I bought some awesome jeans on sale and they fit everywhere but the waist. A hammer, who knew?! These instructions made the final fit look beautiful!

Hammering Jeans! Brilliant on a pair worn with an overblouse! For this use, the center back seam and waistband alteration can be eliminates as I do on expensive jeans. Wish I would have purchased a professional-level machine as yours.
Glad to hear this was helpful! You can probably find some used professional machines for reasonable price. Maybe check ebay or Amazon.

I like this idea. I have "low-waist" jeans that keep slipping down and it is annoying. I came on UA-cam looking for a video on how to insert a piece of elastic in each side of the waist band. I think I will try this instead. Thank you for taking the time to teach us your sewing techniques!

+Jan Brady Hi Jan, thank you! I use a standard sewing thread you can get at any craft store. The key is to match the color as closely to the denim as possible. Hope this helps!
Love this technique. I have a pair of pants, not really jeans, and it will work. Did you space those darts from the centre back in any particular way? I didn't quite catch your meaning. Would I measure from the centre back half way?
Wish they would show how to lower waist band
Maybe for a future video. That's a little trickier due to the curvature of the hips.
