At the Cha Ca Thang Long restaurant , you have no choice , because they serve only one dish : the Cha Ca You come in , sit down and they serve the unique dish they have . The portions depend on how many people you are .

you should go to BUFFET SEN Tay Ho. There's a lot of Vietnamese food there and the prices are reasonable. 15 usd you can eat as much as you want
1:38 haha yes in Vietnamese, theoretically, "bánh mì" is just simply means bread, and the typical Vietnamese sandwich that you guys adore is fully called "bánh mì kẹp", so I hope you won't be too confused because of the difference.

Tip for crossing street in Vietnam:
Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not run and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid off and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

As a vegetarian, I found sooooo many places that serve meat if that is your choice, but also GREAT vegetarian options. I had zero issues with my choice of food,

Tbh your first stop - Banh Mi 25 is well-known for foreigners as they have kinda fusion taste, however, the local prefer to buy banh mi at a random street vendor 😅 as a Hanoian, I have to admit that Banh Mi 25 is pretty pricey among the banh mi market
@@chattyfamilyvlog I really recommend you to have a private food tour around the Old Quarter (with Ha Food Tours, for example), you can also try the Vietnam Sightseeing - 2-storey bus to have an overview of the Hanoi center. For the must-go destinations, I think you can follow some famous tourism sites as Hanoi doesn’t have that many well-known places tbh 😂 However, I do believe that riding a duck paddle boat around Trúc Bạch Lake (opposite to West Lake) would be ideal in this autumn weather, especially around 4pm. Have a nice trip guys, thanks for choosing our city 😁
Is November a good time to visit Hanoi, Ha Giang, Sapa and Ha Long bay? some people say it is too cold with the biting north wind and not much activities/scenery to enjoy. Thanks.
@@alfaromeo6985 surely, this is the best time to visit Hanoi dude, the weather is around 20-29 Degree, not much hot in Fall season, enjoys Vietnam😀

I saw another UA-camr video that the train street is now closed off to tourist. Is it open back up now?
As far as we know, it is still closed. We were there at the end of August when things were still open.
How do you find local/safe/delicious food in Asian countries where there are hundreds of vendors on every street?
Look for places with plenty of local customers and no westerners. That is usually the telltale sign. I was overwhelmed when I first arrived. One thing to keep in mind though…..western tastebuds often do not walk on same path with local counterparts 😀 but since the bill is usually minimal, so, it is affordable to explore.
If you're going to Vietnam, do a food tour in every city. Check out the food tours "Flora and Nate" and MomDuty did in Hanoi, "Chase and Shelbs" did in HCMC, and "Step and Pete" did in Hoi An... "Chase and Shelbs" also had a great video of the food they ate while in Hue.

Also do food tours as the ones I saw from "Flora and Nate" and MomDuty in Hanoi were amazing as was "Chase and Shelbs" in HCMC and finally "Step and Pete" in Hoi An...awesome guides.

We visited at the end of August so we think it is still closed. We are so sad to hear that someone was hit there 😔

Fact: Phở Thìn - the one you had is actually not the tradditional Phở which has thin slices of fresh beef or boiled beef and very clear flavourful broth, almost no oil at all. Many Vietnamese people dont like the fatty taste of Phở Thìn. I dont know why it is famous. Additionally, Bún Chả Obama is not highly rated by an amount of the Vietnamese. They say its quality has been on decline since it became well-known for the honor of having Obama. Of course the dishes in these places are not too bad or unacceptable, but they're definitely not the options for anyone who wants to try the best and original.
