have.

Looks good at speed. Nice proportions, Ford did a great job with the stance of this vehicle. The nose looked a little bit reluctant to turn in, but I'm sure the setup is being dialed in for the perfect balance. It'll be great to see what the press cars deliver. Great job Ford!

Stunning, gorgeous, looks fast af out there and my only issue with the GTD is that Ford isnt building 10x more of them for 1/3 the price, so many more people could enjoy this amazing sports car.
Performance cars are to be enjoyed by the rich only nowadays and soon all muscle cars will be just as elitist.
It’s a $300k car and you’re paying for $300k of performance. This is like buying a Z4 GT3 with better suspension and livable on the street.
They have Mustang's at every price point though, you can't expect a business to sell a product at a HUGE loss, I mean if we want that we should be focusing on Food and Medicine way before luxuries like a track car lol.
The Mustang has been a car for the blue collar for a long time, I'm not very wealthy and I'm able to get one, that I am grateful for.
@@CM-vv8cv The base Mustang doesn’t handle very well though and it’s a significant jump in price to source an upgraded version with superior suspension, torsional rigidity, transmission (etc) and weight saving through incorporating much lighter, yet stronger materials. $100K is normal nowadays for Shelby or Saleen variants, with the S650 Super Snake starting at $160K. The limited edition build runs are responsible for driving up the prices, making them unattainable for the average man and even out of reach for well-heeled car enthusiasts due to these cars’ exclusivity. This worrying trend has made supercar and performance car markets for the rich only and now we’re unfortunately witnessing the modern era of the muscle car well on it’s way to becoming just as elitist in the not too distant future. Look at the price of the C8 Z06 for e.g. In Australia, a 2016 C7 Z06 costs $260K and a base Dark Horse costs $100K for a starting point (which are pointless without many of the options which alarmingly drive up the final price). I own a manual 2012 BMW E92 M3 Coupe (Competition Package) and due to the Euro Regs agenda of rendering the combustion engine extinct, their used prices are now soaring because it’s N/A 4.0L S65 V8 ensures it is now a collector’s item.
Edit : Same will happen to every V8 muscle car.
@@The-fs5wn Yes, the GTD’s R&D (along with the plethora of state of the art, high-end components the car is comprised of) warrants the asking price, but it’s the limited edition build numbers of these cars nowadays which make them unattainable.

The only criticism is the exhaust tips, would have preferred side pipes.
I like where they’re situated, but would much prefer round tips.
This exhaust sounds a lot better than side pipes probably would. The idle sounds like the giant drums that get pounded at college football games and it sounds like a mix of the C6R and Z4 GT3 flat out.
